My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one get's 3 1/2 rounded up to 4 stars.
I haven't read the previous books in the series, but I think that this one worked well as a stand-alone. This is a romantic suspense with a bit of a murder mystery to get to the bottom of along the way. There's plenty of action and plenty of heat in the romance department.
Set in Scotland with a Glaswegian lead, lots of the book is written with a 'Scottish' dialect which for the most part was fairly well done. The author had clearly done quite a bit research and other than the odd little slip-up, but these were mostly little random things that just slip in there (things like going to a paediatrician's office which is unlikely in the UK). I do struggle a bit with things written in dialect, often it's overdone a bit, as the person writing is less used to the accent. For the most part, this was well done and worked.
I enjoyed the suspense element of the book and although I thought I knew where it was going, it didn't make for a boring read. As for the romance, I think that this might be slightly where things fell a little flat for me. I just didn't fully buy into the chemistry between Quinn and Elizabeth. I also found him calling her Lilibet really cringy. I don't know if it's because the only time I've heard that name ever used before is because it's what the Queen is known as to some people and came about because she couldn't say her own name. It's such a babyish name and not something you could imagine lovers using. It's a shame because I think that it was the romance element that made this less than a four-star read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Off the books crime investigation is a little tricky. Quinn and Elizabeth don't let that stop them or slow them down too much. Together they get into a lot of trouble.

First one read in the series but I do like to read this author. With so many out there it is hard to get to read everything you want too. This one will have you drawn in it with the level of intrigue wrapping around you. Oh and Quin has you hooked being the Scotsman he is. Elizabeth is also one that will have your attention. Oh and to have to just be friends what a hard road that will be. They will have a adventurous road ahead with mystery and drama. Being chased by death can also warm you to join together to face it. Great from beginning to end.

ARC received for review

Elizabeth helps Quinn track down the murderer of his best bud. Sparks have been flying between Quinn and Elizabeth for a while. It was nice to see them finally get together, and boy were they hot when they did. It was nice to see the other Cobra peeps for a minute. Now who's gonna fall next...

Loved this book! It's a fast moving story that has Elizabeth and Quinn facing their attraction to each other when Elizabeth rushes to Scotland to support Quinn as he prepares to bury his best friend. Once there, they both get more than they bargained for and are soon dodging criminals and cops, trying to figure out who killed Quinn's friend.

This novel is fast paced romantic suspense at its best. While I am new to this author's work, I am already a fan and can't wait to read more of her books. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. I'm adding the author to my must read authors' list.

Pamela Clare set a sexy romantic suspense in Scotland with a burly ginger Scot? Sign me up. I've had mixed feelings about the Cobra Elite series so far, but after reading Quinn and Elizabeth's story, I'm firmly back in the fan club. This is a quick-moving dance between two operatives who have been fighting a slow burn pants feelings towards each other for years but now have only days to solve a murder. No big deal, right?

The best part of Quinn and Elizabeth's story, imo, is that Quinn is not only respectful of Elizabeth's status in their male-dominated company (and industry) but also clearly is in awe of her tactical abilities. Elizabeth is the brain to Quinn's brawn and he 100% stans her for it.

In many ways, Quinn either let Elizabeth take the lead or listened to her as they followed clues and fought the bad guys. This quiet support was every bit as hot as their long-suppressed lust for either other. And when they finally gave in to it? Game over.

The author writes fantastic alpha heroes but my real appreciation is for her truly kickass heroines. The competency porn as they hold their own in international affairs is incredible. Looking forward to the next Cobra Elite adventure.

I loved the I-Team series but this one out does it. This is Quinn and Elizabeth’s story! When Quinn has to go home for his best friends funeral, he finds out he didn’t die a natural death. When suspicious things begin happening, the house broke into etc. Quinn begins to feel out of his depth. Elizabeth is ex CIA. Good with computers and rutting out the root of the problem. When she is granted vacation time she decides to go to Quinn and together they search for answers!

I read and reviewed this advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley

Elizabeth and Quinn work for a top notch private security company. When a former associate and close friend of his is killed Quinn heads to Scotland to support the family and find out who murdered his friend. He calls Liz to ask for her help that would require her to break the law, she can’t honor his request but Elizabeth heads over to see if there is anything she can do to help Quinn. Despite their attempts to deny it there is incredible chemistry between Quinn and Elizabeth. Their investigation takes them on a twisted path. The local police aren’t happy they are conducting their own investigation and there is someone behind the scenes that has targeted them. This book is a page turner with romance, suspense and twists that will keep you guessing. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Both Elizabeth + Quinn have a crush on each other.
However, COBRA has a no fraternization policy.
As they start to work together, they grow close.
Will they give in to temptation?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.
