Wow! This book is incredible - a must read! I thoroughly enjoyed this and I will definitely read more books by this talented author.
I took a liking to Celeste straight away; a very strong character, who, as the story progressed, grew on me more and more. Sometimes we are able to forget our past; other times not so. Sometimes there are memories everywhere.
I think this book has a clever storyline which is set mainly in Surrey and London, seven years ago, and in the present.
As the story flows, it all becomes clearer to us and all slots into place, perfectly. We have an insight into what happened years ago and what is going on at present, but there are still many lies, secrets and surprises along the way for us and you don't know what might happen next!
I really liked the snippets of factual information which are scattered (not too often) throughout the book, in all the relevant places; I found them interesting.
My feelings whilst I was reading this were intense. I felt: sadness, despair, shock, and then later, I still felt some sadness, but I felt more relief and at peace. It takes great writing to draw out our emotions, and this author did just that. This book was a reminder of why I enjoy reading so much.
I liked the idea that Celeste came up with for helping Meghan's business and when it took off, it brought about significant incidents and topics that kept me engrossed right through to the end.
I think the various characters are believable, but I wouldn't like to know a few of them, personally! However, as well as Celeste, my heart did go out to one other character.
The ending was very fitting and I wasn't disappointed. I highly recommend this book which is worthy of way more than 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!!
My thanks go to Aria via NetGalley for this wonderful read.
