Not a fan at all of this. It was a contrived plot with characters I could not care about at all. I really need to stay away from these psychological thrillers.

This was a fascinating psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns that kept me on my toes as a reader. The characters are fully imagined, and the plot that initially seemed to be about swinging, is really a look at what obsession looks and acts like. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The writing and the character development is truly impressive.
I highly recommend this book, 4 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Swap has quick chapters and was easy to pick and put down. The perfect kind of easy mindless read I was looking for while on a recent camping trip. Freya is a mesmerizing woman that everyone falls in love with upon meeting. Low, a high school student becomes obsessed with her at first sight and will do anything to be close to her. Jamie, a lonely woman believes she's found her BFF until one night of swapping partners changes everything. If unlikable characters are your thing than you'll enjoy self absorbed Freya and stalker Low.

This was a quick read but I really don't remember much from it. It didn't stand out or have many WOW moments. I would love the try the author again in the future though to see if I enjoy other books.

The book isn't a mystery/thriller and more of a drama. There was no suspense, and describing obsession isn't really suspense.

Set in the Pacific Northwest on a remote island small town with a progressive culture, I thought it'd be an interesting read. Though, I don't understand a book about obsession and desires. The chapters are based on the character's point of view, and there are five key characters - Low, Freya, Jamie, Max, and Brian. Only two of these voices carried the story, Low and Jamie. Low, a gangly, awkward, and quiet high school teenage girl obsessed over Freya, the superficial Insta-celebrity. Jamie, a woman that cannot give childbirth obsessed over the same superficial Insta-celebrity and wanted her child so badly. Both are so drawn by glamour and beauty that they were more than willing to be manipulated. The male characters are thin, so not much to describe there.

Thank you to Netgalley and Scout Press for the ebook ARC.

No matter how many times I pick up one of Harding's books, I am always immediately drawn into the intrigue and drama. THE SWAP is no different. Pushing the boundaries, this thriller has all the elements of a top-notch psychological thriller.

I've been in a reading slump, but this book kept me coming back and wanting to read. It was just the right pace with just the right amount of intrigue. I was no sure what to expect from this book, I've never read anything by Robyn Harding before, but this will not be the last. I thought the characters, while having some cliche characteristics, they were well developed and interesting. Low as unusual and I couldn't quite predict what she was going to do, Freya and Max are those characters that you love to hate, and Jamie and Brian were boring in the best way. I wasn't sure how the title was going to play into the plot, but I really enjoyed how Harding used it multiple ways to build out both characters and community. I will be looking for more books from Harding.

this was a very interesting plot for a book, but I had fun reading it! I think that it was a bit too long, but it wasn't a huge issue. I think the characters were very untrustworthy and unlikeable.

Wow, what a crazy, twisted read!

The story of Two women and a 17 year old girl who meet and change each other's lives forever.

Swallow (Low) Morrison is 17 years old and is graduating in a few months. She is an outcast who was raised by hippie parents. She meets Freya Light, a married woman and pottery teacher, and they become good friends. They spend a lot of time together until Freya makes a new friend.

Jamie and her husband Brian are also new to town. Jamie who needs a friend meets Freya. Freya and her husband and Jamie and her husband become good friends until the night of the swap. That night changed everything and Low is in the middle of it all.

I adore Robyn Harding. Alert: Can someone say "toxic relationships" There was just something so addictive about this book. I was entertained all the way through. There are many characters to "hate" and that always makes for a fun read. Highly recommend to EVERYONE.

Robyn Harding never ceases to amaze me when it comes to writing thrilling, psychological, suspenseful novels. What a cluster**** of a book. Robyn has been a favorite of mine since I read her novel The Party. This book made me feel like I was living inside an episode of Law and order SVU. What I gotta say is it was AMAZING and spine tingling. If you haven't read it yet, just go out and read it. Now! Run! Don't walk! You will not be disappointed.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was okay but not as fantastic as I expected. Yes there were twists, some I figured out. The one big twist at the end is the only thing that saved it from getting a lower rating. I really hated Freya and wasn't even a fan of Lo. Jamie was annoying and mopey. I just didn't connect with the characters.

WOW.. A twisty-turning title with things you anticipate, but don't actually see coming. The characters were believable, especially Low, and I couldn't help but feel for her. It's a great read for someone who wants to sleep with one eye open!

I previously loved The Arrangement but this one fell into the average category for me. Low was a character who was fairly well developed but the relationship with Freya was over the top from the start. I didn't buy that they would have any sort of connection as Freya's character felt extremely superficial and stereotypical to me. The pace occasionally picked up but overall, I wasn't in any hurry to pick this up.
