What a twisty story! I loved Wendy's first two novels so I was especially excited for this, and it did not disappoint. While I found the first few chapters a bit slow, I think the pacing picked up overall. I thought the character of Alice was very well done; what a creepy little girl, though her layers were slowly revealed in a really wonderful way. I look forward to more from this author.

Don't Look for Me was a pretty standard thriller. I enjoyed how fast-paced it was (I read it in just two sittings) and the dual perspectives. However, I guessed the ending halfway through the book, which made for a poor reading experience. Additionally, I didn't feel as though the characters were fully fleshed-out.

Too much repetition and too little real story. A mother runs out of gas just as a hurricane is arriving. She starts walking, gas station is closed, but a man in a truck picks her hp and brings her to his house. He has a little girl with him who is "allergic" to everything outdoors, so when he leaves the next morning to "make some calls," the woman has to stay with the girl. huh?
Add to that, a very trouble marriage, 2 children who seem to hate her and a third Child she is mourning..
I gave up when I got sick of hearing the same facts over and over.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest opinion.

This book is fast paced, thrilling, yet emotional and disturbing and creepy all at the same. Molly Clarke's car is abandoned on the side of the road a half a mile from a gas station and days later her family finds a note that says Don't Look For Me. But that's not what happened to Molly Clarke. And through alternating chapters from Molly's perspective and Molly's adult daughter's perspective, Wendy Walker weaves a heart-pulsing psychological drama that will leave you on the edge of your seat gripping that book quickly turning the page, and then the "Wait, What??" ending that Wendy Walker is so known for. This book is just absolutely bloody brilliant, and Walker at her best. Lies, deception, twists, turns, all rolled up in this complex mind study of what happens to Molly in the days that follow the start of the book. I highly recommend it.

If you want to lose sleep, read Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker! I made the mistake of starting this at bedtime. The first few chapters were so creepy and unsettling I had a hard time going to sleep....so, I had to pick it up and read more. Needless to say, I didn’t feel so great when I had to get up at 5:30 AM and go to work. But it was so worth it! Molly Clarke, married and a mother, disappears one night after traveling 4 hours away to watch her son’s football game. Her car is found on the side of the road, near a gas station, with the keys and her phone left in it. Where has she gone? Did she leave on her own or was she taken? The story you are about to read will leave you feeling unnerved and disturbed. I don’t want to say too much else about the plot because I don’t want to accidentally give any spoilers. Just trust me when I say you need to read this book! I have read Wendy Walker’s previous books and it seems like each one gets better and better. This is my favorite of hers so far. I’m sure I’ll say that about the next one she writes too. Thank you to the publisher and net galley for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is a fast paced creepy thriller that makes for a.great summer read. The youngest daughter dies after accidentally being hit by a car driven by her mom. (No plot disclosure here) The family is trying to recover after this devastating loss. The story is told in alternating chapters through the voices of the mom and the oldest daughter. Lots of twists and turns for the mystery lover. #Don’tLookForMe #WendyWalker #NetGalley

This is an intriguing story that is difficult to figure out. The protagonist is a melancholy person who has experienced a tragedy that one can’t imagine. When she disappears she has no ideas others are looking for her. She meets a stranger changing her life...this is a sad, frightening book that gives one pause. For the real mystery lover...

Hunka Munka.........

This one has bite.

Wendy Walker douses Don't Look For Me in high octane gasoline and strikes the match. There's internal combustion going on here with a jiggy jaggy storyline and characters that will keep you up late at night.

You know the feeling when you're riding on fumes and just want to make it home after all those miles. Molly left her son Evan's private school's football game some time ago and is driving solo right into a New England storm. But Fate and an empty gas tank have decided already. With no other recourse, Molly puts her head down and begins to make her way in the torrential downpour to the Gas 'N Go down the road. Everything's been boarded up and closed because of the oncoming storm.

But someone stops for Molly and she gladly gets in. Two weeks later, no one knows what's become of Molly. Even her family has about given up hope. No clues. No leads. Maybe Molly just chose to walk away from the family tragedy that has been suffocating all of them before she went missing. You see, it was at Molly's own hands that the unforgiveable event occured. Guilt weighs heavy on the heart and the soul. Molly knows.

I don't know how Wendy Walker came up with this creative storyline that she showcases here in this novel. All I can say is there's many a dark corner lingering in the shadows of her superb mind. Don't Look For Me is deeply character driven. Walker winds her way into the psyche of these individuals and forms a transcending bridge between reader and story. The knotted thread that runs throughout is the uncertainty of this shaky ground. Who do we even trust as readers? Not gonna tell. Be quick to pick this one up.

I received a copy of this novel through NetGalley for an honest review. My thanks to St. Martin's Press and to Wendy Walker for the opportunity.

My first read by Wendy Walker was highly recommended by a fellow reader so I was intrigued to find out why.

I wasn’t too thrilled about the first person point of view as the story started but it became quite effective as the story unfolds in a chapter by chapter tick tock. This is a fast paced page turner which is very important to me as a reader. The author crafted a pretty solid whodunnit with Don’t Look for Me. I was more engaged in the story than the characters and there is one aspect of the plot twist that I didn’t like but I wanted to know how this story ended.

It’s always positive to want more from an author and I am looking forward to trying another Wendy Walker book soon.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher St Martins Press for the opportunity to read this book for a honest review!

In Don't Look for Me by Wendy Walker, Molly Clarke mysteriously disappears by the side of the road when her car runs out of gas as a hurricane approaches. The first chapter is told from her perspective, but then her eldest daughter, Nicole, narrates the next part. There is a million-dollar reward for her return. The book continues in these alternating patterns of point of view to find out why Molly disappeared five years after she accidentally ran over her middle daughter with her car. The police think she purposely left and doesn't want to be found, but Nicole has other ideas and wants to make amends with her mother.

I love this style of narration because it makes it really suspenseful. You still get a glimpse of Molly and what's happened to her but have to wait while Nicole catches up. The characterization is expertly written. You can feel the characters' pain and understand their anguish. The suspense is thrilling and artfully crafted. It's one of those books you don't want to stop reading, but have to sometimes because of how painful it is to go through the experience with the characters. It's cathartic and exciting all at the same time.

The plot is intricately woven and doesn't feel forced or obvious. You get enough clues as you're reading to get more and more interested in both the characters and what happens to them. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had all the elements of a great thriller.

You know how sometimes you feel like you’re reading the same thriller over and over? Well, that is definitely not the case here. This was an unpredictable story and I was here for it!

I loved that the storyline felt original. I haven’t personally read a book with a similar plot line and that always gets big points from me. In Don’t Look For Me, you’re given certain information upfront and this made things feel so close, right there, yet still so far away. You know, but you don’t know. It’s twisty and smart and I loved it!

This book pulled at my heartstrings, creeped me out, and made my jaw drop! The combination of character development, exciting plot line, and chapters ending in mini cliff hangers made me want to race through the book. It’s the perfect mix of family, mystery, and suspense!

Don't Look for Me by Wendy Walker was a legit jawdropping thriller. I mean, y'all, when one of the big twists was revealed, I audibly gasped I was so shocked. This is my third thriller by this author, and what I love is that she writes her twists and turns in such a unique way. One of the ways she does this is by making it so you're just not sure what characters you can trust and/or who's actually telling the truth. It's this plot device that makes those reveals so darn good! This story focuses on Molly Clarke. She is a mother who has mysteriously disappeared. Ther are some things that have happened to her family that make people wonder if she was abducted, or if she just decided to leave on her own accord. This premise of doubt lays the foundation for some kind of ride. This is a thriller told through multiple characters' points of view, and yet again I'll remind you that this type of storytelling is what I love. Storytelling in this way also allows you to get nuggets of each character's personal story, but also gives you clues into those of others, as well as again what might not be true. Y'all, this author can write some kind of thriller. I could not devour this one fast enough because I needed to know what had really happened to Molly Clarke. Thanks to NetGalley for an early look at this one. You can go on this thrill ride when this book is released in September 2020! (In the meantime, if you haven't read The Night Before by the same author, check it out!)

Nic is estranged from her mother, Molly, after a tragic accident has put a wedge in the family. But when Molly goes missing, she doesn’t believe that her mother has written the notes saying she has decided to walk away from her family.
Don’t Look for Me is such a great domestic suspense novel. The book was filled well crafted characters that carried off a believably messed up scenario. With this twisted story, I was drawn in from the very beginning and captivated through the final, thrilling chapters. •

This. This is what I have been wanting for a while now. A book that grabs you and doesn't let go. A story that you can't tell up from down. A book that will have you guessing all the way through.

My mind was reeling throughout this book. I wasn't sure who was who. I wasn't sure if I could handle the answer and the possible ending. There was no way I could put this book down until I had all the pieces. It was like playing connect the dots, but some of the dots weren't quite easy to find.

The ending. The reader sees the ending coming. It's given to you a little early... until it isn't. That little plot twist left me equally parts scratching my head and stunned. I wasn't sure how I felt about that thrown in right when things were coming to a head. At first I was like, holy.... But then I was like, did the author really need to throw that in? Then I went back to the holy part and back to not sure about it. I warred with myself for a short time. I still don't know how I felt about it. However, it's certainly a wrench I didn't see coming.

Let me add that this book has a very heavy creepy vibe. The creep factor is high with this one. Be "warned". It's surely to give you goosebumps and have your heart pounding.

This was one of Wendy Walker's twistiest thrillers! I absolutely loved it. A story of a mother grieving the life of her dead child for 5 years drives home from visiting her living son's football game at a boarding school and her car is found abandoned on the side of the road and eventually, a note surfaces telling her family not to look for her. But her daughter doesn't give up hope that something happened to her mom and goes lengths to find answers.

This book was a very suspenseful and thrilling ride!

This is my first book by Wendy Walker and I am blown away! I was sucked in from the very beginning and didn't see the twists and turns coming. This is an excellent story that leaves you wanting to read more of her books. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

A creepy, suspenseful psychological thriller that will keep you guessing. When Nic's mother Molly appears to have just walked away from her life, Nic just can't believe it's true. Molly and her family experienced the tragic death of their youngest daughter Annie 5 years ago and the family has never been the same since. So did Molly really think that leaving her family behind was the best option?

Since this book is told from both Molly and Nic's point of view, we know what actually happened to Molly... which is unbelievably creepy. Nic is determined to figure out where her mother is and whether she is dead or alive. As Nic's search continues, she finds that almost everyone in the small town where her mom disappeared is telling her lies and/or not telling her everything. The one thing we don't know is who is the real bad guy... there are a lot of options in this book. I figured it out by the end, but was definitely surprised by some of the twists and revelations.

4.5 (Because I'm one of those people who believes nothing is perfect and that true beauty is in imperfection.) And, this book is beautifully done. Twisted, twisty, at times downright demented with a diverse array of characters that range from empathetic to nightmarishly nefarious -- everyone's suspect and you're all in at the conclusion of sentence one. It's a little too long to read in one night, but read it in one night I did, until the wee hour of 3:00 AM. This would make a movie that I'd actually shell out theater $ to see.

A huge thank you to Netgalley for sharing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have read and loved Wendy's previous books and Don't Look for Me is one of her best!!

Molly is suffering from a horrible tragedy. Her family is going through it as well but they don't make it any easier for her. They are actually horrible to her. Then Molly goes missing and the hunt for her starts. Let the thrilling ride begin!!

The story is told from two different perspectives, Molly (mom) and Nicole (daughter). I loved this because it added even more suspense to this book.

There were so many questions running through my mind while reading. I could not wait to get the answers. Everyone was a suspect and I mean everyone. There were many times I thought I had it all figured out but guess what?! I was so wrong!

The ending...I didn't see that coming! Don't Look for Me is a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, have you biting your fingernails and making you forget about your responsibilities because you can't put this book down!! Wow!!

I HIGHLY recommend this book!!

Many thanks to Netgalley and publisher for the advanced copy.
