Incredibly cute picture book, telling a sweet story of a girl called Keelee, who chances upon a furry beast that went out exploring and lost their way. Keelee and the beast quickly become friends, and she helps him get back to his family.

The art is not only cute, it's very colourful: a nice little package. Perfect for reading to your son or daughter of choice. If I might be so bold - please consider creating a furry little growl for the beast, it should go down a storm.

This book tells the story of what seems to be an unlikely friendship. The book is great for early readers as. it contains rhymes, discusses. directions and times of day, and shows different sizes. A good book for little readers.

While books about friendships are great, ones that meander and don't really seem to have a point other than "oh, look at the pretty pictures" are less so. The pictures are cute, but the meter is clunky. The "plot" is meandering and contradictory at the end (ie: is the animal's house several days' journey away, or just around the corner?).

As picture books go, this one may appeal to some kids for its cute, almost Disney-esque pictures, but if you have a choice, I'd leave this one on the shelf.

This story is an adorable picture book! The illustrations are bright and eye-catching. The story has the perfect amount of rhyming but still tells a story that will engage a child. I highly recommend it!

Lost Beast, Found Friend by Josh Trujillo is a cute story about a girl who helps a new beastly friend find his way home. The illustrations are so vibrant and engaging, and the characters are very unique. It follows a simple rhyming pattern and has just the sweetest story. I can see it being a hit for very young children to emerging readers. What an imaginative adventure - so vivid and fun!

This was a fun and COLORFUL picture book about a little girl (I love that she is bald!) and her new beast friend. The whole story and presentation is incredibly cute. My only complaint is that I am not a fan of rhyming in children's books, but that won't deter me from using this in a storytime in the future.

First, the illustrations are bright and colorful and really draw in the reader. I LOVE THEM.

Second, the story is simple and really easy to follow. The font is really easy to read, also, which is a big deal for me. I like how there are also opposites thrown in - up and down, left and right, morning and night - so that kids can learn opposites and have fun while doing it.

Third, I usually get annoyed at rhyming books, but this one had just the right amount and it was really fun to read!

This book was really cute; Keelee finds a purple beast that appears to be lost. The two of them go on an adventure across the island to return the beast to its home. The illustrations were colourful and vibrant, and the rhyming made this book fun to read.

A cute colorful story about an unlikely friendship between a little girl and beast. I enjoyed the rhyming structure of the book. I would recommend this for very young readers, ages 1 to 3 as they will enjoy the vibrant pictures and tempo.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First off i know this is a children's book. All the bold colors and rhyming are great. But I am confused with the story. It seems it is ok to go off by yourself and be gone for 2 days with a complete stranger.!?? What?? Not in my lifetime! I get it but I think a discussion would be needed. 3 stars

Lost Beast, Found Friend by Josh Trujillo shows children in a fun way that the unknown doesn’t always have to be scary and just because someone is different from you, it doesn’t mean that you can’t be best friends. The illustrations are very cute and accompany the text very well. I’ve always been partial to rhyming children’s books so I enjoyed that aspect as well.

This book was a cute story of Keelee and a beast who become friends over fruit. The rhymes worked well and made this a very quick read. Would suggest for younger readers. Beautiful illustrations.

A simple story with a sweet story and colorful illustrations that toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy. I read this to the 2 and 4 year olds that I nanny and it kept their attention the entire book. They liked the rhyming rhythm and the illustrations kept them engaged. They requested reading it again and were excited to act out the directional words of up, down, left and right. This is a book that I will add to my children's library when it is released. I am grateful to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a short read but definitely an adorable one. The drawing is crisp, cute and alluring. Definitely a thumbs up. The colour palette is tasteful with vivid and lively colours. Not to mention the cover is attractive and cute which push me to read this book.

The story is charming. Human and animal relationship are certainly adorable. This teaches that beasts are good, kind and loving animals. I felt such a warm vibe from the book.

Conclusion:
This book is sweet, adventurous, genuine and free. Recommended!

This is a colourful story, told in rhyme, about a girl who lives on an island and discovers a beast eating fruit near her village. Realizing that the beast is from the other side of the island, she sets off to return him to his family.

The story is super simple, and I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to get out of it. If it's supposed to be about a blossoming friendship, it sort of failed. We basically just see Keelee and Beast moving through a tropical setting. It's also a bit confusing in that it took them two days to return Beast to his village... and yet the story ends with:

Beast lived not too far away.
So, when they wanted, they could play!

The meter is pretty clunky in places. The illustrations are rather bold and colourful, but they're also a bit strange. Keelee is supposed to be an "island girl", but she's kind of a featureless grey humanoid. Beast looks sort of like a fuzzy purple bison with pink horns. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so perhaps the story takes place on Earth... but it's hard to say for sure.

Overall, this is a bit forgettable. Sure, Keelee and Beast may have become friends, but they apparently did so in some sort of time warp. If it takes you two days to walk to your friend's village, I can't imagine that you're going to be having a lot of playdates.
