This is a fun story with a good plot. Bettina is hostess for the Knit and Nibble Knitting club. During their discussion, Roland thought Diefenbach, the current Mayor of Arborville, had excelllent ideas, whereas Nell said he was distressing becauce he wants to replace the Community Gardens with a high rise. Bettina's husband, Wilford, comes in to suggest it's time for tea and goodies. Pamela announces there is a hand knit sweater on her tree. The Yarnvaders are a secret group trying to save the trees which the the town wants to cut down by covering the red X with a sweater!

After snacks, the police arrive and arrest Roland, one of the knitters. Bettina and Pamela have more coffee after everyone leaves and decide they need to help save Roland. The next day they find that Roland is the prime suspect for the murder of Mayor Diefenbach, who has been murdered in his own kitchen by being hit in the head by something very heavy. Bettina and Pamela figure out several possible culprits, and visit several people who might not like the Mayor. They sometimes get in trouble while questioning, and near the end one of them decides who the murderer is, and puts herself into a very dangerous position.

My major complaint about the book is that there seem to be too many coffee breaks with long descriptions of the dishes and making the coffee as well as cooking procedures. There is a recipe at the end of the book of Lemon Yogurt Easter Cake with Cream Cheese Icing. In the story part there are three pages telling how Pamela made the cake. However, I want to make it clear that I liked the story and the characters.

A Fatal Yarn is a great addition to this series. The knitting group has to save one of their own after the grisly murder of a local man sets the town on edge.
This is a light cozy mystery, with plenty of action to keep the reader anxiously waiting for the big reveal.

This is the fifth book in the series, and it was just as good as the previous ones.
I am not usually a fan of "knitting" cozies, but I quite enjoy this one.
The characters are appealing, and the whodunit kept me guessing until the final reveal (I did not guess correctly!)
I look forward to reading the next in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

It's a cute installment in the series. Cats, knitting, food and yarnbombing makes even more fun. The plot was interesting and I love several of the characters as well as the dynamics of the knitting group.

Diefenbach is found and Knit & Nibble member, Roland is accused of murder. Pamela and Bettina solve this twisted little mystery using their individual gifts. Bettina newspaper reporter charm and Pamela’s blunt mom questioning get to the bottom of this mystery. Although Diefenbach has many reasons and suspects for murder, Cassie is a true mystery with no reason to be found. The yarn jackets placed on the trees lining the streets was of little help. Someone was leaving obnoxious notes about clean yards and garbage cans. Keeping family secrets is the basis of the two murders Pamela solves and clears Roland of charges. Enjoyed Pamela's spunk.

Knitting, food, mysteries, and antics make this a fun series. A good read with an interesting reveal of the culprit.

This is the 5th installment in the Knit and Nibble Mystery series. Someone has been putting sweaters on trees in Arborville but not all the trees just the trees that have a red X which are slotted to be removed because they interfere with the power lines. The Knit and Nibble group is meeting and Pamela and Bettina asks the other members if they know anything about it. They learn the mayor (who supported the cutting of the trees) has been murdered as the police arrive at their meeting to arrest of they own knitters Rolland De Camp. Just because Rolland was seen arguing with the mayor this does not make him a murderer. Pamela and Bettina set out to find the truth about the murder. An enjoyable read and good mystery. The reveal of the murderer was interesting and this was a great addition to this series. Recommend.

A Fatal Yarn is the first book I've read by Peggy Erhart. As it is fifth in the series I'm sure I've missed out on some interesting details.

Roland, a member of the Knit and Nibble knitting group is arrested on suspicion of murder during a weekly meeting of the group. This leaves the whole group shocked and worried. Bettina and Pamala start digging to find answers to help their friend. They are sure that Roland is innocent and will stop at nothing to find answers to prove it.

This book is a good, fun read and I enjoyed it. As per usual in a cozy mystery there are knitting tips and a yummy recipe. Such fun!

When sweaters start showing up on trees in Arborville, Pamela and Bettina ask the Knit and Nibble members if they know anything about them. Since it’s a secret organization, no one would tell them even if they were included. As the evening wears on, the police arrive and arrest the sole male member of their group for murdering the town’s mayor. Now Pamela and Bettina have two mysteries to solve and they think they may be related. Maybe even related to another death in town a few weeks back. Will they be able o figure out the connection and fit the pieces of the puzzle together and clear their friend, or will they be the next target?

A fun series that will have you craving pastries, planning a knitting project and trying to figure out whodunit before all is revealed.

I felt like the storyline of this book moved a bit slow. Maybe because every other page the characters are eating, lots of pastries and other meals, I've never seen a book so obsessed with food that wasn't a cookbook. The mystery is interesting and the reveal of the killer was interesting but the rest of the book is slow. I enjoyed the knitting and yarn bombing that goes on. #AFatalYarn #NetGalley

I received a free copy of A FATAL YARN (Book 5 of the Knit & Nibble Mysteries) by Peggy Ehrhart in exchange for an honest review. Spring has arrived in Arborville, New Jersey, and Easter is just around the corner. Pamela Paterson meets with her knitting group one evening and learns that the town’s mayor has been murdered. Before the end of the meeting, police arrive and arrest one of the group’s members, Rolland DeCamp for the murder. Pamela, Bettina, and the group all know that Rolland is innocent; he’s harmless. Since the police don’t seem to be looking for anyone and seem satisfied with the flimsy evidence they have against Rolland, Pamela and Bettina begin their own investigation. At the same time, they realize a yarn-bombing trend in town may be related to the mayor’s death; the trees marked for removal as a result of one of the mayor’s programs are all wearing sweaters and scarves covering their marks.

I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend this book to fans of the series. I recommend the entire series to fans of Peggy Ehrhart and to those who enjoy cozy mysteries featuring murder, small towns, knitting, editors, newspaper reporting, pets, good friends, family, neighbors, tag sales, and food.
