This book is book 2.5 in the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti with help from authors Alexandra Ivy and Kat Martin. An anthology of three stories by three authors about three women who grew up in foster care and are fighting for their lives and loves as adults. Meri Jones and her young daughter run from trouble in L.A. and end up in Spokane where ex-cop Ian Brodie hires her to help him with his father's farmhouse. Meri has a dangerous secret that explodes when Melanie Cassidy spots two men trying to kidnap a young boy tutors and she rams their car. Melanie's ex, Det Gray Hawkins appears and rescues them both and she must trust him to help investigate a conspiracy of dirty cops. Michelle had a rough adolescence and is finally content in Portland until two men break into her home , threaten her and send her mentally unstable mother on a blackmail spree that Michelle needs to stop. Michelle's ex Evan Boldon is now the sheriff and he needs to stop Michelle's stalker. Even though these three stories are loosely related, the three authors do a great job of creating full and interesting characters in each story and each author brings in characters from a current series. Lots of suspense, angst and a little romance to keep readers interested. Anthologies are a great way to read new authors. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and authors for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. |

Great story. Easy read and highly suspenseful. Characters had great interaction and loved the build between them. |
A fun collection of romantic suspense stories, each novella tells the story of a woman and the man that comes into her life, or back into her life, in a time of need. As each couple go through turmoils and some harrowing experiences, they find a HEA that is satisfying to the reader. All the stories have a connection, but are written in such a way as they can be read as a standalone. From three great authors, I recommend these novellas for any reader that loves romantic suspense stories. **I was gifted "Pivot" by Netgalley and Kensington Books** I voluntarily leave my review based on my reading. 4.5 Stars! |

I don't normally like anthologies, but I really enjoyed this one. Unlike most anthologies the three main characters flow through out each story. I also enjoyed the way each story built upon the one/s before it. I thought it was really unique and interesting. I loved the guest appearances in each story it really made them more interesting. |

Three fun reads in one. Each is a stand-alone with a different author but they all tie together with characters crossing between them. Each was a quick easy read and overall fun for a weekend in quarantine. |
These three novellas had overlapping characters and a bit of the plot but were each a separate tale. They were three great novellas about women who had been the system but came out strong fighters, both for the underdog and for their own happiness. This book was extremely well written, has well developed characters, a common theme / intriguing plot line, and overall is just a really great book. |
I'm not usually a fan of multiple author compliations but these were actually really good and although not my typical genre was very pleasantly surprised. I would totally read again. Thanks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. |

Pivot is a collection of related stories written by different authors. Pivot is written by three very talented authors: Kat Martin, Alexander Ivy and Rebecca Zanetti. I love reading these authors. I believe that this is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to them if you have not already discovered them. |
A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books/Zebra for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is an anthology with 3 short stories. The stories have a minor connection, but can be read as stand alone. All the stories either deal with adoptees, or parents with drug problems. They were all cute, but my favorite was Echoes of the Past. entertaining 3.5 stars |
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. This contains three interconnected stories of three women who knew each other as foster kids and now are all facing danger that brings them in contact with three strong men. I am not familiar with Kat Martin and she had the first story with Meri and Ian Brodie. He has a bunch of brothers and they have their own series of books but is not necessary for understanding this story. The second story is from Rebecca Zanetti and I have read most of her books and enjoyed them! So, I was excited when expecting another bad to show up for Michelle and Evan and it turns out that he is Wolfe from her Ops series and we even see a brief appearance from Logan and Mercy from her Dark Protectors series!! So, have to say that I am somewhat biased and loved this book! The last story is with Melanie and Gray who are trying to help a young boy stay safe from some dirty cops who are working with a drug dealer. I wish a bit more was explained about their past but we do know that Gray took off when he felt too much for Melanie and didn't want to lose control and fall for her. All three stories were filled with action and drama and it was hard to put the book down! Each couple was fun to read about and likable. You will see the characters in each other's story as they are friends and the guys know each other and work well together. Adding Clarence Wolfe to the second story was just a little teaser as I have been waiting for his story and love him with the dog who loves to get drunk, Roscoe, and the kitten called Kat. Only thing that I wished for was a group reunion with all of them together at the end but just glad that they each got their HEA!! |
3 superb stories by 3 amazing authors Against the Heart (The Brodies of Alaska #0.5) by Kat Martin Echoes of the Past by Alexandra Ivy this is loosely connected to The Agency series. Shaken (Deep Ops #2.5) by Rebecca Zanetti I have read both The Agency and the Deep Op’s series, but The Brodies of Alaska by Kat Martin is new to me as is the author. Three novellas of three women who bonded as girl and now face the greatest challenges of their lives. Pivot is a romantic suspense that kept me reading throughout. Each story was well written, the characters were engaging ant the stories were captivating. I already own everything by both Rebecca Zanetti and Alexandra Ivy and now I have added Kat Martin to my collection. If you haven’t read these authors I highly recommend you do. |
Great book. It's nice too have short stories. Each book had thrilling suspense and danger. Each book has a strong, protective hero and strong damsels in distress. |

Oh my! I loved these stories. I love how they all went together and how some of my favorite people from other books peeked in! 3 strong women meet the men of their dreams. All the adventure and sexiness that is trademark for these authors in 1 book! Yes yes! I read and reviewed this advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley |
Three titans of romantic suspense pairing up to create an anthology of all-new novellas? I was over the moon excited for this book! Sadly, this anthology fell flat for me. I think the hardest part was KNOWING all three of these ladies can write a better story. All three of these novellas are connected in small ways, so they’re better read in order. Also, the title of the story kept making me think of “Friends”. Against the Heart by Kat Martin – 2.5 Stars You have to set aside realism to enjoy this book. The heroine has her major ditzy moments and basically decides to trust the hero with her safety and the safety of her young daughter because he’s hot. I also didn’t feel like the hero knew anything real about the heroine even by the end of the book. He did know she had a rockin’ bod though, which he thought about basically the entire novella. Overall the hero was sweet to the heroine and I did like the secondary couple’s story. Shaken by Rebecca Zanetti – Three Stars Rebecca is by far my favorite author of the three, so maybe I’m biased but I enjoyed her novellas the most. I think second chance love stories work really well in novella format. The hero was a hunk and a half. Yes, please, more hopelessly devoted heroes. The heroine, on the other hand, made me want to pull my hair out. Her continual lack of trust in the hero and her faith in her drug addict mother made it hard to root for her. The action was on point in this novella though and so were the sexy times. Echoes of the Past by Alexandra Ivy – 1.5 Stars You can’t have a novella where the hero left the heroine because he’s hung up on an old girlfriend who is now his sister-in-law (ick), and not have ANY groveling. Come on. I didn’t connect to either the hero or the heroine and the little boy the heroine rescued was only in the story for, like, four pages. The novella was boring and rushed and I struggled to finish it. **I received an ARC of this book in order to provide an honest review** |

I sought out this book specifically for the Rebecca Zanetti story, as I have thoroughly enjoyed her Deep Ops series. I was amused and surprised to find that her story, Shaken, also had cameo appearances by characters from her Dark Protectors series. A great touch! The lead characters in the 3 stories connected in their younger years. Additionally, some of the supporting characters are connected via other storylines. The characters are appealing enough to make you want to check out the other works by these authors that introduced them. Authors Kat Martin and Alexandra Ivy are not as familiar to me as Rebecca Zanetti. Although I enjoyed all 3 stories in this collection, I loved the Zanetti story, liked the Ivy story and found the Martin story to be OK. It just wasn't as compelling to me as the other 2 stories. All three were well-written and well edited. Overall, very entertaining! |
PIVOT By Kat Martin, Rebecca Zanetti, & Alexandra Ivy I had not read anything by Kat Martin and Rebecca Zanetti. I have been a fan of Alexandra Ivy for years however. I was very impressed with the writing in this anthology. We go from one novella smoothly into another. Some of the heros and heroines cross to the next one. I will be picking up other books from Kat and Rebecca now that I have sampled their work. I think this is a 4 star book. I was given this advance readers copy from Netgalley for my fair and honest review. |
I have a love and hate relationship with anthologies – there will almost always be some stories, that will always miss their mark with me; but does that ever stop me from reading them? Nope. Mostly because they are easy and fun to read well! I actually requested access to this title because while it had been ages since I read anything by Kat Martin; but I did remember that I definitely enjoyed her books; all romantic suspense novels! The three novellas within this book – are by three different authors – are all connected with each other. The female protagonists are all friends; but are all in some sort of trouble. All the three novellas didn’t actually read like novellas; but like three full length novels – they all had that edge of suspense with a whole lot of romance for my cold dead heart to soak in for at least a little while! All the three novellas had a strong foundation + a brilliantly thought out plot with strong protagonists and an engrossing mystery and some very sizzling romances – and if you are wonderfully why I am reiterating this TWICE, it’s because I went & ended up picking Alexandra Ivy’s backlist books to read and will be picking up books by the other two authors; Kat Martin & Rebecca Zanetti as well! *wink* |
If you weren't a fan of these three authors before, you will be after reading the sexy, suspense-filled, inter-connected stories in this new anthology. I couldn't put it down. The main characters in all three stories are vividly portrayed with realistic obstacles in their way. The women are in danger but not your stereotypical damsels in distress. While the three heroes are all alphas, set on protecting the women they love, those same women are not about to twiddle their thumbs on the sidelines. They hold their own with strength and determination, especially when their loved ones are at risk. And the men, warriors all, are gentle and loving with the ones who hold their hearts. I especially loved Ian's relationship with Meri's four-year-old daughter, Lily. I was impressed with the flow and continuity of the three novellas, each written by one of the three authors. While each novella has a beginning and end, together, they form what feels like a full length book, with story and character overlap. By the time I reached the end, it was easy to forget that these characters aren't part of the same fictional world but, rather, are parts of worlds created separately by each of the authors. I'm already well acquainted with Kat Martin's books (I've been reading her for years) and enjoyed getting to know another Brodie cousin (I somehow missed this story the first time around (in the novella Against the Heart). While I know of Rebecca Zanetti and Alexandra Ivy, I had not yet read their books. These new novellas, which include ties to series of their own, were enough to have me correcting that oversight. I'll be taking a closer look at Ivy's books soon but the first thing I did after finishing Pivot was to download the three books in Zanetti's Deep Ops series. I cannot wait to read Raider's and Wolfe's stories, especially Wolfe's, a secondary character in Pivot who darn near stole his entire novella. 4.5 Stars *ARC received via NetGalley *All opinions expressed are unbiased and my own. |
