After reading A SIMPLE WEDDING, I couldn't wait to dive into the next book. I was so glad that I did! Jason & Tara were beautifully chiseled and their story was beautiful! I felt like I was right in the center of the story. Definitely looking forward to more from this author!

A Cottage Wedding by Leigh Duncan is a heartwarming, romantic read. I thoroughly enjoyed the setting of Heart's Landing and the romance between Tara and Jason. The best part is that I didn't feel left out by not having read the first book. It's a standalone novel. The descriptions are vivid and as a reader, I really felt like I was in Heart's Landing with the characters.. Intrigued to read other books by this author. Very engaging.. The perfect beach read.

I enjoyed the first book in the Heart's Landing series, so wanted to listen to this one when I saw it available. Heart's Landing is a great wedding destination and want to maintain their #1 standing in Weddings Today Magazine. When they hear that the editor and head honcho of the magazine will be visiting them as a finalist in the contest, they are ready to impress. Instead of the boss, Tara Stewart, a junior writer is sent with one task, to debunk the romantic legend surrounding Heart's Landing. Can Jason Heart, the handsome descendant of the town's founder, and current owner of the Captain's Cottage, convince her that the legend is true?

I liked both Tara and Jason. They both had a lot to lose. Tara needed the promotion that her boss promised her if she could find some dirt, but she has a hard time seeing beyond the legend. Jason not only needs to save his business, but that of all the local businesses that could be destroyed if the town's reputation is ruined. I enjoyed seeing both of them fight against the attraction and love at first sight they experienced. This is a heartwarming and entertaining romance. The characters in town are delightful and I love the sense of community and how they band together. Each book highlights a different character, but all the others are still there playing a supporting role. Heart's Landing is so well described, I can actually picture the quaint businesses and shops, along with the seaside setting. Leigh Duncan has a nice easy writing style with great and natural dialogue. There was some conflict in the story, but it is a romance, so of course they do get their happily ever after. I look forward to the next book in this series to see which character will get their HEA next

Totally a Hallmark movie story.. Charming town with a journalist there to possibly hurt the town. Young woman charged to show him around and convince him it is a great place.

Just another wedding?
Best-selling author and award winner Leigh Duncan presents another wedding in "A Cottage Wedding. A Heart's Landing Novel from Hallmark Publishing". Heart's Landing is not only a small town, but also a wedding destination where Jason Heart who descended from the town's founding family as well as the business owners whose primary goal is to offer the best for the couples that want to wed in Heart's Landing are preparing themselves for the arrival of Executive Editor of the Wedding Today Magazine. Jason is tasked to show the editor all the positive sides of the town. Instead it is Tara Stewart, a junior writer, who shows up. Tara's goal doesn't seem to be to write a positive report, but to destroy the positive reputation of the wedding destination and the "rumors" about Captain Thaddeus Heart that are inked to Heart's Landing. The question is who will succeed with their goals and what will be the final outcome.
This was the third book by Leigh Duncan which I read. I really enjoyed it with it's believable, strong and charming characters. It is a funny, heartwarming story, a clean romance and a relaxing and enjoyable read which I highly recommend to all readers who love romances with a wedding topic. And, once again, Hallmark Publishing included one of their special recipes, this time the one for Orange Balsamic Roasted Carrots.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was the perfect addition to the Heart’s Landing series! I loved getting to spend more time in Heart's Landing -- the number one wedding destination! Tara and Jason became such a cute couple, and the book is your typical Hallmark love story. This is a perfect read when you find yourself in need of a happy ending and a little insta-love. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

A Hallmark setting is always a good story. I enjoyed reading this book like I enjoy a hallmark movie. It was fun to read. I enjoyed the two different love stories in this book.

I volunteered to read this book through netgalley, in exchange for an honest review. It is written good and the characters are described well. The pace of the story is slow. I keep putting it down, but I plan to read more by this author. This book just wasn't my cup of tea. But I do recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This is the second book in the “Heart’s Landing” series from Hallmark, and I’m hoping that there will be at least a couple of more. This small town is the perfect setting for a Hallmark book. I love the fact that the whole town revolves around weddings, and I already have some favorite characters from this series.

We not only follow Tara and Jason’s romance in this book, but learn more about the history of Heart’s Landing in Tara’s reading of the old journals of Thaddeus and Mary’s diaries and journals. (In fact, I’d love to read a book just about them.) I didn’t want to like Tara at the beginning of this book, but came to love her character more with every chapter. Jason and Tara’s romance has some rocky times, but as in all good Hallmark books, it’s fun cheering them on to their happily-ever-after. Leigh Duncan has done a nice job in this series creating a town and characters that we can love.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

What if you could plan the “perfect” wedding? Heart’s Landing would certainly be the venue of choice for such a wonderfully special day. If this sounds like an ideal storyline, then “A Cottage Wedding” is the perfect reading choice for you. Plan your visit to historic Heart’s Landing, where weddings are the focus of every business in town.

When Tara arrives in Heart’s Landing with laptop in hand, she is determined to craft the perfect story that will land her a coveted promotion at Weddings Today magazine. However, Tara did not count on falling in love with the town, its people, and with Jason, the manager of Captain’s Cottage, the foremost wedding venue in town. However, Tara’s “secret” mission threatens to destroy the town’s reputation as the most desirable wedding location in the country, as well as her relationship with Jason. Read this book to find out whether Tara follows through with her plans. Readers who enjoy a fluffy, clean, and fun romance set in a picturesque town will flock to this novel of heartbreak and happiness, peopled with interesting characters who believe “the best is yet to be.”
I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I was so excited for the second novel in the Hearts Landing Series by Leigh Duncan! A Cottage Wedding did not disappoint!

For this novel, there were two love stories going. There was the one between the main characters Jason and Tara. The second is the love story of the two original owners of The Captain’s Cottage and the romantic legend that the whole town revolves around.

Tara works for a bridal magazine and is sent to derail Hearts Landing as the number one wedding destination. A title that Hearts Landing has held for years. Jason is the current owner of The Captain’s Cottage and the descendent of the captain and his wife. Jason becomes Tara’s tour guide for the time she is there. Tara quickly realizes the people who live in this small town truly enjoy creating the perfect weddings for each and every bride. She gets hands on experience helping brides and participating as entertainment at weddings. Of course, there is a beautifully written romance between the two.

This story contained Duncan’s gorgeous, descriptive writing when it comes to emotions and actions. It also delved deeper into the history of the actual town of Hearts Landing.

I found this story to be a little slower starting than the first novel in the series, but equally enjoyable. While this story is part of a series, it is completely readable as a standalone. If you love romance, weddings, small coastal towns, history, and tales of the seas, this story is perfect for you.

I received an electronic advanced reader copy from Hallmark Publishing through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

You can never go wrong with a Hallmark romance. Exciting setting, engaging characters, and an ending that you'd expect but still can appreciate for its charm

A Cottage Wedding by Leigh Duncan is the second book in the Hearts Landing series. A charming, delightful story about finding love.

Jason Heart is the owner of the Captain's Cottage, a wedding destination set in Rhode Island. Jason has a commitment to making every wedding special and will do whatever it takes to make the bride and grooms day a success. Senior editor Regina Charm is set to come to Hearts Landing for her review for the Weddings Today top spot. After Regina's wedding fell apart, she decides to send Tara Stewart to expose the truth behind the myths. But Tara has trouble from the start. She finds everything in Hearts Landing to be beyond what she expected. She combs the archives, looking for any discrepancy that would dethrone Hearts Landing as the number one wedding destination.

But Jason becomes her tour guide and as they are thrown together time and time again, they find themselves instantly attracted to one another.

I have so enjoyed the Hallmark books, this one being the second one to The Simple Wedding. Leigh Duncan is a master story teller as she weaves feelings and sentiments throughout the story. Her characters are well rounded and the secondary characters add much to the tale. A sweet clean story that makes you want to come back for more.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

Very heartwarming story, easy to love and relate to characters. Very much a Hallmark type story, and just what I needed to read right now. I'm very interested in the rest of this series. I'm a big fan of small town, and this quaint Rhode Island town is no different. I fell for these characters so fast! Quick, entertaining read.

A Cottage Wedding by Leigh Duncan
Book #2: Heart’s Landing Series
Source: NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing
Rating: 3½/5 stars

Tara Stewart feels she has sacrificed more than enough for her career. She lost her no-good boyfriend, she’s disappointed her parents, she’s lived in a super small apartment, and completed the most mind-numbing tasks for two years in order to work her way up the ladder. Tara’s ultimate goal, the thing she has sacrificed so much to achieve, is be a real reporter for Weddings Today magazine.

For two years, Tara has toiled in the trenches doing whatever mindless task comes along. She has yet to do any real writing and she’s almost given up hope of ever breaking away from the pack and achieving her goals. Thankfully, and sadly, her boss has an axe to grind with the lovely little town of Heart’s Landing and she’s willing to give Tara a shot at reporting, on one condition, Tara must willfully and knowingly tear the town apart in her final article.

Anyone and everyone in the wedding/destination wedding business knows about Heart’s Landing and their impeccable reputation. In fact, for many, many years Heart’s Landing has been ranked as the nation’s number one destination wedding location and that ranking has helped the town prosper and thrive. Everyone also knows that the town isn’t in the wedding business for the money (completely!) but to provide brides and grooms with their dreams made real in the form of a perfect wedding.

According to Tara’s assignment, she is to do three things: 1) find and note any and all issues/problems/failures on the part of the people and businesses in Heart’s Landing; 2) disprove the theory/story surrounding the town’s founder and his love for his bride and; 3) absolutely ensure Heart’s Landing loses their number one ranking. Tara’s disgruntled boss has made it perfectly clear that her (Tara’s) future as a “real” journalist at Weddings Today is secure if she accomplishes her three tasks.

Because the ranking of wedding destination sites is so important, Heart’s Landing has spent the last months refining their game and polishing and primping in preparing for a visit from Weddings Today. From the moment she arrives in town, Tara is hard-pressed to find fault with the people, the businesses, and/or the accommodations. In fact, Tara quickly realizes her job is going to be far harder than she anticipated. The people of Heart’s Landing are genuinely kind and care about the brides and grooms they serve. Providing a perfect wedding isn’t just a gimmick for Heart’s Landing but a way of life and one they have proudly maintained for years.

Tara’s guide through her stay is Jason Heart, owner and operator of Heart’s Landing’s most requested wedding site, the Captain’s “cottage.” The site is old, well maintained, beautifully ornate while not being gaudy, and the perfect location for a wedding. From the moment he meets Tara, Jason is wary of her intentions but as the days begin to pass, he lowers his guard, trusts her, and even helps her with her research. Of course, Jason is oblivious to Tara’s true intentions which makes her betrayal so much more devastating.

The Bottom Line: I liked this book, but if this series is going to continue, there’s going to need to be a change up in the plots and plans. This is the second book in the series, and both have had, as their central plot, a woman coming to town under false pretenses. I want more from this series because its gorgeous location and cast of local characters deserve more!

A really enjoyable story that held my interest from start to finish. I didn’t want to put it down—just had to know how Tara solved the dilemma of completing her journalism assignment and getting her promotion which conflicts with the feelings that develop rapidly for Jason, the current owner of The Cottage. I felt Miss Duncan did an excellent job of introducing the town business members through Tara’s eyes. Makes one want to visit and maybe sample Nick’s cakes. Will Tara find evidence to destroy the history behind the town’s founder? Can she be true to herself and still complete her assignment— get her promotion? Have to read it to find out!
