A huge thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I was so drawn to this title when I saw that it was a (homo)erotica graphic novel. As someone who have read graphic yaoi/BL manga/webtoons, I’ve come to enjoy these kinds of stories so upon reading the first page of Cheat(er) Code, I was not disappointed!

The synopsis was enough to intrigue me as we follow Kennedy who finds that his boyfriend of six years have been cheating on him and ends up sucked into the world of his video games mixed all together because of a glitch.

This story is every fan’s dream! It’s almost like having harem of your favorite fictional characters!

I loved and very much enjoyed how verrryyyy erotic this graphic novel was as well as realistic. The novel addressed topics of proper pre-intercourse preparation like douching and lube use. Our main character isn’t like those stereotypical fit characters that we usually see in books as Ken is not ripped since he has a gut and he also calls out someone for size-shaming him. I feel like this kind of representation is so so important.

The story overall was so much fun to read! I love all the other characters and the puns and banter they shared with Ken all throughout! I also loved the art style. The details especially of the video game world and the characters are so good! The expressions and different personalities added to how realistic it was. Besides video game world setting, everything else felt real. The relationships and the heartfelt conversations between the characters were genuine and helpful and I love that those experiences, no matter how odd, helped Kennedy move on from that part of him and find the closure he needed.

I love the diversity in terms of the body types and species in this. All the different sex positions and kinks featured were interesting as well.

Overall, I absolutely loved this, I had such a good laugh and I’m hoping to read more graphic novels like this! Definitely would recommend for those who enjoy stories like this!

This comes out on Nov. 24!

Title: Cheater Code
Written by: S.A Foxe
Genre: Erotica
Publisher: Oni Press
Format: ebook
Year: 2020
Rating: 3.7/5 stars

So I have just finished S.A Foxe's Cheater Code and the first thing that I would say about this book is that it was an interesting read. Foxe have tried to present a gay romance story in a bit differently. Though I have read works with homosexual protagonist but this is the first time, I tried a gay romance comics. I loved the concept of the book very much. It is amazing to witness how the author has tried to infuse the two worlds. Unfortunately I can't reveal much but one thing I can assure you- it is a good one time read.

The story centers around Seth and Kennedy who are in a romantic relationship for more than six years. One day Kennedy discovers that Seth is actually cheating on him with another man. Kennedy finds it very insulting and it infuriates to such an extent that they had a slight altercation. As a result, they broke up and Seth decides to leave the house where they were living together.

Now cheated and alone, Kennedy too decides to move on, but then something happens for which he was not prepared. Thunder roars and it changes his life forever.

Now to know what happened next you have to purchase the copy. You can pre-order it right now.

My Take: I loved the way the author has presented the story. The incidents follows a proper sequence and the story runs in medium pace. Besides, I also liked the illustrations very much. But, as far as the storyline is concerned, I was hoping for a more complex story. I think there is much scope for experimentation with the storyline on the part of the author. If the author can make it a bit more complex and compact, the work will be attain perfection. Also, It feels like the story is following a particular pattern which makes the reading experience a bit boring. Other than that If I talk about the illustration, it is superb! and the overall presentation is also quite amazing.

Overall, it was a fascinating read. I give this work 3.7 stars and recommend it to all.

I am thankful to Oni press and Netgalley for providing me with the eARC.

Happy Reading

Wow, this was not what I was expecting! I didn’t realize it would be so graphic and detailed but I loved the story. Kennedy was such a soft cinnamon roll of a character and watching him grow in such a weird way was fantastic. Honestly I wouldn’t mind getting thrown into some of my favorite video games. I definitely think I’ll reread this in the future when I want something sexy and fantastical.

I was really excited to read Cheater Code. The art looked adorable and as a gamer, I enjoyed the involvement of gaming worlds. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping to.

I do know that this is a naughty adult graphic novel, but wow. I mean, I was hoping for at least some story development and more complex things throughout the novel but alas, there wasn't any of that. It's simply about a gay couple who break up after one catches the other cheating.

After the event of the breakup, our main character gets sucked into different video game worlds trying to find his way back home. Through these multiple worlds, he meets multiple hunky characters and engages in sexual activity with them. The book really is mostly sex scenes.

I was hoping to actually learn things about the characters and to have a good time, but my experience was mostly boredom.

I knew going in this was going to be a fairly explicit read. I was surprised by the full on nudity and sex scenes. The story? A tad bit boring, mostly there to pretend this isn't just a total smut-fest, and the characters are fairly one dimension (though I suppose many videogame characters would be?) so I never really connected to any of them.

I can give high praise to the illustrations and color though. The graphic art element is rich, well drawn, and conveys emotion that I found the dialogue and story to be lacking. This is not something I'd outright recommend to anyone but perhaps someone who has shown interest in the nerdy/fantasy/smut genre.

I don’t remember exactly how Cheat(er) Code came to my attention, but when I saw that it was advertised as an “erotic graphic novel,” I was intrigued and ran to NetGalley to request a copy for review. I did receive an arc in exchange for an honest review.

My ultimate feeling about Cheater Code is that it’s fine. The book opens with two men in an apartment kitchen getting naked and talking about why they never make it to the bedroom. In walks our main character, Kennedy. He has walked in on his longtime boyfriend cheating on him in their kitchen. Adding insult to injury, his boyfriend breaks up with him.

While crying, masturbating, and getting ready to play a game, Kennedy is glitched into a game. Imagine coming out of a post orgasmic haze to find yourself in an familiar/unfamiliar place with your briefs around your ankles and creepy creatures calling your name. He is saved by a silver daddy who speaks in double entendres. He glitches from game to game where he often falls into having sex with the characters he has played. Along the way he learns things about himself (he can be a bossy top).

The story itself is rather sweet (once you get into the video games) and most of the characters Kennedy meets on his journey are joyously raunchy. My biggest issue was the repetitiveness of the sex. The potential for erotic creativity was high and I don’t think Foxe tried very hard to reach that potential. I’m going to need more than lots of closeups on dicks, even an orc dick, and a cosmic fleshlight to get hot and bothered.

This is definitely not for minors and I absolutely loved this!

From the very first page, the sex was front and center of this work and even when the story delved deeper into more emotional territories, the smuttiness of if didn't dial down.

Kennedy gets cheated on by his longtime boyfriend and well, one lonely night when he tries to jerk the sadness off, he gets transported into the world of his favorite video games! The version of these make-believe worlds are a little different than Kennedy remembers - they're a lot naughtier! - and soon Kennedy finds himself being serviced by a silverdaddy, caught between two swinger orcs, and getting down with an avatar modeled after his own personality (but enhanced to what he aspires to be irl). He also meets a ripped version of his favorite childhood game hero, and find in him a friendship he didn't even knew he cherished for so long.

Through his journeys through different video game worldss, trying to find a way out and back home, lest he causes major glitches in the alternate reality, he works out his own insecurities, his own personal issues that unbiddenly caused his relationship to crumble. He also finds reason to move on from the heartbreak, and pick himself up to become better in more ways than he thought was possible.

It's funny and heartwarming, and oh so smutty! The artstyle is deceptively reminiscent of things for younger audiences but that's part of the fun, and the maturity of it really goes beyond just the steamy parts, and more in Kennedy's coming to terms with acceptance and changing himself for the best.

Highly recommended for fans of erotic graphic novels like me!

*The eARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for free in exchange for an honest review. It doesn't affect my opinion of the book. Thank you.

This was really funny and cute!!!! Obviously...there was a lot of sex. That was like the main thing of the book. But I liked that it was about learning and growing and becoming a new person after heartbreak, And omg they put silent hill in there??? That was some big brain stuff right there. Definitely wanna buy this once it comes out!

I want to begin this review by saying that despite the cute cartoony image on the cover, this graphic novel contains explicit sex scenes, and it is not suitable for children of any age.

Kennedy’s world turns upside down when he walks in on Seth, his boyfriend of six years, having sex with another man on their kitchen counter. Despite this monumental betrayal of trust, Kennedy is willing to work on their relationship, but Seth tells him the relationship has been over for a long time and he’s done forever.

A dejected Kennedy retreats into his beloved video games, and then the combination of a power surge and um—bodily fluids—zaps Kennedy into the world of video games.

Kennedy experiences a wide variety of gaming genres: survival horror, fantasy MMORPG, outer space, and even a cute platform style game. As he travels from zone to zone, he meets all sorts of video game characters who find him attractive and want to have sex with him.

And boy, do they ever! Kennedy has quite the erotic adventure, expanding his repertoire with an older Bear/Dad, a threesome with an Ogre and a Barbarian, and even an encounter with an idealized version of himself. Along the way, Kennedy learns to believe in himself and that he is valued/desired just the way he is. Kennedy returns to the real world with a renewed sense of purpose and a positive outlook on the future.

OMG, I loved this book so much. Kennedy is such a sweetheart. I might be reading into it too much, but judging by the way Kennedy interacts on the dating app FUCKR, he doesn’t seem to have a lot of experience outside of his long-term relationship. So it’s especially meaningful to see him come into his own (no pun intended) over the course of his sexual encounters. Speaking of which, the numerous sex scenes are scorching hot and encompass a variety of types/tropes: age gap, threesome, sex toys, and more.

But there’s more to this book than the sex scenes. I know it sound trite, but Kennedy really does learn more about himself during his wild adventure, and my favorite part of the book was when Kennedy spent time with Dash, a cartoon cheetah who’s supposed to be an amalgam of Mario and Sonic. No, Kennedy doesn’t hook up with an anthropomorphic cheetah, but they have a wild time playing all of Dash’s games, and Dash gives Kennedy some poignant words of encouragement.

I would absolutely recommend Cheater Code to anyone who likes queer fiction and video games. This book was an absolute gem, and I’m looking forward to reading more from Foxe and Daz in the future.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel! It's super erotic, so fair warning there, but it was actually a really sweet, emotional story.

After Kennedy catches his boyfriend, Seth, cheating on him, he is transported inside his gaming console and a world where all of his favourite video games have collided. In his journey through the games, he has many intimate moments with a variety of characters that help him to heal from Seth's betrayal.

This graphic novel was funny, sweet, and super smutty. The art style was really cool, and so was the concept.

Cheater code was not anything I would normally read, but something about it seemed interesting. I was not expecting sex on the first page, but the whole story was equal parts erotic, funny, and sweet. It was a cute quick story that was a perfect summertime read to break up the big novels I've been reading.

I'd recommend this story to anyone who likes gay sex and video games.

*I will be posting about this story on my Instagram in November closer to the release date.*

Given the fact that this is a graphic novel/comic book, I already knew it'll be a quick read. In addition, I've been diving head deep into a lot of BL manwha, so I figured this would be up my alley.

Plot: Kennedy, a gaymer, walks in on his boyfriend, Seth, who happens to have another guy over and playing some other kind of joystick. Instead of being sorry for what occurred, Seth decided that they should break up after six years because he didn't want to get tied down and wasn't in love with Kennedy anymore due to his lack of interest in maintaining the ideal body weight or doing things other than playing games. After a few long depressing days, Kennedy relieved himself and actually shot some on his console which transported him to a fantasy world of his games, taking his mind (and other parts of his body) off of the reality and realized that he needed to level up himself and move on with life.

After reading this book, this took me back to my own childhood and wanting to do some things to certain game characters (Roy from Rival Schools/Project Justice, daddy Ryu from the recent Street Fighter upgrade, and Leon from Resident Evil 2). A fun light-hearted novel, which reminds people that break up sucks, but ultimately, in order to move on, one must forgive, not to hold onto the past and evolve. The sex scenes the novel provided gave this lesson an additional chef's kiss.

The downside was how the ending was pretty quick; this could have extended easily with Kennedy revisiting the gaming world a few times, showing off his transformation, and easily ending with him and the new guy creating a new avatar in Alpha Epsilon 3. Beyond that, it was a fun read and I can't wait to read more (if the author decides to make more).

I went into this a little naively, I assumed by the cover it was a MM Erotica, and I knew it was a graphic novel, but damn, I was not fully prepared for the very first page of this book. Haha.

That shock aside, I really enjoyed the story line, the character's development throughout. I also enjoyed the aspect that he was stuck in a video game, as I love books and movies that are like that.

I ended up giving this 4 stars, only because it could have been so much more, and I wanted just a little bit more from the story.

This book was a delight. The artwork is dynamic but it still allows the tenderness of the writing to come through. There is no shortage of sex here but it has context and feeling which makes it a joy to read. I couldn’t put it down.

• Cheater code (by S.A. FOXE)

The thing that highlighted through out the book is humor. And I love a good laugh. And the very very imagery gay sex scenes.

I was reading this book alone in my room at night and my parents were in the other room, boy do I know how much I struggled to subdue the big laughs

The comical fun, the spontaneous stuff, the ambiguity and the specific madness and total out of the blue things that were happening in the book is bizarre and that's what made me finish this book in one sitting

I do loved this book. The character devolpoement and the getting over your ex part withal a fun and massively insane incidentwas such the jewel that shone brightly.

The main character Ken got cheated and dumped by his boyfriend after a 6 year long relationship and then stuff happened and he got sucked into video game and not only one game but mixture of all the games he plays connected by a glitch

Except the particular fun things there's a lot of sex and I mean a lot of explicit sex scenes being this a graphic novel.

Damn this is for someone over 15 years i may add. I recommend this book to everyone who has no problem to read and have visuals of gay sex scenes in every alternate pages

• Character development- 4.5☆
• Story Plot- 3.5☆
• Side characters- 4☆
• Flow of the story- 5☆
• Overall - 4☆

Wow, what a fun ride (literally, hehe) this was! I rarely read graphic novels but I couldn't help myself when I saw this available for review, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. You get exactly what's advertised - a silly and fun, light on plot, heavy on porn, very well illustrated story.

Aside from the sex, of which there is plenty, I really appreciated that this managed to touch on several other themes, such as body positivity and subverting stereotypical expectations based on appearances. I normally don't love a "message" when I'm in the mood for smut, but this was done just subtly and naturally enough that it enhanced rather than detracting from the story.

I wouldn't recommend reading this one in public, but if you think a sexy graphic novel might be your thing, definitely check this out.

I requested on impulse for fun. Never get expected I'd actually get attached to the main character. I would die for Kennedy. I enjoyed this so much more than I ever expected to. I cried laughing several times through this, the humor was peak. The Sephirof part,,,, i was laughing so hard the whole way through that scene. And I actually ended up truly emotional at the end of the story. The story and plot was actually incredibly well done and I got super involved in reading it. As for the erotica part. I thought this was gonna be some weird furry stuff id never be into. But wow was I wrong. Alpha is just my type. I seriously loved this book so much, it was such a good read

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this. Comic books and Graphic novels aren't really my go to, but when I saw this book listed as available to review, my eyes were constantly drawn to the fun colors and detailed illustrations. Let me just tell you, these are very detailed illustrations (wink). I read some other NetGalley reviews about this book, which mentioned that this was a Graphic graphic novel, and I was intrigued. I am a big fan of M/M romance so I thought I would give this a shot. I very much enjoyed the book, but it is not for anyone under 18, i actually hid the screen from my spouse when reading because almost every page has some action going on. This book definitely falls into the erotica genre. I thought the overall message of Kennedy coming to terms with his heartbreak and learning to love himself and be confident in his abilities was very sweet and the illustrations and story was fun and well paced. This was a quick fun read and I would recommend it for anyone who is interested in erotic M/M romance.

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley and voluntarily give my review.
