Wow utterly brilliant! This series gets better in every book and I throughly enjoyed catching up with Josie, her team and Trinity. This book was so tense I could hardly breathe, all the while I was madly reading not being able to put the book down. This one had me reading very late in to the night. Enthralled is a good word for my feelings about this book, it was just so good. Highly recommend it, and the whole series and it totally deserves five big fat stars.

Guess who's back, back again
Josie's back, tell a friend.

If you have not read this series yet, what are you waiting for? Lisa Regan has brilliantly plotted each of the books in this series and this might just be the best one yet! Explosive, tense, smart, suspenseful, addictive. Crime thrillers with well-developed characters and clever storylines. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I strongly encourage you to read them all. Josie is such a great character and there’s so much growth in her throughout these books. Also each story offers you a glimpse into each of the secondary characters backstories. This book gives us an opportunity to learn a little more about Trinity (Josie’slong lost twin sister).

Josie has not had contact with her sister Trinity a popular morning news host for several weeks, not since they had a bit of a fall out. When Josie is not able to contact her by phone she decides to head to the cabin where she has been staying. When she gets there she finds Trinity‘s car and purse, but no Trinity. She also finds human bones laid out in an artistic manner. Who’s bones are these? And do they have anything to do with what Trinity was investigating before she went missing? Once again Josie finds herself investigating a dark crime where Time is of the essence. Loved playing detective and investigating right along side Josie and crew. All the usual characters helped Josie with the investigation, my favorites of course being Noah and Gretchen. We also get to know Josie‘s parents better in this book as well as her brother Patrick. The mystery was intelligent and I loved how it incorporated shorthand and symbolism. Another winner in this excellent series!

Absolutely 5 stars all the way for this latest Josie Quinn book. This series is just amazing and the standard has never dropped from the first book up to this latest.
Totally gripping from beginning to end. The action is non stop and you are hurtled along at 100 miles an hour. A roller coaster of a ride. Lisa Regan is in a class of her own.
I have no hesitation in recommending this series never mind this latest.

WOW!!! What a brilliant read! Definitely 1 of the best psychological crime thrillers I've read this year! Lisa Regan is up there with the best.

Have you ever wanted to see a person without their skin.......
If you have or if you are fascinated by this idea this book is a definite read for you!

The story is set in Denton, central Pennsylvania. Detective Josie Quinn has to find her missing sister before its too late....or is she dead already. How did Trinity get involved with this case and can it be traced back to a serial killer who was never found? What is the meaning of the way the human bones are displayed? What is the meaning of the secret message her sister left her? These are just some of the questions Josie must figure out before its too late.

A brilliantly written story with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm over the moon that I have discovered this author and will definitely read more from her. I can so see this book as a movie!

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I don't know how she does it. Lisa Regan's books just keep getting better. Mystery and suspense are masterfully blended with complex characters and twisted relationships. I was hooked from the first page.

Josie and her sister Trinity have been apart following an argument three weeks previously. When Josie realises that noone else has heard from Trinity either she calls to the rented cabin to speak to her. She finds the cabin empty with Trinitys car abandoned outside containing her keys and bags. While checking the cabin she finds a bundle of bones carefully laid out. Are they Trinitys or someone elses? This leads Josie down the path following a serial killer that Trinity had been investigating.
Yet again Lisa Regan gives us an exciting tension filled story. Trinity has left some clues that leads Josie to look into Trinitys teenage years and allows her to uncover her own history. I look forward to reading about Josie and the gang again
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for giving me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

What the blinking frick!!! This is my favourite one yet! It’s going straight on to my list for book of the year, holy mackerel what a blinding book! Gosh, what else is there to say! My heart is pumping so fast from the adrenaline of this book, it DID.NOT.STOP!!! Wow!! From the get-go you are compelled to read the pages, you need to know about the past, you need to know about the argument, you need to know what happens next!

Ok, some sensible writing now, what a book! We have alternating chapters between Josie trying to find her sister and Alex who is living a horrific life! I figured one bit out, but holy smokes didn’t see all of the outcome coming my way!!

The second Trinity goes missing, it is a high octane, always moving, never a breathe being taken as we need to find her and pronto. Josie is consulting on the case, she had an argument with Trinity before she went missing and the guilt she feels is palpable. So much needs to be to said between the pair, and there were some nice touches and hidden messages which I loved. It was also a chance for the twins to realise how little they thought they knew about each, a glimpse to Trinity sad past and also a chance meeting to know how connected they really were, it is a full circle!

One of the key things in this book is family and how it can be the strongest support system you have with the right people. Josie still trying to “fit” in with her family, Trinity trying to be accepted for who she is and Alex, Alex bless him will never have a face that fits in his family. Each subject touched within this confine is done delicately and certain subjects are tackled with care.

Alex, wow, this is one person I felt sorry for. What a life, a pig of a Dad who controlled the household. His mother a successful artist and a sister who is kept locked away. At first, you think you know how he is connected to the present day, then you aren’t sure as Regan throws a few red herrings about and then you are sure. But when it’s made clear how everything is connected, it’s shocking and you still can’t help but feel sorry for him.

This is quite simply, without a doubt, the best book in the series to date (I am not including book 1 or 2 as I’ve still not read it, despite buying them years ago!!). It is quite simply Regans best book, her writing has blown me away. When I saw how many chapters/pages there were, I panicked as I thought I might not finish it in time. However, I read it in about 3 hours as the book did not let go and I had to know how it ended, I mean there was a lot at stake here!

Every book review I write I always make a comment that I want more of Mettner and I kind of got my wish as he is in charge of the case….but there was still not enough of him, so I will wait patiently for the next one, whilst chomping at the bit!!

I really could gush about Find Her Alive all day, it has everything you need in a book, the thrills, the lighter moments, the touching moments, the angry moments, the sad moments and the satisfying conclusion. Although don’t get too annoyed with yourself if you find that you do feel sorry for the killer, I know I did.

Another Josie Quinn book!!!! You better believe I dropped everything to read this.

This installment revolved around Trinity. We got to learn more about her and why her past shaped her into the woman she is today. I was so happy to get to know Trinity more as in the previous books she was kind of unlikable.

I absolutely loved everything about this book, as usual. Especially the fact that all my favorite characters were all getting together to try to find Trinity. Including Josie’s grandmother! So glad she had a bigger part in this one!

Finally, I can’t get enough of Josie and Noah! I’m also obsessed!!!! Can they get married and have babies yet?!?! Eeeeckkk

Well done Lisa and please keep em’ coming!!!

This is book eight with Detective Josie Quinn and her team. Josie’s twin Trinity feels she is losing her career so starts investigating an old serial case to rekindle it. Then Trinity vanishes and clues left behind seem to suggest the long dormant killer has taken her. Trinity leaves clues for her twin to follow. Through searching for Trinity she starts to learn her twins history.
I loved how this story unfolded and the knowledge it adds to all the characters that surround and support Josie.
This is definitely a series I will reread in the future and I can’t wait for book nine.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

That could very well have been the best book yet! By now I feel that I have really got to know Josie Quinn and her family, so when her twin sister, Trinity, got kidnapped I was devastated.

Following an argument and the receipt of a mysterious package Trinity leaves Josie’s place in a huff and a hurry. She is headed for a holiday cabin for a ‘sabbatical’. After Josie’s repeated calls and text messages to Trinity go unanswered for weeks she heads up to the cabin to confront her sister face-to-face. Trinity’s car is at the cabin, all packed up as if she were about to leave, but there is no sign of Trinity herself. A note to the landlord inside the cabin indicates she planned to please three weeks ago. Josie searches frantically and makes a shocking discovery outside - skeletal remains arranged on the grass in a strange tableau. Josie recoils in horror thinking it is Trinity. But wait, bodies take longer than three weeks to decompose, don’t they? But if it’s not Trinity, then who is it?

And so begins Josie’s descent into hell as she tries to follow the scant and very opaque clues left by Trinity, and to follow in her footsteps to find a serial killer like none other. Hoping against hope to find her sister in the process. Preferably alive. This was like a bullet train from page 1. I really, really enjoyed this. Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for my review copy.

This is book #8 in the Detective Josie Quinn series. Whilst it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the books in series order to understand the characters past stories. We return to the town of Denton in Pennsylvania. After having a row with her sister Trinity, Josie decides to go and speak to her at the rented cabin she moved into. When she gets there, she finds the place empty, but Trinity’s car, keys and purse are still there. When Josie finds human bones laid outside the cabin, she fears the worse. Investigations show that they aren’t Trinity’s remains, but that still leaves the question of where is Trinity?

I’ve read all of this series and have enjoyed all the books so far. Josie is a great character, but has had a very difficult past, which has been explained as the books have moved on. Part of this was being reunited with a twin sister she didn’t know about, and Josie and Trinity’s relationship is still complicated at times. This story, focussing on her missing sister and subsequent other missing women, gets straight into the action right from the beginning, with it being obvious that Trinity is hiding something from Josie. I have sometimes found it hard to connect with Trinity throughout the whole series, feeling that she has only ever used Josie for a leading story. I have to admit I initially found it difficult again to understand why she behaves like she does. As the book moves on though I did warm to her, particularly when she goes missing and you begin to realise what the case is that she has been investigating on her own.

The action was fast paced and gripping. The location adds to the suspense, with the town being so rural and huge areas of land to cover. Josie remains the same tough cookie that she has been throughout the series, and I love her relationship with Noah. You do see a different side to Trinity though, and are left hanging on all the way through the book to discover her fate. Working against the clock, Josie is desperately trying to find out who the serial killer, dubbed The Bone Artist, is. The story is full of twists and turns, and you are given little clues as the book moves on to help you work out what is going on! The Bone Artist is someone you certainly wouldn’t want to meet though!

The stories keep getting better as each book comes out, finding out more about the characters and also meeting new ones. I can’t wait until the next book in the series! Chilling, riveting and unable to put down…I would definitely recommend this one!

What a great crime book. Well written with a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend this book. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.

Detective Josie Quinn had been trying to contact her sister, Trinity Payne, since the day she’d stormed out of her and Noah’s home, and finally, with Noah’s urging, they found out where she was staying and Josie headed there to find her. But when she arrived at the cabin, Trinity’s car and possessions were there, but no sign of Trinity. And when Josie found human remains at the rear of the cabin, she was terrified it was her sister...

As Josie called Noah and her team out to the site, she wasn’t to know what was ahead of her. The scramble to find Trinity before it was too late; the signs of a serial killer; the involvement of the FBI; the strange formations of human bones – Josie knew there must be clues that would point them in the right direction. But could she find them? She and her team were working around the clock, rotating rest times – they knew the clock was ticking. But would they find her alive?

Find Her Alive is the 8th in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and once again it was electrifying! Tension, fast paced action, suspense – all the usual layers which gradually peel away to reveal the conclusion. And what a great twist at the end! I loved it. Highly recommended.

With thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Count on this series to be consistently good, and this one - the eighth - fits the pattern well. The story is a bit more "far out" than the others I've read, but it doesn't matter - I stayed up late to finish the last four chapters just because things were moving so fast at that point that I didn't want to wait till morning to find out what happened.

Josie Quinn, a detective in rural Denton, Pennsylvania, has twin sister Trinity. It's been only recently that they discovered each other (background on all that is in previous books); and even now, their interaction can be a bit tense. Trinity, who is a well-known TV news anchor, came to visit Josie and her significant other Noah Fraley, also a police officer. Convinced she was about to be fired, Trinity was on the trail of a major breakthrough story that would revive her TV career big-time.

But about three weeks ago, the twins got into an argument and Trinity stalked out - renting a remote hunting cabin for a reason known only to her. When she can't reach her sister, Josie heads to the cabin, where she encounters a gruesome sight: human bones neatly arranged outside the cabin. Needless to say, she's terrified that the bones are Trinity's, although it seems unlikely that total decomposition could have happened this rapidly.

When the police team come in to investigate, Josie is relieved; dental records confirm the remains are not Trinity, but rather a missing woman from a nearby town. Now, the investigation expands, but it seems to go nowhere fast. Gleaning some clues from a handwritten message Trinity apparently left on her car - which was found outside the cabin complete with her purse and cell phone - Josie determines that Trinity's big story involved an as-yet-unidentified serial killer known for his "artistry" with human bones.

Along the way, other bone formations are found, adding urgency to the investigation. Is Trinity still alive, and if she is, can they find her before it's too late? Josie is hot to trot with ideas and suggestions, but not all are taken seriously simply because of her obvious personal interest in the case.

And tttthhhhhaaat's all from me, folks, except to say it's a dash to an exciting finish with a couple of twists thrown in. Those who are familar with this series will enjoy this one too, I'm sure - and to those who aren't, well, what are you waiting for? Thanks to the publisher, via NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Find Her Alive’, the eighth in the Detective Josie Quinn series written by Lisa Regan, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Detective Josie Quinn hasn’t seen her twin sister Trinity for a month since she left their home after an argument. When she drives to where Trinity is renting a cabin she discovers her car packed and ready to leave, but Trinity has disappeared. Josie finds human bones behind the cabin arranged in a pattern and fears that Trinity has been abducted by a serial killer who was active in and around 2008 for the designs he made out of human bones. Can Josie rescue her sister before it’s too late?

‘Find Her Alive’ is a gripping thriller that becomes more addictive as the story progresses. It’s fast-paced with a well-written plot, plenty of twists and turns, drama and suspense. Although I guessed what was going to happen towards the final chapters it hasn’t detracted from my enjoyment of this latest instalment of the series. It’s good to meet up again with Josie, Noah, Gretchen and Mett who are friends as well as working together as a strong and efficient team, and when I reached the last pages the conclusion was the perfect ending to an excellent book.

Find Her Alive by Lisa Regan is the 8th book in the Detective Josie Quinn mystery series, and another great addition. Josie's twin sister Trinity left her house after an argument three weeks ago, and no one has heard from her since. When Josie was able to locate where Trinity was last known to be, they found human bones. Trinity left Josie clues to who did this. Josie and Noah are on the case. Wow this book grabbed me from the very first page, and kept me going. This book has more twists and turns, that kept me reading page after page. Just when I thought I was on the right track, I realize I wasn't. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. Detective Josie Quinn reminds me of Police Chief Kate Burkholder in the series by Linda Castillo. Both women suffered while growing up, and have alcohol issues. If you love mysteries like I do, than I strongly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another fantastic book in this great series.
This story is very close to home for Josie as she suspects her sister has been kidnapped by a serial killer, so the race is on to find her in time.
The cabin where Trinity was staying is deserted and her car is there with all her belongings inside, and the keys in the ignition.
Also near the cabin are some bones that have been arranged in a certain way.
Josie and the team dig deeper into the situation and realise they’re looking for The Bone Artist.
A game is then set in place between the killer and Josie - but there can only be one winner.
I love the relationship that Josie and Trinity have and Josie’s determination to find her sister is heartwarming.
There are some real heart in your mouth moments towards the end of the book and I was desparate to know how it was going to end.
This is a gripping read that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Lisa Regan continues to put forth strong, character driven story lines in this series. This is the eighth book in the Josie Quinn series and while it can be read as a stand alone, some familiarity with the characters will help the reader appreciate Regan’s concepts. While Regan continue to develop Josie’s character arc, this book pays tribute to family dynamics. The crime /police procedural was creepy and interestingly laid out. Another great book!

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of #FindHerAlive which was read and reviewed voluntarily by @wayward_readers.

Excellent book! I love the Josie and Trinity series. Each new book adds more in deep character development, as you get to know the people in the story, along with a page turning mystery. I found the storyline to be innovative, and clever. It is definitely a page turner, highly recommend.
