Don't Mess With This Witch was a cute and enjoyable story of a coming of age book, while the MC was learning to be witch. I enjoyed the mystery behind it, and how Ms. Lorow created her world, but I sometimes felt like the writing was scattered.
However, I do look forward to the rest of her stories and can't wait to read more.

this was a really fun read, I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the story itself. I look forward to more from the author.

This was a well thought out book and was a good debut novel. This author takes on some difficult subject matter and it is well written. Very good character development and the MC Genevieve is relatable and the overall character development progressed well through the book. Genevieve is not perfect but she picks herself up dusts off and tries to learn from her mistakes. Even at the young age of 16 you can see what will be a gritty character with heart beginning to develop. This book is intended as a stand alone but there is potential for further exploration if the author chooses to revisit this storytelling later.
I received this book from NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an honest review.

I was drawn in right away and every page just kept getting better! I know this is a stand-alone, but I really want to read more in this world. Thankfully, I've learned that more books will be written in this world. Witty banter, betrayal, true love, your entire existence turned upside down, and strong characters all join together to create an adolescent story we can all relate to - even if we haven't been to juvie. A definite must-read. I'll be following this author closely!

The premise for this is very cool, but the writing is quite scattered.
I look forward to seeing if the author does anything more.
With some polishing around her execution, I think she could do great things.
Thanks to NetGalley & BooksGoSocial for my DRC.

Interesting book with some small problems, seems to be setting up for a series with more to come.
Genevieve Howe is in what is basically juvenile hall for the magical after an accident in her previous school. The place is dangerous, as is the staff, and it is clear there is some sort of secret about her. This book has tons of twists and turns that are unexpected. Some things may be a little predictable. There is a touch of romance, people finding family outside of what is normal, and of course, magic.
My issues with the book are how easy some things happen, and also the treatment of Tawania after she comes into the story, it’s kind of like let’s make fun of a person who had these horrible extreme conditions to live in, she doesn’t understand modern phrases how dumb! I would like to understand more of her story, especially why she just decided to take care of herself after her parents’ death instead of you know seeking help from another adult.
An interesting, very off beat read.

Don’t Mess With This Witch by Liz Lorow
It starts as a magic school for delinquent magic users where the residents need to learn control, discipline and spells. The teen girl uses her magic to discover where the missing student went. The library walls talked!
First in a young adult series. A bit of a mystery. A minor beginning romance. A bit coming of age. Some learning of responsibility although that seemed to miss the main character. I found it humorous that she is confused about being useful. She’s a teen and her job is to go to school and study apparently.
The story moves along at a good pace and is easy to read. I do feel as if there are a few holes. The school guards are a bit creepy.
A cute and enjoyable story that I can see following secondary characters to their own growing into adulthood issues.
A teen learning to be a witch.

This was unexpected, in the fact I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did. I was expecting just a routine teen witch school book, but it was so much more entertaining. I loved Genevieve (I think the fact she’s not perfect always means I connect better!) and found I connected with her immediately, the book is well written and I found it very hard to put down. It’s funny, full of action and a little bit of mystery. I won’t say much as you need to read it to see. I can’t wait to read more, fantastic,
