4.5 Stars to this epic and mind bending conclusion to this dark series!
In my review for the first book I mentioned that I loved how every character was just bad, no one was morally grey, they were all corrupt and it was great rooting for the villain because everyone was the villain. Well... I take the back because Kovit is a precious cinnamon roll, like an adorable angry chihuahua who could also kill you.

I loved this conclusion, there were aspects of the story that I did not like as they were occurring but later on within the novel it made sense to me, that being said... I still ship Kovit and Nita HARD. My hopes are down the line when the dust settles and their world is righted that they end up together.

They might both be terrible, and the world might want them dead, but they had each other. Sometimes, that was all that mattered.

Because although the series is over and it was a great conclusion, there are still so many things that could go wrong and my mind is spinning wondering if something bad is gonna happen to my beloved Kovit. Kovit and Nita were both great character but honestly Kovit just stole the show, with his rules, with the fact he was broken and trying to be good in his own way and how Nita did everything for him, she may say she is looking out for herself but really we know that's a lie. That is her best and only friend and you do not mess with him.

Nita was a ruthless character too, it was weird watching her development because you are used to a story going from a timid character to the main hero, Nita went from helping her mom with her dirty work to having no problem killing anyone in her way and then realizing that maybe she had it all wrong, but don't worry, she is still fine with killing, she'll just think more before she does it and she has Kovit to double check her.

But for now, there was just them and the understanding that sometimes people you loved betrayed you, and sometimes cutting them out of your lives was the only way to heal yourself, even if you lost a piece of your soul doing so.

That being said, I was upset that I felt like I was teased with a Kovit and Nita relationship all throughout the second book only to have my fire stomped on rather aggressively, why would you give it to us and then rip it away like that!

I loved the twist and turns this series had, I loved the two big twists in this finale that I did not see coming. I loved seeing the humanity in the monsters and I loved seeing the monsters in humanity.

The author has made a fan out of me!
