The Seeker series is easily one of the best, if not the best, historical fiction series out there. I still think book 2, The Black Friar, is one of the greatest historical books i've read.

For me, this is actually the weakest book in the series, and its such a shame that its the last. Thats not saying that its a bad book, far from it, its still very good, just that the standard has been set so high.

I think for me having Seeker removed from London, removes something integral to the series. Also, having Seeker play a role as a carpenter, not as the man that puts the fear of God into everyone, lessons his impact as a character.

But enough of the negatives, - as always the plot is intricate and clever, with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing. Its a real page turner that i enjoyed from front to back.

I really hope we do get more Seeker in the future, but im also looking forward to what Maclean writes next!
