I already have a good general knowledge of horses, just from reading about them my whole life, so I knew a majority of the information included. I expected this, but when there were things that I didn’t know, they were rarely explained past the single sentence it took to state the fact. Which was disappointing.

In the types of horses section, I wished the titles of the descriptions were simply the breed instead of the “clever” phrases used. It was a bit of an effort to compare the pictures to the stated breeds. And I understand that the inconveniently placed text is part of this style of book, for the best view of the photos, but it was especially frustrating to me in this edition for some reason.

The quality of the photographs was rather good, however, and the info shared was interesting enough. Though maybe not the most educational book for someone who is already a horse lover, it's a great coffee table book and did what it set out to do.

If you love horses this is the book for you. No need to know much, if you don’t you will probably even learn a little, but you will be amaze by the stunning pictures of this book. A good coffee table for horse lovers!
