Merry-go-Round of Danger!

Whitney is a hard-working young woman with two jobs, and trying to pass the bar. She is terrorized when cryptocurrency and murder become part of her life. As she tries to unravel what is going on, she is impaired by a disability known as face blindness—a condition that makes her unable to recognize faces.

She is also weighed down by fear of her ex-boyfriend, mountains of debt, lack of friends, grief, poor communication with her dad, homelessness, killers, pressure to pass the bar and the panic of getting a good job. Although the story’s tale of intrigue is fascinating with lots of action and twists, some of it gets upstaged by all the things going on in Whitney’s life. A good portion of the narrative focuses on her unhappiness with her accumulated school debt, and her defeatist attitude toward life.

This is a clean tale (although Whitney had been okay with living with her boyfriend in the past), but it is not a Christian story. That is too bad, because if ever there was a character that needed spiritual help, it is Whitney.

I am a fan of the author, but this story never took off for me. There was so much piled onto Whitney’s character, that believability was stretched to a breaking point. Additionally, questions about her father were left unanswered, leaving me hanging. I recommend this 4-star book to fans of thrillers.

The publisher through NetGalley provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, Everywhere to Hide, for the purpose of review. Opinions are my own.

Everywhere to Hide is the first book I have read by Ms. Mitchell, and I like her expressive style and excellent storytelling skills. Her characters are well-crafted and believable. I enjoyed the suspenseful plot even though it is a little predictable and was fascinated by the face blindness aspect of the story since I had never heard of this disorder. Although evidencing extensive research, the cryptocurrency aspect of the story to me is quite technical and tedious, but I like the way that real-life events and places are seamlessly integrated into the fictional story. The dash of romance also adds to the enjoyment of the story. All in all this was an enjoyable read, and I will definitely be reading other works by this author.

This book was not at all what I expected. I liked it but it stretched my brain cells a bit when the author was talking about cryptocurrency and China. If you are intrigued by that, you’ll probably love it. As for me, I enjoyed the story and was fascinated with the main character’s “disability” and in how that played out with her struggling to identify a killer. I felt that there were a few too many coincidences, but all in all it was a worthy read.

Wow what a fantastic romantic suspense. A real page turner with an edge of your seat plot. Suspense fans will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.

First off, wow. I really enjoyed this book! I almost never rate anything as a 5 star because I can usually find something I don't like (My only real criticism is that I hate the cover. I mean, this is a book about someone with facial blindness. So why are we featuring a cover with faces? But I digress.) and while I did think Whitney kind of came across as almost robotic and not very personable (I found the characters in this author's previous book to be the same way.) I will still say I liked her. I just didn't have a real connection to Whitney.

I have a vague knowledge of cryptocurrency and I thought the author did a great job explaining it all. I didn't have any issues keeping up with the plot and what was going on. It's almost eerie how closely this book follows actual current events!

I really appreciated the fact that Leo was protective of Whitney without being overbearing/borderline coercive-controlling like 75% of other males in Christian books. I thought they had a good relationship and I appreciated the fact that the plot took center stage instead of the romance. I get really annoyed with a lot of books (Christian fiction especially) that start out with a great plot but they focus so much on the romance that the suspense aspect loses out and it ends up being all about the romance.

The plot is complex and unique and one that definitely keeps you guessing! Generally I can figure plots out very early on and while I did figure out who the bad guy was, there was much more to the plot than just that. The author reveals just enough about the plot throughout so you are figuring things out along with Whitney instead of way before if that makes sense.

I thought Whitney's face blindness was an interesting aspect to the story. At first I was afraid it was going to detract from the narrative since we don't get facial descriptions, but it was very well done to the point that, after a while, I didn't even notice.

In closing, if you are looking for a easy, light read, this is not for you. There is a lot of fact and information and complexity to the plot which I enjoy but know is not for everyone. Overall a very well don't book and I can't wait to see what this author writes next!

I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

She's witnessed something terrible and is now being stalked by a murderer but has no ability to recognize his face. The tension just keep ratcheting upward in this suspense/thriller by Siri Mitchell. Law student Whitney Garrison has a rare neurological condition called face blindness that does not allow her brain to map facial features. Her condition causes her to keep everyone at arm's length, but Whitney is going to have to find someone to trust to get out of this situation alive.

I absolutely loved "Everywhere to Hide" by Siri Mitchell. This was a book that I had a hard time putting down. It kept me up long past my bedtime! This book is written in the first person point of view, which is my favorite!

This book centers on Whitney. Whitney is a young woman who was in an abusive relationship but has escaped that and is now working two jobs while studying for the bar exam. She becomes the first person on the scene of a murder. However, she has a condition called face blindness. Whitney and the detective assigned to the class work together to solve this case.

This was the first time I've heard of a condition called face blindness. I started researching this. I thought it was pretty neat that a fiction book ended up teaching me something I had never heard of before.

I definitely recommend this book. This is the second suspense book I've read by Siri Mitchell, and I have loved them both! Her books are hard to put down!

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I have had the honor of reading all of Siri Mitchell's novels...and I am truly enjoying her 'mystery' books. This story captured my attention from page on....and held on until the final chapter. Treat yourself to adventure, suspense and excellent storytelling. Five stars.

4.5 stars

The hook? The author and the description.
The line? Picking up the book and reading the first sentence.
The sinker? Reading and finishing the book in half a day.

I haven't accomplished much today except read this book (oh, I did do laundry and my devotions). I seriously am wowed about this story and Whitney's POV spun my head in circles in a good way. I felt how she felt. I witnessed events through her eyes. I even didn't see the faces, which was super weird ;) What made this book especially powerful was using current lifestyle and thinking and pulling that throughout the story. I can't say more than that. Now there's some technical stuff in it that was confusing but I pieced it together in the end. There was also a couple secular words used I'm not a fan of.

When October comes, pick up this release. Read about Whitney, and the detective, and people, and a murder, and a mystery that will make you wonder what you did with your life before you picked up this book ;)

Wow!!! "Everywhere to Hide" will keep you on the edge of your seat AND keep you guessing until the very end. This intense suspense/mystery tells the story of law school graduate Whitney who is the victim of abuse from her former boyfriend. As Whitney studies for the bar exam and works two jobs to pay student loans, she inadvertently becomes the first person on the scene of a murder. As police investigate the murder, Whitney experiences having her apartment burglarized, faces eviction, and then becomes aware that her former boyfriend has been stalking her. The story is intense, believable, and thought-provoking with a small amount of romance mixed into it all. This is a clean-cut book with no foul language. Great read!

Everywhere to Hide by Siri Mitchell is an intense mystery/thriller with a bit of romance. Holy Cryptocurrency! This book had me turning the pages until late in the night. I was so caught up in the story that that I worried about Whitney, the heroine when I wasn't even reading the book. It was written in first person in the heroine's point of view, Which was really well done. Kudos to the author. The heroine has a condition called face blindness. She can't see people's faces. I have never heard of this condition before. I felt the author did an amazing job of describing the other characters through her eyes. The story line was crazy. I have never heard of cryptocurrency either. I had to google it. I got a bit bogged down in that, but the story flowed so quickly that It didn't take away from it at all. I also fell in love with the hero, Leo. He cared for Whitney in the most awesome ways. So, to sum it up, I'll quote from the heroine herself..."The story had everything: politics, corruption, espionage, hacking."
*I was given a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson Publisher and this is my honest opinion.

This book contains a lot of technical descriptions and facts and I found myself skimming over those details. The story line and characters were great. I have never heard of face blindness before but basically the person with this can not see faces. She can see the rest of the body but not the face. She witnessed a crime but can not describe the person or know if that person is near her. Very interesting story line and I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen Thank you to NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Whitney Garrison stumbles onto a murder in the back alley of where she works. Whitney may or may not have seen the murderer...Whitney is face blind! That means her brain does not recognize faces. Think of it as when you see a picture and someone has scrubbed out the face of one of the subjects. That is how Whitney sees faces. But the murderer doesn't know this so now Whitney is in danger.

Leo Baroni is the detective assigned to the case. At first he is not worried about Whitney, but as things unfold he begins to see that the murderer will stop at nothing to get to Whitney. Leo is trying to help Whitney, but with her face blindness there is no telling who the murderer could be.

Oh my! This was such an exciting story! I'd never heard of face blindness before. It has a big technical name, but it's easier to say face blindness. Anyway, it was something that added to the suspense of the story. The blending of suspense with Whitney's ex boyfriend and a murderer also added to the mystery of the story and kept the reader guessing as to his role in all the things happening to Whitney. Bitcoins, virtual money, cryptocurrency, etc. are all concepts I have a hard time grasping and I found that there was a lot of detail in the story concerning those. Very important to the plot, but still hard to grasp even though the author did a great job in explaining them. Loved Leo and Whitney's relationship and how it developed and I definitely loved how Whitney slowly gained her confidence back throughout the story. I thought things were left hanging a bit with Whitney's relationship with her father. It seemed there was no resolution as far as clearing the air between them. Maybe that was supposed to be "understood" but I felt that it was left hanging. I enjoyed the book very much and always look forward to what this author has to publish next!

EVERYWHERE TO HIDE by SIRI MITCHELL is a very exciting political thriller with well defined characters and an interesting plot.
Whitney Garrison works four jobs in order to live. She just needs to pass her bar exam before being able to get a job in a prestigious law firm, earn a decent salary, and pay back her student loans.
She has managed to escape an abusive relationship with a senator's son and is petrified that he will find out where she lives. She then comes upon a dead body, which she later finds out is that of an old friend, outside the coffee bar in which she works.
One more thing about Whitney is that she suffers from an unusual neurological disorder which makes it impossible for her to recognize or "map" faces. This makes her even more terrified because the murderer, who she is sure is after her, could be close to her and she would not know.
Detective Leo Baroni is a great help, but, because he has her to stay with him when she is thrown out of her basement apartment, and they have also developed feelings for one another, he is taken off the case.
She misses her mother terribly and loves her father, but does not want to worry him with her problems. Her inability to recognize people means she does not have many friends.
That is all I am going to say except that Everywhere To Hide is an enjoyable read for those who enjoy a good thriller.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
