I had hoped for some steamy, sexy romance but what i got was: the female lead was annoying, whiny putting the blame on everyone else and the male lead seemed a bit too pushy and annoying for my taste.

The overall story is a good one. You keep wondering how the love will finally happen. It's a super-easy read but it is filled with characters and I had struggles trying to keep them all straight.

Oh how I wanted to love this book! The fairytale type love story had the premises of a sweet, happily ever after love story. While author Jules Hahn did deliver such a romance, I can't say I loves it. The main squeeze, Ben, was one we could all love. He is the torn hero and police chief and nothing.but a gentleman to lily. Lily, on the other hand, spent the whole story whining and placing blame on everyone else for her problems. I had a hard time reading her constant poor me and entitled attitude. I also felt that this story was very repetitive. Lily and Ben disagreed about where she his her house keys multiple times, Claire hid in the bushes trying to scare Lily multiple times, lily and Abe argued a out his work ethic multiple time, lily ruined donuts after church multiple times, and the newspaper misinterpreted Lily and Bens answers multiple times.

I think the ideas the author had.and then premisis of this love story is something that could.be quite fun to read. However, I think the author didn't quite hit the mark I was hoping for. That being said, this does offer a very clean romance that is easy to follow. If a reader is looking for a simple, feel good romance, this book will work for them. 2.5 out of 5 stars for me.

Wasn't sure if I was going to like this one at the beginning, but I really did. The characters are likeable and real. The interactions between Lily and Ben were very interesting. The secondary characters added lots to the story. Sweet love story, highly recommend.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this story for an honest opinion.

I don't believe that I ever laughed so much reading a book as I have with this one. I absolutely loved it.The town. The quirky characters, and of course the romance between Lily and Ben. Wonderful book.

I want more! From the first word to the last, you will be drawn into the small town of Aberdeen. This author has a way with words and the story telling is on point. I can see each character as described and from head to toe they came together as a visual image. The word sexy is used over and over and I know that the main characters are that and a bag of chips!

This story is funny, the characters are relatable, and the town is just plain adorable. Gossip is the soup du jour. everyone is in their business and everyone has an opinion. Small towns are special, and Aberdeen is a place I would love to visit. I wouldn’t even mind getting pulled over by the Police Chief. Great story, great characters, great detail, and a book to read this summer for sure. Enjoy!

An adorable and charming romance. The twins seem quite flighty and brainless, but the police chief is amazing. He is long suffering and humorous. Many of the town's citizens are rather short on wisdom and common sense also. A light, quick, engaging read. I put off reading this book as the title made me think it would be taking place in Scotland. Noted the actual cover and decided to give it a try. New York, not Scotland. Nothing against Scotland, just wasn't in the mood.

A beautifully written romance novel of mishaps and turns in a small town of Aberdeen, NY. This book teaches you that communication is the key to a healthy, happy relationship.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I had a hard time connecting with Lily Evan. She just seemed so shortsighted, unbending and putting off the "entitlement" in her character. Now I will say that I adored Ben Jordan, police chief of Aberdeen. You could tell there was a connection between the characters but Lily just kept putting me off. I did warm up to Lilly eventually.

I did appreciate the book being written in a dual POV format. It normally helps me to identify and connect with the main characters.

Now I am not saying that I didn't enjoy the book, I did. There were so great scenes. I especially enjoyed the garage scene with the two sisters and the ladder. I had a hard time reading through it though as I kept laughing out loud. The hubby gave me a few poignant stares. There were other times when I had to re-read a few scenes as I couldn't figure out what the author was actually trying to get across.

This was a very sweet, clean romance. There were no "bedroom" scenes. Any age could enjoy this.
