This bittersweet novel of two women that meet and form an unlikely friendship over sweet potato pie. The friendship changes not only the two women's lives, but the town they live in as well. This had such great writing.

This book was raw, poignant, and yet still contained some sweetness. I loved the alternating POV between Sugar and Pearl. I rooted for them and their growth. I was excited to see that this book is number one in a series and can’t wait to read the second Installment
