Fast paced and interesting:
What an amazing book! With multiple layers of intrigue and mystery, it drew me in and had me guessing until the end. The pacing was perfect and I there was just the right balance between action, drama and interpersonal connections.
I really liked that Jackie and Avery were both personable and felt relatable with their flaws and fears. It is a credit to the author that I felt a real connection to all of the characters and invested in what was happening in their lives. I enjoyed the light romance that developed and was so pleased that Jackie and Avery were able to find hope and healing together.
There was also a nice faith element that ran throughout the book and I especially liked the reminder to have faith and keep trusting in God even when we don't have all the answers or are facing difficult circumstances. All in all, a fabulous book and I look forward to reading more romantic suspense by this very talented author.

This novel starts out with plenty of action and the body count increases as the story progresses. We follow Jackie, organizer of the initial bombed event, as bombs are destroying parts of San Antonio and people close to her are getting killed. The plot centers around the police hunting for the bomber. Added to that is a budding romance between the lead police investigator, Avery, and Jackie. Avery is a decade older than Jackie and is divorced. She's a librarian and he doesn't read. She's a committed Christian and he has given up on God. Their romance is certainly unconventional and a bit unbelievable.

There is much character interaction in the midst of tragedy and police investigation. The character development is done well. How a person responds to tragedy is a major issue in the novel. Some grow in faith while others become bitter, cultivating hate. There is some family alienation in Jackie's family while Avery, oddly enough, gets along really well with his ex.

The strong aspect of the novel for me was the setting of San Antonio, its culture and social aspects. The weak aspect of the novel for me was the plot itself. I'm not sure the death and destruction matched the villain character and the motive.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Partners in Crime Virtual Book Tours. My comments are an independent and honest review.

Her Every Move by Kelly Irvin is a stand-alone novel. Kelly Irvin has written quite a few suspense novels, along with some Amish romance series books. The cover is beautifully done and portrays the intensity of the book. I find Irvin to be an excellent writer, with gripping scenes, this is not the first book that I have read from her, nor will it be my last. This story is also really well edited, so there are no distractions with outrageous grammatical errors.

This suspense novel catches your attention from the first chapter and moves at a fast pace. Jackie is at a climate-change debate when a bomb goes off, literally rocking her world. From that moment on, nothing is as it appears. Jackie is a prime suspect for the bombing and Avery is suspicious of her from the minute she says who her dad was.

In this story, we really get a feel for Jackie, her family, and the family dynamics. The characters are relatable and well-developed. We also get to know Avery pretty well, as this story switches from Jackie's perspective to his, frequently and flawlessly. We learn who Avery's closest friends are and are taken through their troubles as well.

As the story progresses you feel like you are in the story. I just "knew" that I knew who the person was setting the bombs. I made my guess and as I was reading kept seeing it in my head. As the story progressed there were no clues about the twists and turns coming, and nothing prepared me for the end. To say I was surprised is an extreme understatement. I read a lot of suspense books and not being able to figure out the ending is a sign of excellent writing. Well-done Irvin, well-done.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves suspense novels. While this book is classified as "Christian" fiction, it is done in such a way that no one should be offended. It flows with the storyline and the overall theme is that no one is perfect, we all make mistakes and we are all a work in progress. Not all of the characters in the story are Christians (obviously if someone is blowing up things with bombs), but everything is done well.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to give a positive review, but I am happy to do so. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

HER EVERY MOVE is a mystery/romantic suspense with a lot of references to God and prayers. There are a lot of injuries, death, and destruction and the race is on to find out who is setting off bombs in public places in San Antonio, Texas, and has it out for local law enforcement as well as local politicians. There are a lot of twists and turns as one of the lead detectives on the case, Avery, and Jackie, the librarian who pushed for the debate on climate change butt heads more than once. They are also fighting an attraction while others think she may be the mastermind who planned the bombings.

We get to meet Jackie’s family who is still reeling from her father’s actions two years before. There are some estrangements and dysfunctionality in the family but they’re trying to work through their issues, or are they? Jackie’s friends play an important role in the telling of the story as well. There are multiple stories taking place that are woven together nicely. My heart was pounding more than once due to the adrenaline rush of trying to figure out who the bad guys are, as there are more unexpected deaths. There are multiple agencies involved in the case which adds more layers of intrigue.

I didn’t hone in on who the killer was which I like when reading a mystery. I lose interest when it’s too easy to figure out. There is some closure but a few loose ends. I could easily see this becoming a series.

Ms. Irvin is a new to me author. She also writes Amish fiction, another favorite genre, so I may be giving more of her books a try.

Kelly Irvin gives us a fast pace thriller with so many surprises, and yet you wonder whom is going to survive to the end!

We have a young woman Jackie Santoro who work at the San Antonio Central Library, and among other duties is an event planner. Which is what she is doing as the book opens with a blast, yes, a bomb goes off and among the casualties is a life long friend and then she becomes a suspect.

Then we meet Detective Avery Wick, and he is doing his job as he investigates Jackie, but with the twist and turns here, she begins to look more guilty.

The lengths some people go for hate, and the people they hurt, and I didn't figure out whom was responsible until the very end, even then it was hard to believe.

If you like suspense that has non-stop action and keeps you guessing right to the end, this one has it!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

** “She refused to let the doubt in. Without faith, she had no weapon big enough to stand against this enemy.” **

Kelly Irvin delivers another incredible romantic thriller with “Her Every Move.”

Jackie Santoro, adult collections and event coordinator at San Antonio’s Central Library, is excited about the climate-control debate she has planned — until a bomb goes off, killing several important people in her life. And when Homicide Detective Avery Wick thinks she might have something to do with it — seeking revenge for the death of her father — she sets out to prove him wrong, all while slowly falling for the prickly detective.

As law officials race to stop the madman responsible for death and mayhem around the city, Jackie must prove her and her family’s innocence.

“Her Every Move” is an incredibly fast-paced, action-packed, heart-thumping story filled with plot twists that leave the reader guessing until the very end, as well as extremely flawed characters trying to overcome past failures and tragedies.

Irvin also does a great job of including a number of great themes in her story, like an unflinching faith can offer a silver lining in dark and unfathomable moments; we must forgive 70 times seven; “Do what you do best. Pray”; dealing with the plank in our own eye; exacting justice; dealing with loss; having a faith that moves mountains; asking God to help us in our unbelief; and sometimes actions have unintended consequences.

The love of reading and libraries is a huge undercurrent in “Her Every Move.” As Jackie tells Avery: “Reading is a gift. I read when I can’t sleep. I read when I’m sad. I read when I’m happy. Reading gives me joy, takes me places I’ve never been, and I learn things. What person wouldn’t want that gift?”

“Her Every Move,” due out Feb. 9, is a standalone novel and another incredible Irvin offering. Fans of authors like Lynette Eason, Terri Blackstock and Patricia Bradley will love it.

Five stars out of five.

Our library has a large number of Christian readers. I will definitely recommend this title. I found it interesting that one of the main suspects was a librarian. It kind of gave me something to relate to. I liked the way she was portrayed and it was an excellent book. Thanks to ThomasNelson Fiction and NetGalley for the ARC.

This is an excellent suspenseful novel about possible domestic terrorism set in San Antonio. Jackie Santoro was so focused on preparations for the library forum that she didn't think about the backpack that she passed on to the caterer. When a bomb exploded, Jackie knew she needed to pass that information on to authorities. Knowing Jackie's family history, Detective Avery Wick knew that she not only was a witness but also a prime suspect with thoughts of revenge. When more bombs go off, Avery doesn't believe that Jackie is behind it, but he has to follow every lead. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgallery. I love that the book is told through both Jackie's and Avery's point of view. I love that Jackie is a strong Christian and is non-judgmental towards others. I also love the Christian themes about faith and that when expletives were used by a character, the actual words weren't described. This book kept me riveted. Though some of the events that happened in the book were horrifying, they were not described in large detail. I am so glad that I picked up this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

This is my first Kelly Irvin book and darn it I love it. A huge thanks to the publisher for my ARC given in exchange for an honest review.Wow! I can't believe I can still type out this review because I kept reading just to find out who the bomber is. The suspense was delivered exceptionally well that every moment you thought you had pinned down on who did it you find yourself doubting that you actually have. I enjoyed this book so much and recommend it to everyone looking for a good thriller worth reading

Kelly Irvin has written an high octane page turner. A dangerous killer is loose in San Antonio, anyone could be the next target and time is running out to figure out who it is. The characters leap off the page, bringing the adrenaline pumping with each new clue they find and risk they take to find the killer. And will they find each other at the same time? A great mix of action, danger, and romance.
Jackie loves her job at the library. Helping another person find joy in the pages of the perfect for them book or planning the events to raise funds to keep all the programs running at the library bring great satisfaction and joy. But that world comes tumbling down with a giant boom, the stink and horror of death, and flying accusations. Jackie has become a prime suspect in a bombing that leaves her foundation shaken and cracked. Her life is torn apart and painful family troubles have a new light shone on them. Avery is a seasoned cop and even he can't erase the pain of the bombing. He diligently hunts down each clue and lead to find those responsible., which leads he to doubt Jackie's guilt. But who else has motive and access? And why is it getting harder and harder to remember Jackie is involved in the investigation and therefore off limits? Will they have time to explore these feelings or will the bomber have a finale that ends in disaster for them both?
Kelly Irvin keeps the pages turning with questions burning and nerves humming wondering what will happen next. This is a book I couldn't put down and didn't want to. I tried to figure out the clues and find the hints to the killer's identity as each step of the story came out. And wanted to cheer when Jackie and Avery started to realize there could be a future, if they could figure out the clues faster than I was! A definite book to be added to your read pile. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Her Every Move is a thrilling mystery written by Kelly Irvin, one that is infused with both romantic suspense and Christian Fiction.

There are times when it feels like the hits just keep on coming. Jackie Santoro is the prime suspect in a bombing – as it's believed she's attempting to avenge the suicide of her father. She knows of her innocence, but it's going to take more work to convince everyone else of that fact.

Especially as she's forced to continue with her plans of attending the Caterina Ball, another likely target for whoever is really behind these attacks. Will her actions help to exonerate her, or put her further into harm's way?

“Adrenaline pumped through Jackie's veins and left a metallic taste in the back of her throat.”

Her Every Move is very much a quick and thrilling read. It's one of those books that will happily entertain you on a cold and snowy day (speaking from personal experience here). This is a book that has a little bit of everything.

It blends together thriller and mystery elements, Christian fiction, and romantic suspense fairly flawlessly. The end result is an entertaining read, one that doesn't delve too deeply in any one direction. But instead sits comfortably in the center of it all.

One of the things I really enjoyed while reading Her Every Move is how hard it was to suss out who really did the crime. Not because they were visible characters – but because there were so many viable options introduced along the way. It made for a surprisingly complex mystery.

If you're looking for a realistic mystery novel, this isn't the book for you. However, if you're looking for something suspenseful, with a dash of romance, then the odds are good that this is a novel you'll enjoy.

4.5 stars for this romantic suspense novel by Kelly Irvin. This book follows Jackie Santoro, a librarian extraordinaire event planner, whose most recent event is bombed, killing her best friend and several others. Avery Wick is the detective on the case and he is taken with Jackie, even though he considers her a person of interest in the case. The plot thickens as the person responsible reaches out to the media and makes threats to bomb again. The police are racing against the clock and Jackie continues to find herself in the bomber's crosshairs. Will they catch the villain before more people die?

The plot of this one completely sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. The characters were well developed and likable. I enjoyed the family dynamics and the differences in the various families represented in the novel. I struggled a bit with the romance portion of the book, both because of the circumstances surrounding the romance and the differences in their faith walks. But clearly, I only took away a half star for this, so it wasn't a major issue. And the rest of the story made up for that a bit. :) After the villain was taken down, there were still 3 chapters, and so I appreciated the time taken to wrap up the story and show how the characters moved on after the trauma and tragedy. While I would enjoy seeing another book with these characters down the road to see how they continue to progress, there weren't any major loose ends left open. All in all, this was an enjoyable romantic suspense novel and I would recommend it to fans of that genre.

Special thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Detective Avery Wick doesn't think Jackie would plant a bomb - and explode it- at an event at her library. Others think she's responsible- pointing to the fact that her father committed suicide after he embezzled. That doesn't make sense, does it? Well, it especially doesn't make sense when bombs start exploding at other places in San Antonio. Jackie and Avery team up to find the villain - and slowly find love with each other. This is faith based romantic suspense so it's not steamy. The characters do occasionally and fleetingly question. their faith but never walk away from it. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Good characters and. a well done plot make this a good read.

When a deadly bomb goes off during a climate change debate, librarian and event coordinator Jackie Santoro becomes the prime suspect. Her motive, according to Detective Avery Wick: to avenge the suicide of her prominent father, who was accused of crimes by a city councilman attending the event.

Though Avery has doubts about Jackie’s guilt, he can’t exonerate her even after an extremist group takes responsibility for the bombing and continues to attack San Antonio’s treasured public spaces.

As Jackie tries to hold her shattered family together, she has no choice but to proceed with plans for the Caterina Ball, the library system’s biggest annual fundraiser. But she also fears the event provides the perfect opportunity for the bomber to strike again.

Despite their mistrust, Jackie and Avery join forces to unmask the truth—before the death toll mounts even higher.

This was a great mystery and left me guessing until the very end of the book. Jackie is caught in an explosion that costs her the life of one of her best friends. The culprit demands all city officials resign. Well of course they don't so there are more explosions. Jackie is the one planning the biggest event of the season, the Caterina Ball. That is threatened also. As Jackie and Avery work together to try to find the person responsible they become more than just acquaintances.

I would not class this as a Christian book. There's only a few refences of any thing related to Christianity. Avery is noted throughout the book as spewing obscenities.

I was given this book by Thomas Nelson Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in anyway.

Having read and enjoyed several of Ms. Irvin’s books, especially Closer Than She Knows, I was looking forward to reading this one. The well-structured plot with plenty of action and suspense kept me turning the pages and guessing, but I was generally disappointed in this read. The storyline was a little too political for me and not what I expect from Christian fiction. I had a difficult time connecting with the story and the characters. I enjoy the author’s style and attention to detail and can see why others have liked the book, but it just wasn’t enjoyable to me.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Having read bestselling author Kelly Irvin before, I was expecting from “Her Every Move” to be full of suspense novel. What I didn’t anticipate was the brutality of the start of the story. It opens with a bombing and in the first quarter of the book, the story focuses on the immediate aftermath. Perhaps I am fragile from all that occurs in the world but the description of the pain endured by the lead character was all too real for me.

The mystery behind who planted the bomb and is set to plant another (as described in the back cover) only arrives quite late in the book. It’s more about the fall out the deaths caused by the bombing has created and blaming those who have suffered.

When the intrigue arrives, it is interesting and I can’t fault the writing, it is beautifully crafted and moving. The characters are complex and relatable. Whilst not my cup of tea, it may be yours so it’s a three out of five on the enJOYment scale for me.
