Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the ARC of Christmas in Evergeen: Tidings of Joy by Nancy Naigle.

Evergreen is a little town in Vermont full of Christmas magic. It has a magic wishing snow globe, Chris Kringle Kitchen, and the most friendly people. Kate travels to Evergreen to find some inspiration to write her second book. On the train ride up, she bumps into Ben. The book takes you through the town- making cookies, creating ornaments, ice-skating and even finding a Christmas calendar time capsule.

The book is just as sweet as I would expect from Hallmark Publishing. If you are looking for a light Christmas read, this is perfect. I have not read any other books in the series and I was able to jump in with no confusion.

Christmas in Evergreen was a fun ready! Lots of joy and a little mystery, I will now need to watch the movie! I did find it a bit hard to keep up with the previously introduced characters because this is the first book I've read by Naigle. Other than that I enjoyed it!

First sentence: Way up north, nestled in the heart of Vermont, there’s a little town called Evergreen. Some say it’s so far north that on a clear day you might be able to catch a glimpse of Santa’s workshop in the North Pole. Evergreen beckons tourists from all over. Many come just to see its famous magical snow globe that sits in a place of honor in the Chris Kringle Kitchen, owned by Joe and Carol Shaw. People come from far and wide to give that snow globe a good shake and make their wish, then drop a letter to Santa in the big red mailbox in the middle of town square. If they’re lucky, they might even catch a glimpse of the old red truck, decorated with garland and bows, delivering Christmas trees to the locals.

Premise/plot: Katie, our New Yorker heroine, is on her way to Evergreen, Vermont, to relax. On the train she meets a native Evergreenian, Ben. There's a bit of a quick spark between the two--she's hoping that the week she's in town she'll bump into him again. But it isn't until her vacation becomes prolonged--she might be doing a story on the town's Christmas festivities--that the two really get the chance to connect. Ben was raised by his grandmother, Nan, the town's librarian. He is torn between wanting to stay in his hometown and help out at the library--he loves books--and looking for work in New York City. As the two countdown the days of Christmas--advent calendar style--could they be falling in love?

My thoughts: I enjoyed this one. I did. It is the third in the series. I'm not sure if there's a movie for each book in the series, or just a movie for the first one? But Evergreen, Vermont, is the setting for at least one Hallmark movie apparently. Readers get a chance to reconnect with a town full of characters. I'm imagining some of the characters in this one were first introduced in previous books. (There are multiple love stories hinted at.) It felt like a sweet, sentimental read.

3.5 Stars. Katie, a resident of New York City, decides to take a trip to Evergreen, Vermont prior to Christmas. On the train ride into Evergreen, she meets Ben, a former journalist and local resident. Katie discovers the joy and magic of Evergreen when the town discovers the Christmas Time Capsule from fifty years ago.

“Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy” is fairly quick read if you are looking to continue to extend the holiday season as long as possible {I know I am!}. This written adaptation of the Hallmark movie stays fairly true to the story, and while both are enjoyable, I do like the original “Christmas in Evergreen” the best. Overall, the novel is a festive, fast, and fun read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Truly magically and heart warming. Leaves you wanting to take a fictional Trip to Evergreen. Grab a copy and take a trip that leaves you wanting to move here. Nancy Naigle never lets me down with any of her books. Always a delight to grab a copy of one of her books.

That’s right this perfect Hallmark book focuses on Katie a writer who heads to Evergreen to focus on her writing. The town of Evergreen doesn’t seem real to Katie and neither does Ben, big city reporter turned small town librarian. They find each other and a time capsule that bonds them and the town. I loved this one. Also, an extra highlight is the hallmark recipe in the back of the book too!

I always enjoy returning to Evergreen, Vermont each year. This year we’ll discover how two strangers on a train can connect yet still be wary of each other’s intentions as we watch the magic of one Christmas loving town show them the true reasons of this holiday season – love.

Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy is a fun, charming story of Ben, a resident of Evergreen, and Katie, a struggling author who must write about this small town full to the brim with Christmas spirit. Katie doesn’t buy into the hype about this place, there is no town that could possibly be so over the top for Christmas unless there’s an underlying ploy. Ben has left the chaos of the big city behind and now calls Evergreen home. He recognizes Katie’s skepticism and will do everything within his power to show her the err in her thinking… and perhaps convince her to stay right here – with him for the rest of their lives.

Add in a time capsule, a bit of a mystery, the shenanigans of the townsfolk, and tons of Christmas cheer and you’ll discover a Christmas Romance that will capture your heart, your imagination, and leave you smiling at the final page. I had a blast with Tidings of Joy – and if you love a good Christmas love story then you’ll find it right here.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Hallmark Publishing via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I’m addicted to Hallmark Christmas movies. There. I said it. I had been looking for a book version of a Hallmark movie for some time. I was very excited when I had the opportunity to read this, seeing that it was based off the Hallmark movie. This book was exactly what I was expecting and it did not disappoint - perfect Christmas town, perfect, almost unbelievable love stories. We all need a break from reality sometimes, and it was nice to get away to Evergreen for a bit.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Ohhhh I LOVE these Evergreen stories!!! This one doesn’t disappoint except for the fact that Evergreen isn’t a REAL place!! I find myself wanting to visit!

This was my second Evergreen book and it was so good! You will love all of the characters and the sweet love that blooms!

Traveling on the Evergreen Express train from new York City, Katie arrives in Evergreen, Vermont on a snowy day and feels as if she has entered a Christmas story. Although Katie plans to get some much-needed rest and recreation, she also intends to increase her creative energy and start an outline for a new novel. When she meets Ben and his friends in Evergreen, Katie discovers small town hospitality, friendship, and Christmas spirit in a whole new way. As the town plans for the 50th Annual Christmas Festival and discovers a hidden "time capsule," Katie become more involved with the town and with Ben. Will she return to her big city life in New York, or succumb to the lure of the small town aura?

This novel captures the joy of the Christmas season, as portrayed in the Hallmark film of the same name. Readers who seek a clean and gentle holiday read, without violence, strong language, or intimate descriptions will appreciate this lovely story. The characters are likeable, and the setting abounds with Christmas themes and traditions. Although this novel is part of the Evergreen series, it can be read as a stand-alone story. Readers of the previous titles in the series will become reacquainted with the characters from those stories, and meet new ones. Prepare for joy and romance with a holiday spirit, set in a small town that seems too good to be true!

I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Here's the thing about books that are based on movies: they have to get the setting right. After all, the main thing holiday movies have over stories, is that you can basically feel the cosiness. In Christmas in Evergreen Tidings of Joy, though, Nancy Naigle manages to get that exactly right.
From the first introduction to Evergreen, you are basically surrounded by Christmas-ness. So much so, that it might even feel a bit forced, a bit faked. Luckily, that's kind of the point, isn't it? Nothing - no town - could possibly be this into the holidays? The fun bit is that you basically get to follow Katie as she discovers that maybe, yes, it is.
The sheer amount of characters you're introduced to in the first couple of chapters is, admittedly, a bit overwhelming. Although that might also just be because I haven't seen any of the Christmas in Evergreen movies. It did kinda make me want to go back and read the other books, or see the other movies, if only to get how a truck made an entire relationship happen.
What's more, there's a a certain level of meta, as we're seeing this town largely through the eyes of a writer, who is constantly reflecting on the story-ability of the town and its inhabitants. I mean, let's be real, it's based on a hallmark movie, so cliches and over the top romance are basically guaranteed. (Hannah and Elliot, I'm looking at you). But add in a Christmas mystery and almost too many traditions to be contained in one novel? And you're left with a thoroughly enjoyable holiday read!

✍️ Katie, an author struggling to write her second novel, heads to Evergreen, for a holiday retreat. Her holiday, though, soon turns in an assignment to write an article about the town. On the train, she meets Ben, a former big-city reporter who’s now a librarian in Evergreen.

♥️ I liked:
✍️ The writing background of the characters. As I often say, I love books that feature librarians, bookshop owners, writers or journalists, because I really enjoy both reading and writing. I like being part of any writer's creative process and I love to see their curiosity pushing them to find new stories. In this case, Katie is a writer/journalist and Ben is a journalist/librarian... what else could people ask for?
❄️ The atmosphere. The lovely small town romance atmosphere makes this book as sweet as a Christmas cookie. The perfect way to enter in the season's spirit.
☃️ The snow globe that makes wishes come true. I totally believe that wishes can come true, especially at Christmas. I loved the idea of the magic snow globe that can grant wishes, and almost got heartbroken when it fell into pieces on the floor of Chris Kringle Kitchen coffee shop.
🎅The quest for the Christmas Time Capsule. It gives the book a purpose. The novel is not just about the love story between the two main characters, but also about the history of the town and its people.

⭐⭐⭐ 3.5/5 A feel-good Christmas romance that will make your eyes sparkle of joy.

Review
Overall I enjoyed this story, especially because of the town it took place in and the heartwarming relationships between the characters. It is truly a Christmas feel-good story! There are so many characters in town that you almost feel like you are in the town yourself while reading the book. The book is based on a Hallmark film, and even though I haven't seen it, it shows through in the book. There are a lot of characters and points of view, which sometimes makes it a bit harder to follow. Also, I sometimes was doubtful about the ages of the inhabitants and there was some repetition of facts that I found unnecessary. But, the plot of the story was fun and it was an easy Christmas read! If you want to read a story full of snowy weather, Christmas traditions, roasting marshmallows by the fire and newfound love then this is definitely a book for you!

I got a copy of this book via Netgalley and would like to thank Netgalley, the publisher and the author, Nancy Naigle, for this fun read. I read this voluntarily and all my opinions are my own.

This book is based on a Hallmark movie so it is charming and warm. The town of Evergreen is full of Christmas magic with a letterbox in the center of town only for letters to Santa, tons of homemade food, caroling parties, ice skating on the local pond, a wish-granting snow globe, and a Christmas time capsule from fifty years ago. The love stories are interwoven throughout the book and lasting friendships are created. It is a must-read for Hallmark movie fans!
Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

This is the next installment of the story of Evergreen for Hallmark. And we all love Hallmark Christmas movies. They make you feel good and you know you can watch them with the whole family so you know the books will be good too. In this story Katie an author trying to write the next big book is going to Evergreen for the holidays. She knows that Evergreen loves Christmas so she has to see this for herself. She meets a handsome stranger on the train that happens to work in Evergreen. You know how the story goes. There's a little chemistry between them but a little headbutting too. Will Katie come to love Evergreen like Ben does? Will she celebrate Christmas there from now on?
