As usual Reisz manages to mix spookiness + erotica + character development into a story that seems like it shouldn't work but somehow does. Arthur Godwick enters into a deal with the devil, aka Regan Ferry, the owner of the Pearl, to get his brother out of a sticky situation. He agrees to spend a number of nights with Regan, a widow with a mysterious past. During their encounters, the ancestors of Arthur and other people tied to the Pearl push Arthur and Regan together. But Regan has a secret that threatens to drive them apart if she lets herself fall for Arthur.
I didn't love this one as much as The Rose, but I still really enjoyed it. I liked Arthur's character and the idea of the art informing their interactions. Reisz knows how to push the limits, and this book is no exception. If you like intelligent erotica, this book would be your thing!

Okay, so I started reading it excitedly only to realize that it has my least favorite trope - older woman/ younger man. I really dislike it and I knew it that if I went ahead I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. They were almost 9 years apart I think? So I stopped. I mean the author should've mentioned about it in the description as some people don't enjoy it. Don't get me wrong I love age-gap romance when it's the other way around but this particular trope just seems weird to me. Not gonna apologize for that because we all have different taste.

Well written, this story of finding love...

... with help from the other side.

Found it to be a very enjoyable story,
hot, passionate, and quite creative !.

Once again Tiffany Reisz does it agan with her bold storytelling! I devoured this story in one day it was that good.
Lord Arthur Godwick would do anything for his family and he proves that by sstepping in to thelp his borther get out of a huge mess. But what is supposed to be a simple exchange with Lady Ferry might uncover things within them that neither of them expected. With each and everybook with this family you fall deeper in love with the characters.

THE PEARL is the third book in the Godwicks series and I definitely think that it’s my favorite one. I always say this, but my favorite books from Reisz are these types of books. The sultry and sexy type always draw me in and I really do think Reisz writes these the best. THE PEARL blends together some historical aspects with the Erotic Romance, but I really think that the sexiness is what shines in this book.

As always, you have some pretty interesting main characters. Lord Arthur Godwick is the older responsible brother, so when his brother racks up some major debt, indulging in some whores, he is the one who must fix the situation.

Regan is the owner of The Pearl Hotel and when she gets her hands on the famous Godwick art, she doesn’t want to let it go. However, that picture is so important to Arthur and his family that he strikes a deal with Regan in order to get it back. Ten days with her. But it turns out to be much more than that.

I really loved this book. It was sexy, funny, and sometimes sweet too. The romance was done well and there was a ton of chemistry between the two characters. I think you can probably overlook the Historical aspects pretty easily because I have noticed some inconsistency with the details, especially with the dialogue. I don’t think people would speak that way in that time. However, I could still overlook it.

There was just one thing that kept bugging me about the book and that’s the fact that Regan kept bringing up Arthur’s great grandfathers and all the other Godwick men before him. I get it; they have an infamous history with Pearl Hotel but when it comes to the sexy times, the last thing I want to picture is Arthur’s great grandfather, etc. I think Arthur was tired of hearing it too.

Other than that, I read this book really quickly because I enjoyed it so much. I’m hoping that Reisz will write more stories like this one. It’s definitely her forte.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Quite tasteful erotica, and a story that keeps you engaged and is not just sex. Worth a read.

I love Tiffany Reisz's book and this series is no exception. I think this was my favorite book of the series.
When Lord Arthur Godwick tries to rescue his brother from a drunken bender, he finds that he owes a lot more than expected. In order to get back the family's beloved painting of a long ago relation, Lord Malcolm, Arthur must make a deal with Regan Ferry, the new owner of The Pearl.
I really enjoyed the story between them since it seemed so real. I also like how the conclusion wrapped up the series along with Lord Malcolm's finale.

Tiffany Reisz is the queen of Erotica for sure and this book was fire and passion!
I was engrossed by the story ,I just wished I had read the other books in the series , even if The Pearl is a standalone!

It has been a long time since I have read -- let alone enjoyed -- an erotic thriller. The novel was sexy and had all the trademarks of a romantic novel with it's exciting kinks, but it was the back story that truly stood out. I really enjoyed the history and the subtle use of the supernatural to add a layer of complexity and interest to the narrative. This was a light, sexy read done well.

This book just didn't work for me. It reminded me of reading a text book, it was so boring. I didn't think there was much chemistry between Arthur and Regan. I did think that Arthur was a good character.

Atypical Tiffany read, full of hot sex and twisted fantasies. She switches between love and mind games with consummate ease.

I enjoyed the characters and the setting of this story. the love scenes were written well, although sometimes the technical terms could disrupt an otherwise well written scene. The characters had chemistry. I definetely want to go back and read the previous books as the ghost story part of this book was very intriguing.

I have loved every other Tiffany Reisz I have ever read, but The Pearl didn't grab me the way her other stories and couples have.

What I loved about The Pearl was a contemporary play on power structures and locations most often found in historical romances. Mayfair, Dukes, Lords and Ladies are still all in play in The Pearl, but they carry cell phones and drive cars instead of carriages. The world felt both familiar and new and I enjoyed that aspect of the book immensely. I also loved looking up the paintings that played characters in the novel and the how Reisz' detailed descriptions did the pieces justice.

Hero Arthur, would be the heir were we reading a historical, is a handsome 21 year old who seeks to stand apart from his family's rather scandalous history, still being lived out loud by his parents, sister and younger brother Charlie. While the rest of the family enjoys debauchery, publicly, Arthur has attended military college and is about to join the British service.

And yet he finds himself called to The Pearl, a historical pleasure house turned hotel, which his family has a long and complicated history with. He's there to bail out little brother Charlie, a task Arthur feels honor bound to do, but resents all the same. This is how strait laced Arthur finds him serving the whims of the hotel owner, Lady Reagan Ferry, often on his knees.

I struggled to connect with the connection between Reagan and Arthur, in part because the power play and dynamics fluctuated in ways I didn't understand as the characters had been written. I continued the book to learn more about the art, the mystery, but the hero and heroine ended up being secondary to that, despite scores of explicit and steamy scenes between the two.

I had no clue what I was getting into when I opened this book and my god it did not disappoint. This erotic novel was full of steam with just the right amount of taboo.

Arthur Godwick has to bail out his brother Charlie, yet again. But this time, widowed Reagan, owner of The Pearl Hotel, doesn't want money. She wants Arthur at her beck and call. And who wouldn't want a man 10 years her junior completely submissive to her requests? What starts off as a purely physical relationship begins to be altered by a paranormal presence that taunts the lovers with disturbances in their room. The ghost seems to be driving them together, but is that really what Reagan and Arthur want?

As with all of her books, she has a creative and very naughty mind. There is at least a story that goes along with the sex and all are tastefully written.

As always, a total winner!

Richly drawn and detailed, this story perfectly balances the erotic with the mysterious, the romantic, and the spooky. With lots of extra artistic details thrown in, it offers up a very vivid tale that's easy to see in your mind's eye as you read.

I've been a fan of Tiffany Reisz since I first read her first book, The Siren, and this book didn't let me down. She is an incredibly talented author with a pen perfect for teasing and titillating readers.

It was okay. The sex was alright. The mystery was intriguing. I didn't realize it was the third book in a series and not a stand alone, so i was a bit lost, but honestly, i feel like you could read this even without reading the other ones. I guess it just didn't hold my attention all that well, though. It wasn't as interesting as i thought it was going to be based off the premise.

This erotica was meh at best. It sounded interesting when i read the blurb, maybe i had too high expetations? I ended up just being bored and did not feel interested with the characters at all.

The pearl is one of those books that will keep you engrossed in the story from the beginning to the last page.
The steamy scenes that I was already used from the author haven’t missed in here and as usual, this one brings more interesting characters and the art inclusion makes it a great novel .
Personally I didn’t liked the paranormal elements and I thought it could’ve been a great story without that addition at all but that’s just my opinion.
