Life has turned upside down for Owen when his brother and sister-in-law are killed in a car accident. With co-parenting responsibilities for Myles left to him in their will, alongside Sam his sister-in-law's younger sister.

Owen is leaving his job as a Navy SEAL in order to be around for Myles. Sam is a medical researcher who's project is just coming to an end so hopes to be around more for Myles. Attempting to co-parenting together in the family home until they get settled and sort out custody arrangements. Either of them have parented before, still grieving and each harbouring feelings for the other.

If life was already chaotic, the threats, emails and notes that Sam had been receiving to stop her research. Suddenly step up as she nears the trial phase of her work. It's a good job she has a Navy SEAL to hand.

An emotional read dealing with death, responsibility and the murking world of pharmaceutical companies.

I loved the concept that the hero was the one more comfortable parenting, instead of the usual trope of a woman coming to his rescue. The pace of the story went a bit to fast for me. There was danger, then in a few paragraphs it was over!

Family loss bringing everyone together in this heartwarming story. Owen and Sam working out how to care for Myles while going through their own grief. Owen has to deal with his parents who want to take over and his interest in Sam. Lots of action going on that keeps your interest til the end. Enjoyable Read!!!

This book was just okay for me. Pretty standard, middle of the road, no surprises, romance. There is nothing new or original here. It just feels like a decent read with a predictable plot and the expected ending.

The circumstances that brings Sam and Owen together are sad. They are wonderful though. Owen takes to fatherhood right away. Protecting his family is second nature for him. Sam is so lucky to be included in that family.
