Roaring Brook Press and NetGalley provided me with an Advanced Reader's Copy of Skyhunter. The choice to review this book was my own.

Talin came to Mara as a refugee, with her nation destroyed by the Federation and their army of mutant creatures known as Ghosts. As a Striker, an elite fighter that stands as the last defense of Talin's adopted home, the young woman must shoulder very adult responsibilities on her well trained and capable shoulders. When an unknown is brought from the front to the capital, Talin is drawn to the prisoner. What is his secret and does he have the power to destroy everything that Talin has worked to build for herself and her mother?

Skyhunter has a fast pace and a good flow, but the plot itself is lacking. It is predictable at times and unbelievable at others. As this is science fiction, a little leeway as far as plot can be taken, but the author takes the concept a little too far in my opinion. I like Talin, as she is a strong and determined young woman, but there is really not much to distinguish her from the other female characters that author Marie Lu features in her series. Overall, Skyhunter is a quick read, but is not as good as the author's previous works.
