Louis ha a problem with the wiggles. Everyone tells him he has ants in his pants which he thinks are real. Luckily Mom comes to the rescue to help him conquer his wiggles. The illustrations are very well done as is the chorus about ants in pants. (And catchy too!). This is a cute bedtime story and has tips to help children with the wiggles at the end of the book. This book would be good for schools and libraries especially during story time.

This book has been a great resource for my job as an elementary school counselor. Several students were struggling with the wiggles. I happened to say to a 1st-grade student that he had ants in his pants and he was quickly confused. I tried to explain what I meant but this job did a much better job while also discussing ways to get the wiggles out while.

I Have Ants in My Pants is a wonderful book for any "movers and shakers" in your home or classroom. Louis returns with his struggles to sit still in social situations. This books has beautiful, engaging illustrations. Author included solid teaching tips at the end. I will purchase a copy for my office library. Thanks National Center of Youth Issues and Netgalley for the ARC of this title.

Unique story that teaches us that sometimes it is okay to wiggle and not stand still.. A mom teaches a little dance and the words to the song are adorable.

I Have Ants in My Pants is a funny story that reminds me so much of my littles at school. Like many of my students, the main character has a hard time sitting still and controlling the wiggles. I especially like how the author included strategies in the book to help students cope when that urge to wiggle kicks in!

I Have Ants in My Pants is such a good story for children to learn some tips on self control when they start feeling a little wiggly. My son age 7 does get ants in his pants from time to time. He liked this book because he was able to relate to the character. He did question why every time the boy in the book got ‘antsy’ he kicked someone. I think this book would be good for children pre-k up through second grade.
This book very cute, great illustrations and fun to read.

I Have Ants in My Pants by Julia Cook is a good tool to help kids why they might get antsy and have trouble staying still and in control. Still, it would have been a little more appropriate if it were shorter- the little ones had trouble staying focused through the story, but the dance was fun.
Many thanks to the National Center for Youth Issues and NetGalley for the ARC.

Based on the title it’s easy to guess that this book is about ways for kids to learn to sit still. It is quite effective and the illustrations are nice. I think the book is overlong, and that too many ants in the pants scenarios are given, but the advice on how to combat these ants was nice and will be effective for many.

What an adorable book on the inability to sit still and how to get control of your wiggles! It's a fun, rhyming story that children will love to listen to. The advice on how to curb your wiggles and control those ants in your pants is just as applicable for parents as it is kids! This is a great book for parents, educators, librarians, grandparents...everyone who deals with children!

Such a well composed story book relating some scenarios how some kids cannot sit still (as we adults expect them to in gatherings and in class).

People around including the kids in the class kept mocking our child character who cannot sit still for long. They keep telling him there must be ants inside his pants! He keeps worrying about this and what if these ants bit him!

But thanks to his mom who understands his condition and gives him tips on how to focus on other things and such. Actually these are helpful tips we can share in real. Yes, well done storybook. Here what everyone does is being strick, criticize ir scold the kids for no fault of theirs.

Helpful book indeed.

Thank you, publishers and the Authors for the copy.

My kids absolutely loved this book and spent 3 whole days pretending they had ants in their pants. It's a good story with a good lesson and the best part is that it keeps them engaged through the whole thing!
Definitely a good one to have on hand if you have an antsy kids

This was a cute book on executive function for young children. I think it would work great for kindergarten through grade 3. As a book for children that need to learn how to control themselves while sitting still it is a tad long for the purpose. My 4 year old was a little “antsy” herself as we read it. All in all I think it was a pleasant read for children, and it came with great tips for parents in the back to help with teaching children how to control their wiggles.

I loved this book and the perspective it offered! So many kids (and adults!) have "Ants" in their pants. A compassionate way to recognize it and address it helpfully and in a manner that kids will understand, this book gets it. Light-hearted but also direct in addressing a serious topic!

Cute story about a little boy who has a hard time standing still and gives good tips on helping children who have "ants in their pants". Good reminder to adults to remember that children can take things we say quite literally. I like the bright illustrations and the rhyming text. I would use it with the older toddlers who are 2 in my room and recommend it for preschool age children. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy from NetGalley.

What is Louis to do when he always has ants in his pants and cant sit still. He keeps causing problems in his school and at home when he just cant sit still. After his mother teaches him some helpful tricks he is able to better manage his wiggles at school and is even able to help his friend with his wiggles.

This is a very creative way to help children master some self control and self management in the classroom and at home when they feel that they cannot sit still. This book provides some helpful tools in order to calm their bodies and get some energy out so that they can sit still during a period of time when they need to be actively listening.

The illustrations in this book are very down to earth and applicable to a child and not to busy for a child.

I do not prefer the font used in this sample.

"I Have Ants in My Pants" is a great book about finding ways to control the "Ants in your Pants". I like how the book included some great tips to help young kids (and maybe even some hyperactive adults) find their focus when they need to. I'd recommend this book for people with children in preschool through elementary school. The illustrations were great also.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Do you know of a kiddo that can't seem to sit still? Instead of getting impatient with them, give them tools and strategies to help your child with those wiggles.

Louis can't seem to sit still. At reading time, he kicks his friend and his teacher tells him he must have ants in his pants. Not knowing what that means, he looks to his mother who helps him with those "ants". Your child might see themselves in Louis. With the tools provided, they will have success in the classroom and at home. Louis is a good role model in controlling those urges and helping others as well.

A special thank you to National Center for Youth Issues and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

A fun book for children who just can’t sit still... or have to sit next to children who can’t sit still. It has a very clear message- perhaps too clear as the message seems to shout louder than the story in places but it would be good to read to a class of nursery or reception children who are constantly fidgeting.

This book is such a cute way to teach children to sit still during school or times we need to. The illustrations fit the story and just added to the fun! My kids and I enjoyed the rhymes and we all laughed at the wiggle dance. They had to jump in a do it along with Louis. The story included a few tips on how to stay still and why it's important. My kids (6yr and 2yr old) lost a little interest when there were "too many words on the page" but overall they listened to the story. We enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it to parents with wiggly little ones!
