I loved this book! I love getting Emme's POV and seeing her start to come into her own. I just hope Bren comes to his senses soon before he regrets it! I just can't wait for the next book!!

Emme is the youngest of the Wird Sisters, though she knows she is just as important as her sisters she always feels like the odd man out. She wants what her friends and family have a good relationship and happiness. Unfortunately that seems to elude her especially the first time she tries a dating site. Instead she ends up in a middle of a bunch of trouble with her best friend Bren, the wolf she just happens to be in love with.
A lot of humor at times hard to follow.

The Wird aka Weird sisters have turned the paranormal world upside down with their unique abilities and sassy attitudes. The series has gained quite the fandom and the Weird sisters have carved a special place on my bookshelf.

The Wird sisters are intense with bold personalities and a “tell it like it is” attitude that makes them pretty badass. The exception to this rule is Emme- youngest Wird sister, innocent, kind, compassionate with her background in healing. Emme is all about making love and not war and after the most disastrous date of the century with a pretty bad dating record she just wants to find her “mate”, someone to call her own.

Emme was a really complex character which I appreciated. Being from a large family, especially of sisters, there's always the tendency for jealousy and fighting. Emme has been battling self-esteem issues for her entire life feeling like an outsider looking into her crazy chaotic family. This coupled with her “pushover” attitude makes her feel like she has no voice.

Touch of evil gave Emme that opportunity to prove to everyone that she may be tiny but she is mighty. It also gave us a sweet introduction into a possible “ship” with Bren who has enough issues in his past to write a novel.

Touch of Evil was a delightfully funny yet at times serious murder mystery novella that was the perfect introduction to Emme and Bren.

Thank you to Cecy Robinson and NetGalley for providing me with an arc!

Continuing the adventures of the Weird girls, this book has all the elements of an urban fantasy and romance novel. I was swept away with the story as it unfolded, turning pages long into the night. Definitely would recommend reading the first books to get a grasp on the characters, it's worth it. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

I like the Weird - sorry Wird - sisters, so was pleased to pick up this one about Emme, the healer and quietest, calmest of the group.

Emme and Bren face a nasty magic threat, which wants to eliminate Emme so they can crack on with killing Celia and her unborn world saving baby. Emme remains calm and quiet, but definitely doesn't lack courage. Bren on the other hand is brash and loud, quite the opposite of Emme and clearly has issues about permanent relationships because of his past.

While I enjoyed the book, I found Emme and Bren to be too much opposites to be entirely convincing. Although I liked the way Emme came across in her narrated sections, she came across as a bit flat as a character while Bren was narrating. But the writing's good and carries you along, so that was enjoyable. I'll probably read the next one.

I absolutely love the Weird Girls! And Touch of Evil was no exception. The story is told in Emme and Bren’s (hilarious) perspectives. It’s full of danger, magic, laughs, and romance (finally). It’s a quick read - novella length - that will keep you glued to the pages.

I would like to thank #CecyRobsonLLC for providing me with an #ARC of #TouchofEvil by #CecyRobson, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Touch of Evil is the tenth book in the Weird Girls series, and the first book in the series from Emme's perspective. When Emme's disastrous date leads to a murder, Emme is paired up with one of her best friends, and longtime crush, Bren, werewolf, and a member of Aric's pack, to figure out who did it, and put a stop to it.

It is not a secret that I love Cecy Robson. I adore the Weird Girls series, as well as her Shattered Past and O'Brien Family Books. So I am not exaggerating that I literally did a small happy dance at work, when I received an email that I was approved for this ARC. That being said, Touch of Evil surprised me. It wasn't bad by any means. Touch of Evil is fun, and reflective of Cecy Robson's incredible imagination. I only have two issues with it: it's length, and it's narrative. Touch of Evil is ... short, compared to the former books. I would classify it as more of a novella than a novel, as I was able to finish it in six hours. As for narrative, I like first person narrative, but it's inconsistant with the previous books. I love that there isn't a long wait between her novels, but I would have been okay to wait longer for an extended, more in depth story. Secondly, whereas the rest of the series is written in past tense, this one is written in present. Not a big deal, but noticeable. It's important to note that Touch of Evil doesn't actually continue from where we left off at the end of Of Flame and Fury, but goes back to the space of time between Of Flame and Light and Of Flame and Fate. So it would have made more sense to stick with a past tense narrative. Touch of Evil is really an explanation for us Weird Girls fans to find out what happened between Bren and Emme.

I'm not going to lie ... I was a little worried about reading a book from Emme's perspective. Celia's POV is fierce and moody, and Taran's is hilarious ... Emme has never really stood out to me. Which makes me feel bad, considering her thoughts and feelings on the matter in the book (and yes ... I feel things over characters. haha.) I was worried she would be boring. Emme's inner thoughts are more interesting than I thought they would be. Do I miss Celia and Taran's perspectives ... yes. But Cecy deciding to add in Bren's perspective as well throughout the book balances out Emme's shy and sweet personality, with his hilarious thoughts and mouth. I love Bren (read his novella A Cursed Moon if you haven't yet), and I won't deny I have been totally looking forward for this book JUST for Bren. There were a few lines where I snorted, or out right laughed, and it all came from him. There was even a moment where I got misty eyed.

While there were a couple of misses for me with Touch of Evil, there was plenty of things I loved about it. Emme's last line in the book refers to Bren not being ready for an "us", but the world is ... and she is right. I honestly can't wait for the next book (where I hope it jumps back to the present timeline, and a longer story line) for more Bren and Emme ... because the taste we get in this book was not enough!

I was completely mesmerized by the imagery Cecy Robson gave in Touch of Evil. From the first word to it’s last. I have been waiting for Emme’s story forever, and this book has outdone my expectations. Emme and Bren’s story has only begun its tale. She finds herself in a situation after her date turned up not only dead but dismembered. It’s up to them to solve the murder. Full of laughter, action and adventure, this Weird Sister is a kick butt and take names Heroine. Who definitely is just as powerful as her sisters. I can not wait to see what happens next with Emme , Bren and the whole family.

The groundwork over the course of the series was laid and its finally here. Bren and Emme go on one heck of adventure and well things happen. Good things, very good things. Its funny getting Bren's perspective during this book. He's always seemed so confident and Emme just knocks him off his game completely. A wonderful story in this series and I can't wait to see what happens with these two.
