I do find this creator hit and miss. My previous Benny book was something about the girl and her dog and whether the dog could have swimming lessons. D'uh. This is the girl and the dog and a hairdresser, who might well end up giving the mutt a trim – especially if it kicks off in the salon, that is. The previous book was majorly flawed as it didn't seem to obey by its own rules (a poolside girl in outdoor gear worried about her pooch being in the right bathing clothes; ignorance of the fact dogs can, like, swim etc) – this is flawed by the fact it's not entertaining. It's a book that claims to be a drama of a girl at the hairdressers, but it clearly is using her experience – and that of the mutt – to show that such experiences are OK and might actually be beneficial and fun. That's a lesson any parent worth their salt could get across, and this didn't seem at all a fun way to address that earth-shattering issue. Two stars is being very generous. Now, do you want wax with that?
This was a short read about a dog who accompanies his human to the hair salon. I could see this silly story being entertaining for a young child, but I thought the illustrations were better than the story.
A fun little story about a girl and her dog going to the salon. They both get haircuts and leave looking and feeling fabulous! Great for kids to get acclimated to a salon and what it entails via a book.
