The second Blue, Barry, and Pancakes adventure is just as wacky and fun as the first. Blue and Barry want a day just for themselves, but Pancakes has other plans: she's made a rocket, and a planet made of balloons, and before Blue or Barry can say a word, they're zooming off into space, where they'll find themselves facing a giant Balloonian - a resident of Balloonia, naturally - named Balloon Kong. Will the trio ever get home? Will Blue and Barry ever get their quiet day? You have to read it to find out! This is such a fun series that you can easily start reading with preschoolers. The humor is light, laugh-out-loud funny, and the characters are endearing and adorable.

I can't really review this. When I try to download directly to my computer or to NetGalley Shelf app, I get the first book in the series, not Escape From Balloonia. Sorry.

Book: Blue, Barry & Pancakes: Escape from Balloonia
Release Date: RELEASES on June 8, 2021
Author: Dan & Jason
Genre: Children's Fiction

This is such a silly, fun book that I think young children will enjoy. The characters really remind me of Piggie and Elephant in the Mo Willems series. The illustrations are vibrant and the silly escapades Blue, Barry, and Pancakes go on will make you laugh and shake your head at the same time. I would suggest this for children preK-Grade 3.

Blue, Barry and Pancakes are a trio of fun loving creatures. Each one has a distinct personality that any reader can relate to . Escape from Balloonia is a quick paced adventure in rescuing a beloved ball. When Blue and Barry want to play with Pancakes beach ball without his consent, an exciting adventure ensues. Through out the book, the trio find themselves in hair raising situations but eventually make it back to safety. The illustrations are colorful and help to bring the story to life. The sparse words and colorful illustrations will attract reluctant readers and ones starting to learn. At the end of the book, there is a biography on each of the main characters. Giving readers some fun facts to take away.

Blue, Barry & Pancakes is another fantastic addition to the canon of early reader graphic novels! While I hadn't read the first entry in the series prior to this one, it didn't matter, which is excellent for younger readers. The conflict in the story is small, but one that children will absolutely relate to. Kids are almost guaranteed to love the bright colors and fun designs. Highly recommended for libraries with young patrons.

Graphic Novels about friendship with quirky characters - this set seemed a bit vapid with very little deeper insight even for a kids' book.

That was a fun easy graphic novel. This is great for newly-independent readers just getting into graphic novels. The text is easy to read, there's not a lot of it, and there's repetition in words. The art is fun and colorful without being too detailed or busy. The story is cute and fun. I think any adventure with the three friends will be great.

This book was the funniest little graphic chapter book I have read. I loved the little story how friends will always help in the end , that is what I got out of the book. The colors of the illustrations were very lovely and catching. I loved how bright the pages were , it brought the story to life. I would love to see more stories about these characters. The story line in the book was adorable.

An updated "Frog and Toad" for over a connected generation. The colors literally POP! I definitely got the vibe of an underground comic, but that may be just me. While it's in the graphic novel format it's not too busy that it can't be shared as a read-aloud. I give it a hearty "I am going to buy this for my library" thumbs up.
