Playing with Trouble is a lovely feel good romance of finding that special someone when you least expect it.
Cole is a professional rugby player that after an injury is on holiday by himself to regroup. He decides to stay at a friends home in America and just be. He isn't expecting the tool wheeling woman in her undies to threaten him but yes she did and she is sassy.
Jane is a single mom to such a sweet little very out going boy and she is on a work assignment. When her ex husband isn't able to pick up their son Finn she now needs a nanny or a manny !
The house that Jane is restoring just got a wee bit smaller when the big brooding silent type moves in.
They soon discover a routine and each evening they share a bit more. Cole sees that Jane needs a sitter and he just jumps in and offers his services. I loved watching this couple banter, share and discover themselves and each other . Our little man Finn was just such a breath of fresh air and quite the ice breaker for Cole and Jane.

Wonderfully written story with endearing characters, especially the four year old Finn and his pet chameleon. And of course, the hard won HEA.

Former Australian rugby star Cole Hauser, exhausted after several surgeries following an auto accident, was invited by former quarterback, Wade Carter, to spend some time recovering at his home in Clearance, Colorado. Wade or CC, his wife, forgot to mention that he had other guests- single mother Jane Spencer hired by CC to restore their historical home and her four year old son. Cole literally falls into the first bed he finds, too exhausted to notice it was already occupied by Jane. She wakes up finding a nearly naked large beautiful man in bed with her and grabs a pair of needle nose pliers for protection. And so begins this funny and unusual romance, that neither was looking for or has the time for. While Jane is wary at first, Cole and Finn become mates and he volunteers to be Finn's manny, so Jane can finish the restoration of the Carter home. But even knowing that she would go back to California and he to Australia, something happens between them that can't be ignored.

I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Thank you, Amy Andrews! Cole and Judy's story was well thought out and realistic. (Romance readers know what I mean.) A strong female lead and a man that appreciates that is always what I look for in a book. It was a pleasure to get to know these two and join them for a little while.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book from the blurb, but I actually really enjoyed it! I really like Cole, the H, and Jane, the h, too! And her son, Finn, was so cute! I was worried about how this book was going to play out with the ex, because so many of them end up taking the sam tack on exes, but this one did not! I won't say exactly what happened with him, but lets just say it was refreshing! This is a very good read. I give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5!

The book was slow to start, but it got better...much better! Amy Andrews has created another book that once the book took hold, it never let go! I learned a bit about finishing a house and about rugby. A grouchy, hurt rugby player, a single mom, and her adorable son...good read!

I loved this story about an injured rugby player and a single mom. Cole was in a terrible car accident that left him unable to continue his lucrative rugby career in Australia. He came to Credence to escape his reality back home. He did not realize that a feisty single mom would upend his life.

Jane was trying to build her home restoration business and landed a great job that will be in a national magazine. This will help booster her business. She is staying at the residence and has 4 weeks to complete the task. But of course her ex husband, who was supposed to have their child, Finn during this time, bailed again. Which is making Jane way behind in her work. Then one night a strange man ended up in her bed and Jane was never the same again.

The story of Cole, Jane, and Finn is heart warming. The slow burn in the beginning with Cole and Jane turned into some fierce heat. The interaction between Cole and Finn is crazy sweet. This is such a perfect feel-good romance that will warm your soul.

Playing with Trouble is the fourth book in author Amy Andrews’ Credence, Colorado series. This is the story of single mom and historic rehab specialist Jane Spencer, who is supposed to be spending four weeks in residence doing a restoration project for former pro football star Wade Carter and his pregnant wife, CC. At the end of the project there will be a major magazine spread showing the room in all its glory and this just could be what really puts her business on the map.

Interruptions create major setbacks in completing the job. First, her rather irresponsible ex appears at the doorstep with their four year old son, Finn, saying he has an unexpected Las Vegas gig and leaves the boy with Jane when it was his summer month to spend with Finn. Soon after a scantily clad man appears in her bed in the middle of the night, creating another major interruption.

Australian rugby star Cole Hauser was recently involved in a very serious auto accident that almost cost him his leg, and has cost him his rugby career. Having made a friend of Wade Carter during a summer workout with the Broncos, Wade has invited Cole to spend some time at his Credence home to rest and rehab that summer. When he arrives late at night, exhausted from the long journey and with a throbbing leg and hip, he finds his way to a bedroom and collapses only to be rudely awakened by a screaming woman. He sleepily makes his way to a different room to again collapse, and is awakened sometime later by a staring chameleon named Carl and a cute little boy.

In the first days for this unlikely set of roommates there is much tension. But when Cole volunteers to help with Finn to allow Jane to spend her days working on the restoration rather than entertaining her boy, there is a turn for the better. She agrees, with the stipulation there will be daily evaluations. These evaluations take on new meaning as they share a cold beer on a hot summer night that gives the story a very different direction.

This is an interesting read that takes a look at decisions and circumstances and how the main characters deal with both in their lives. It is an engaging story in which the characters show practical thought processes, but that is exactly what leads to the conclusion. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

I quite enjoyed this story, however it wasn't one of my favourites of this author, or particularly memorable. I liked the cross over and familiar characters between the Rugby and Credence series.

I received a free digital copy via NetGalley, but the opinions expressed are my own.

There are some authors who you know when you are lucky enough to get their books to read it’s going to be great. Playing with Trouble was definitely a book I was excited to read, and it did not disappoint. There’s something about Australian’s that just does it for me, and let me tell you Cole Hauser is one character I enjoyed very much! I loved the chemistry between Jane and Cole, and it melts your heart when a rough athletic rugby player falls for a little enthusiastic four year old that keeps an adult on his toes. Lots of funny moments in this story, loved the rugby clinic, and although it took a bit for these two to get together, when they do it’s pretty hot and well worth the wait! Loved the renovation of the room Jane worked on and the quality time Cole and Finn had together. Carl was hysterical! This is definitely a book I will have on my permanent bookshelf!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

Cole's a rugby player that's staying low in a friend's house in the States. Jane is a single mom to a 4-year-old doing a renovation job on said house.
An opposite attracts romance that was okay, it was well-written but it didn't have any spark. Cole and Finn (Jane's son) were more adorable together than the romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Playing with Trouble is a feel-good romance about an unexpected romance between a single mom and a newly retired Rugby player. Amy Andrews is an author I can always count on for a swoon-worthy read.

Jane and Cole are both looking to visit a Colorado house to relax and stop worrying about their futures. They think they will do that in peace and quiet. Turns out they are both staying at the same time. They are complete strangers and don't get along.

Jane is a single mom with the most adorable child, Finn. Cole was forced to retire after an injury and isn't in the best of moods so he just wants to keep to himself and stay out of their way for the next few weeks. Things start to change when Cole becomes Finn's manny.

Jane and Cole start to spend more time together and begin to open up to each other. Friendly late-night talks turn into something more romantic as they realize they have feelings for each other.

I give Playing with Trouble 4 stars. It's such a cute and romantic read that you will be able to read it in one sitting. IF you are looking for a feel-good romance, then I recommend this book!

Ex rugby star, Cole Hauser is hiding out in small town USA after suffering a career ending injury. For someone that only had the game his whole life, being sided lined so abruptly has left him in shock. His last ditch effort to at least stay on the peripherals of the game is a commentator job he's waiting on.

Finding out his hideout is already occupied by a sexy single mom and her adorable little boy isn't ideal, but Cole is willing to move past it while he waits for his future to be decided. It also doesn't hurt when Finn's hero worship sooths his bruised ego and his verbal spars with Jane bring on a whole different heat to the forefront.

Suddenly playing house in the small town, with a woman who brings out his best and a little boy that worms his way into his heart, Cole's dream job is looking more like a noose than an opportunity. But can what started off as a short term affair turn into the long hual, real deal?

This was such a cute read. I was going to describe it as a light romance read but it's not really light (as in fluffy and sweet) but in the sense that both MCs are confident, good hearted, decent people. It's light in the sense that there is not unnecessary drama or OTT angst.

Its a romance with heart, heat and the sweetest HEA epilogue I've read in a long time. Being a total sucker for sweet OTT romantic gestures and epilogues in romance, Amy Andrews took at all the stops and made me freaking melt during that proposal scene.

Kudos all around for giving us another great romantic read to take our minds off all the other not so light hearted or easy real life stuff happening right now.

I really enjoyed this crossover between two of Amy's series. It was fun and flirty and highly enjoyable. It can be read as a standalone. I recommend it for romance fans!

Revisiting the beautiful Credence Colorado and briefly reconnecting with some characters of old. I really enjoyed Playing With Trouble, the interaction with Cole and Jade is emotional, serious, and humorous. The story is well delivered and engaging throughout. I look forward to reading more by this author and would recommend this book

Another wonderful addition to this series! I seriously couldn’t love Amy Andrews anymore than I do! She writes such sexy, heartfelt, and realistic characters you can’t help but connecting with! This story has a sexy Aussie Rugby player & an American single mom. *love this* It also is a combo from 2 of Amy’s series! Cole has come to enjoy some time away from everything after he had a career ending injury. He thinks he will be alone but quickly finds Jane & her son Finn. Jane restores old houses & is on a deadline. She isn’t sure how to juggle her son and work as his father was supposed to have him. Cole ends up helping watch Finn while she works! Well these two are looking for love or lust but of course that’s what they get! Jane and Cole are also kinda slow to the lust/love train but I’m here for it! I love how these two are such a great match for one another. Cole was so amazing with Finn too! This story had me from page 1 and I loved every single one after! I loved it! I can’t wait for the next one!

I could not see the connection between Cole and Jane no matter how many times I revisited chapters. Their chemistry was absent which made the story a tough read. I have liked many books by Ms Andrews, however, not this time around.

I absolutely loved this book! It was a funny, steamy, smartly paced story with some wonderful characters – especially the precocious Fin. I loved watching how Jane and Cole’s relationship developed. And how Cole interacted with Finny made me swoon! There is a bit of a role reversal in that Cole takes on a child minding role, but that just made Cole more delicious. It was light on the angst which made it an easy read. I am eagerly waiting for Arlo’s story. I loved this story so much, I bought my own copy.

The slow burn that ignited them both when he thought his world had ended and finding the one person who would make him want more. A great story!

I loved every minute of "Playing with Trouble" by gifted author Amy Andrews with characters that jump right out of the book and into your heart and a smartly written story that checked all the boxes for me with laugh-out-loud humor, heart-warming romance and so much more. As soon as I started reading I knew I wasn't going to be able to put the book down until I read the last word. I fell in love with Australian rugby pro Cole Hauser who goes to Colorado to recover after a terrible injury and loved his dynamic with single mom Jane Spencer and her young son, Finn. If you enjoy panty-melting, swoon-worthy romance, don't miss this book!! I received an advance reader copy from the publisher via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy to read again.
