I received this book complimentary from NetGalley but all opinions are my own.
This lost a star for how short it was. It was really cute though! I’ll be keeping an eye out for future books by this author. I liked the characters and the quick-changing setting. I liked how the romance played out. This was a short and sweet one.

Unfortunately I can't say I really enjoyed this book. I found it quite rushed and the main characters quite boring. I was very disappointed with how the plot developed or lack of as the case may be. The author tried to rush the plot and cram as much as possible into a novella. I expected better from this author.

It was a cute fast read. Not something I'd necessarily remember for years to come and probably wouldn't think to recommend to my friends but I thought the story was cute.

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. This was a cute and fun Christmas book. I enjoyed the storyline for the most part and found the characters to be interesting. The author did a great job with descriptions and making you feel like you were there in the book.

First, I want to thank Josephine Templeton, GenZ Publishing and Xpresso Tours for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Joesphine Templeton had me cracking up laughing with the mixup of The Christmas Mistake!! That scene was just priceless! This book was such fun, sexy, shocking moments that you never imagined, that will get you in the holiday spirit.

This book is dedicated to Mike. Joesphine is so blessed with the life God has blessed upon them.

She is also thankful for Suni Nichols for being the first reader of this book.

Kudos to the graphic designer who created the front cover. It was so perfect to the storyline with the girl in front in the Santa outfit and holding presents.

There was a scene in the book that I totally didn’t expect to happen. I was totally shocked by it because it came so early in the book. It was a sex filled scene however I could not help stop laughing due to the circumstance of the situation. I wanted to smack this individual so bad!!!

I loved how this book goes from present day to 2005 where we learn more about how Carina (such a pretty and unique name) and Rad met. Plus, how that ties into the storyline today. It is a twist in the story that you didn’t see coming but will put a smile on your face and love in your heart.

This was such a cute and sweet Christmas read. I loved the way that Carina and Rad meet, and how their relationship develops. My only complaint was how long it took for them to get together, and how little of the couple we got to see, but overall, if you're looking for a short and sweet Christmas read this holiday season, I think this one will definitely do the trick.

Thank you NetGalley, Josephine Templeton and GenZ Publishing for the ARC of The Christmas Mistake.
This is my personal review.
I started reading this book and I found myself saying what is happening! It was a start to a story that I had such hope for being a love story that started in an odd way and it ended up being not what I was hoping for.
The story left me with a feeling of what wanting more of a love story than I got from this one.

Christmas Mistake started out with a bang but just left me wanting more.
More depth.
More backstory.
Something that actually sounded feasible and not confusing.
It wasn’t a favorite read by any means though it did keep me reading to the end.
The two main characters, Carina and Rad, are flawed in so many ways. How they manage to get through life is beyond me. The relationships they have before they finally realize what’s right in front of their faces.....just unreal and somewhat unrealistic.
So, yes, it’s a cheesy Christmas story. But, it was a ok read that just may put you in the Christmas mood.
Thank you to NetGallery for the arc of Christmas Mistake. Also thank you to the publisher and author for the opportunity to read and give my honest opinion.

I love a good Christmas book, and this one was just perfect! My first for the season and I wasn’t disappointed.
Carina is dressed in sexy Christmas wear inside a box and delivered to her fiancé’s hotel room in a large box. However; when Carina is unwrapped it’s not her fiancé; but Rad. Someone else..
turns out they both know each other; but you have to read on to find this out. They used to be best friends and pick up almost where they left off years before hand.
I loved this book. Sweet, romantic, cute and just plain chrismassy.
Read the book, buy it for a friend. It’s a fabulous light hearted book that puts you in a wonderful mood.

Can high school best friends reunite a friendship lost or maybe start something more? A cute quick love story is the perfect way to get you in the holiday spirit. Easy to read, this book took me less than a day to read and provided the escape I was looking for.

This is a Christmas themed friends to lovers story that is a quick easy read, which starts off by a mistaken meeting. Carina wants to surprise her fiancée by being delivered to his hotel room. Unfortunately she is delivered to Rad’s room instead. This prefaces an unwanted discovery by Carina about her fiancée and a reconnection of 2 friends.

The book is set in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans. It is enjoyable settings that the Author takes full advantage of as backdrops to the connecting of friends. One of the things the Author does well is discuss how difficult it is after natural disasters where loss occurred and the results, especially when you are adequately insured. It’s a heavy theme that is referred to throughout the story. It is almost a love letter to those places and probably the thing I most enjoyed about this story.

Essentially both characters have terrible taste in previous relationships. You name it, they have experienced it. Whilst this is supposed to be a light read, even if there was not delved into in and only touched on, they are actually not funny things to have happen to them. These include infidelity, domestic violence and mental abuse. The rest were things I don't personally judge another person for (bdsm/sissy bdsm, paganism and bisexuality), however as these were hidden from the partners and non consensual deal breakers, should have been discussed prior to the relationship.

The new improved Rad that we meet in the story is also a far better version of himself than the teenage version because he sounded pretty horrible towards the end of their teenage friendship. All in all though, it was an easy story to finish in one sitting and good for a quiet afternoon book to read.

Thank you to the Author, Publisher and Netgalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC and all opinions are unbiased and my own.

A quick love story! We get to know Carina and Rad who met in an odd situation. The initial part of the book is hilarious and from the blurb you can tell it will be fun. However, I didn't like the "best friends" part and how half part is lost in there.
Overall I think is a super quick love story for Christmas time!

I received a copy of The Christmas Mistake by Josephine Templeton from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, this novel missed the mark for me. I felt that the plot should have been interesting given the story's summary, but the plot wasn't evenly paced...and there wasn't much of a cohesive plot, to be honest. Instead it was a mess of different threads of would-be plot that didn't really work together.

Also, I wasn't keen on the main characters - found them to be very one dimensional and kind of boring, as well as not very likable.

Carina's boyfriend is obviously no good from the first mention of him, but she is planning to marry him anyway. He said he wants more spontaneity so she gets herself delivered in his hotel room in a box. Only it's the wrong hotel room and the wrong guy. When she knocks on the door of the right room it's another woman who opens the door and her fiance gets caught in a compromising position. So of course she does what any woman would do: jumps the other guy in the hotel corridor and impulsively licks his nipples in full view of several other people. It turns out he is not a stranger after all. They used to be friends as goth teens but they had a fiery row when he broke the phone that contained a photo that was important to her. They become friendly again while dating other unfortunate people (love potions are involved) but eventually there is a happy end.

I did not care for this one because the plot was a bit out there, it's like bits of plot from several books of different genres. The writing needs another round of editing. There are some clumsy sentences, some passages sound like a travelogue, and the third person narrative gets randomly and confusingly mixed with first person thoughts that are not marked with italics or anything.
