What an utterly practical and useful book for those who already know the basics about the Keto lifestyle and want to know what they can do to make being a Keto'er much simplier and easier!

The author lays out 200 tips and tricks, mostly one per page, on meal planning and prepping, grocery shopping and budgeting, eating out, drinking and socializing, curbing hunger, tracking and optimizing your macros, dealing with carb cravings, optimizing weight loss, turning keto into a lifestyle, and troubleshooting your diet and lifestyle habits.

I liked the unusual tips that the author found from studies, like tapping your head to distract you from carb craving. I'll have to try that one at the earliest opportunity!

The information in this book really reminds me of the questions that newbies to the Keto lifestyle usually ask in online groups. For example, one very common query is what to eat when you're out. You will find the answers here!

Actually I came to this book as someone who has been on a low-carb diet for a long time (not really Keto), and I still found a lot of the tips useful here, some new and some valuable reminders.

---Fantastic Keto Tips!!!---

I received an advanced review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley, and here are my thoughts.

Wow, this book is crammed pack of tips that will help someone not only keep motivated to stick to their keto diet, but also remind them that when the going gets tough...there is a solution.

From what foods to try, when and how to buy to save money, habits to cultivate, things to use that make keto easier and less time-consuming to prepare....this book has it.

If you've done keto for a while, you might not "need" this book per se, but I feel like the table of contents alone makes it worth buying because sometimes your memory needs jogging about what alternatives are available, and instead of getting lost in endless online information or having to plow through a keto guide, this book has the best of the best tips...right in the table of contents for you to access immediately.

So other keto books may have similar tips, but they are not as easy to find and put to use.

If you like to save time...this book will save you tons! And keep you inspired.

I was tremendously disappointed in this book. Far too many of the hacks, half or more, had little to do with keto and could apply to any type of diet or no diet at all. Perhaps this book would help folks just go out on their own, but otherwise, you probably know everything in it.

I consider myself relatively new to keto at just under 2 months into it, and I was surprised that there was only one hack in this book that I didn't know (having to do with the actual carb counts of various sugar alcohols). If you are brand new to keto or to basic shopping strategies like don't shop on an empty stomach and do meal planning, then this will likely be helpful. It's divided into sections like eating out, cocktails, shopping, etc. Most of it really seemed like common sense to me, but it may serve as a good reminder for things like eating something before going to a party or occasion where there's not likely to be much to eat. There are about three basic keto recipes that are simple like fathead dough, but the directions are a bit incomplete and the nutritional information isn't given for them, which is ironic in a book that frequently tells you that you may need to track every single carb. A lot of the hacks seemed repeated in a slightly different way in multiple sections, too. All the same, it's a quick read that may be quite helpful for keto newbies.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Thinking about starting a keto diet? Does it seem complicated? Maybe you aren’t sure where to begin? If your answer to any of those questions is yes, Keto Diet Hacks is the book for you!

The 200 hacks are organized into groups: Meal Planning, Grocery Shopping, Eating Out, etc. ending with a Troubleshooting section. You’ll learn what kitchen tools you need on hand and what staples and spices to stock in your pantry. The genius tip in the planning section is to shop and do meal preparation on the same day. That way, you skip having to put the groceries away!

You are probably already doing things like organizing your shopping list by section and bringing your own grocery bags to the store but most of these hacks will be new to you and are very useful. For example, make smoothies from salad greens that are close to their sell by date. And buy bone broth to use in soup because it is too much work to make your own! Keto Diet Hacks will show you ways to easily follow a keto diet in restaurants, what snacks to eat and how to handle cravings.

This is not a cookbook with recipes. This is an excellent guide to managing a keto diet and will appeal to keto regulars as well as those new to this diet style. 5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley, Adams Media and Lindsay Boyers for this ARC.

Real world advice, I've seen most of these hacks in blogs but having them organized in a book is super useful. You can try one a day or focus on one a week.

Keto Diet Hacks Dec 15

The first chapter deals with meal preparation, you can have the proper tools to make your keto meals and prepare your food in advance so that you have it on hand when you are hungry and in a time crunch. You are encouraged to shop and meal prep on the same day and stick to a meal plan or have ingredients that you can prepare in different ways for variety. If you portion out your meals daily in containers meals will be easily preheated and served - no thinking is required.
There is even a chapter on eating out which has some helpful suggestions - you pick out the restaurant and eat ala carte so you can pick out single items that are in your diet plan.
Prepare keto foods to come home to if you are still hungry or you went to a place where there were no keto-friendly foods on the menu. You could also put some snacks in your purse if you dare.
Keeping a hunger journal - write down the activity or emotions you feel when you get hungry and stop that activity or substitute something else will make you think about what you are doing to cause binging.
Spicing up your meals can help you to feel like you are rewarding yourself and adding extra flavors to your meal.
You can choose to eat more fiber to give yourself added nutrients, lose weight, and add probiotics and protein to your diet.
You are encouraged to drink tea, count your carbs, exercise and use distraction techniques to stay on your diet and lose weight.
Enjoy browsing through this book so you can be comfortable with and customize your keto diet for yourself.
Be aware that this book contains suggestions about yoga, meditation and other spiritual exercises that you may not be comfortable with.

Pre covid I was adhering to the keto lifestyle. But, well, life happens and I need to feel and eat better. Though most of these tips were not new to me they are such an apt reminder and inspiration. The 200 tips start with information such as stocking your pantry, meal planning, meal preparation, cleaning the kitchen, etc. There are a few recipes sprinkled throughout, too. I love the looks of the Spinach and Cheese Egg Cup recipe which is made in advance, a great idea as breakfasts can often be challenging especially if you have dietary restrictions.

There are sections on shopping, eating out, socializing, tracking macros, dealing with cravings and more. The tips take mental and physical wellbeing into consideration, too. One of the things that helped me most (and will again) is counting every single carb on paper. When I saw the carb and nutritional counts add up (a chunk of cheese or cracker here, a plum there) I was astonished.

This book would be ideal for beginners as well as those who know the information but are thirsting to learn the latest and need encouragement or a refresher.

My sincere thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this interesting and practical book in exchange for an honest review. Much appreciated.
