Theodore Cornelius Baffelus III is a frog with big dreams. After all, if one has such an important name shouldn't their happily ever after be just as grand? In Ellen DeLanges' charming take on a classic fairytale, Theo's Princess is sure to engage all your little readers who have big dreams. Fantastically illustrated and beautifully told, this is a wonderful example of taking a traditional idea and giving it an original spin.
A twist on the princess and the frog story, this time it's a frog looking for a princess. He as a result may not turn into a prince, but he does figure out what true love is. I loved the illustrations and the quirky little frogs.
This is such a cute take on the classic Grimm story! A frog who dreams of being a prince seeks out a princess to give kiss him. The artwork is adorable, too. A great little tale overall.
Theo's Princess was PRECIOUS! I loved every page of this story. It was really fun to see a twist on the Princess and the Frog with a frog wanting to find a princess to become a prince. It was really sweet and made me smile throughout the entire book. The art was stunning. The illustrations reminded me of old fairy tales which perfectly complimented the story. I fell in love with this book, and will honestly be buying a copy for myself when it's released. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
One of the best children's books I've read in a long time. Written in a beautiful, melodic language, beautifully illustrated. The story is extremely charming, it touches adults and the children will be delighted as well. The story of a frog prince looking for his princess and a change of his fate. And as it happens in fairy tales, his story is both funny and touching. Love it.
Following Theo on his journey to becoming a Prince was a fun and cute read. The pictures were also very cute and detailed. As a parent, this book has a good ending with a good message and a storyline that I could appreciate. Along the same lines, being the mother to twin four-year-old boys I know this is something they would enjoy as well which means everyone would win by reading this book.
This book was a great twist on a popular fairy tale. While reading it, I can picture children laughing as it is being read to them. This is definitely a book children will enjoy.
This was a very charming book about love. I read it with my son who also enjoy it lot. I would recommend it to every parent!
I loved this story and all the things that Theo, a frog does to find a princess to kiss him. He has heard that princesses kiss frogs to find their prince and he wants to find a princess.to turn him into a prince. Super cute and funny!
Such a charming little improvised tale about Theo, the frog .. who wants to find his princess - who would kiss him & turn him into a prince. This was a wonderful story to show children that not always, what we want, is actually .. what will make us happy.
A very lovely children's tale and definitely, recommended.
Somehow, I couldn't read the whole book due to the format of this book in Digital Editions. After a few times of trying, finally I was able to read with NetGalley Shelf App. I love the illustrations. Beautiful. It's cute and fun story.
The rt was very homey and folksy and pretty but old fashioned. Unfortunately the gender roles were too.
A sweet twist on a fairytale! The art was adorable and this is a really cute read!
*Thanks Netgalley for sending me this arc*
Theo is a frog who hopes to be turned into a prince with a kiss. This is a cute book that gets mildly creative with the princess and the frog storyline. The art is beautiful.
A great book with a great lesson, to be patient and be yourself. The illustrations are beautiful and any child would love this book.
A real success, this charming, jokey little piece for charming, jokey little readers has a frog desperate for a princess to turn him into a prince, in traditional fashion. Of course he's got the wrong end of the stick, and he needs a bit more self-acceptance, and of course he should stop trying too hard to find what will fall into his lap given time, but he's not to know all that, and his story is a good lark. Strong illustrations add to the appeal, and make this above the standard four star grade.
