unique and thought provoking read. I liked continuously reflecting on life throughout, very nostalgic in a poetic way. Gotta love magical realism!

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is an uplifting and thought-provoking novel that explores the many lives one could live and the choices that shape us. With reflective themes, emotional depth, and a hopeful message, it’s perfect for readers who enjoy introspection and stories about second chances. This was really useful for my bookclub

This was a helpful book club kit! Good questions to talk about after reading.

Thank you NetGalley and Matt Haig!

This book club kit is shorter than the previous ones I’ve seen, but the discussion questions were still really great to drive and explore the book with other readers! The interview gives a lot of insight into this fantastic book!

Reading this book club kit four years after publishing showed me just how much the team has enhanced these kits since then! I enjoyed the design of this kit as they matched the color scheme of The Midnight Library. I also liked the discussion questions provided for book clubs to use. I definitely recommend this kit to anyone looking to read an interview from the author and more ways to think about the story.

Did Not Finish--I thought this was the book! I'm looking forward to the book, which I've heard great things about.

This is one of my favourite books! Matt Haig has such a talent for storytelling full of emotion, intrigue, and a wonder that pulls the reader in.

What if you had a chance for a “do over”… an opportunity to “fix” your regrets and rewrite history?

Nora has found herself at a crossroads, she is unhappy and feels like she has let everyone in her life down… she’s a complete failure!

Then, she’s given an opportunity she can’t refuse… venture into the midnight library… are regrets in the eye of the beholder??

I had initially thought I’d be reading the book written by Matt Haig but this was more of a question and answer session written out. There were some interesting things I learned reading this. It’s highly organised written from Matt’s perspective exploring various themes in the book revolving around emotional growth and choice. The discussion helps one to gain further insight about the symbolisms in the book. It’s definitely a great place to start if this is a book that is being studied part of English literature.

I wanted so desperately for Nora to find where she belonged In life. All the things she regretted not doing or not taking a chance. It’s so very relatable and interesting to see what you’d do if you were in the midnight library. The book made me think and reflect. That’s all I could ask for in a good book. Great read!

The Midnight Library is one of those books that makes you pause and think about all the “what-ifs” in your own life. It follows Nora Seed, who gets the chance to explore infinite versions of her life in a magical library that exists between life and death. Each book she opens is a path she could have taken.

What I loved: It’s an easy, quick read with a surprisingly deep message about regret, self-acceptance, and finding meaning in the life you already have. I found myself underlining quotes and re-reading certain lines because they hit just right.

What didn’t totally land for me: Some parts felt a little repetitive, and I wanted a bit more nuance in how depression and mental health were handled. But even with that, it still sparked a lot of reflection for me.

Overall, I’d recommend it if you enjoy heartfelt, slightly philosophical stories that make you think about your own choices. It’s the kind of book you could finish in a weekend and still be mulling over days later.

I did not realize at first that this kit didn’t include the book, so I mistakenly have this a low rating originally. I have since changed my rating since it is great if you are leading a book club that is reading this book. 5/5.

Review:

In this captivating literary work, the author masterfully weaves together a tapestry of emotion, insight, and imagination. From the very first page, readers are drawn into a world that is both familiar and extraordinary, inviting them to explore new perspectives and experiences.

The characters are richly developed, each with their own unique struggles and triumphs. Their journeys resonate on a deep level, allowing readers to reflect on their own lives while rooting for their successes. The dialogue is sharp and realistic, enhancing the authenticity of the narrative.

The pacing of the story strikes a commendable balance. It flows smoothly, with moments of tension and introspection that keep the reader engaged. The author’s use of language is both poetic and precise, creating vivid imagery that lingers long after the final page.

Themes of love, loss, and resilience are intricately woven throughout, prompting contemplation and discussion. The narrative challenges societal norms and encourages readers to think critically about the world around them.

While the book has its minor flaws—perhaps moments of predictability or slower sections—these do not detract significantly from the overall impact. The emotional depth and thought-provoking content more than compensate for any shortcomings.

Overall, this book is a testament to the power of storytelling. It invites readers to embark on a journey of discovery, leaving them enriched and inspired. Whether you're a lifelong bibliophile or a casual reader, this work promises to resonate and linger in your thoughts. Highly recommended!

This book club kit is a great addition to The Midnight Library. The discussion questions are thoughtful and easy to dive into. It really gets you thinking about the book’s bigger themes like regrets and second chances. I loved the conversation with Matt Haig at the end. Reading about his inspiration for the story and his own personal experience with mental health issues, depression and anxiety make the whole experience feel more meaningful. Perfect for sparking a great group discussion!

The layout of this kit was fun and felt more exciting then those that are found in the back of most "book club picks". This conversation with the author made me feel connected to the content in a unique way.
