This is a great kit to have for book club discussions and to have while reading this book. Thank you to NetGalley, publisher, and author for a gifted copy. This is my honest review.

This was a great book with so much happening in the pages. This book club kit really takes the guesswork out of preparing for a book club discussion. It is thorough and well organized and contains all the necessary elements for a great discussion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Literary Resources for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
This is a little book designed to accompany the reading of the novel “Mexican Gothic”. It makes an excellent resource for book clubs and study groups. There are suggested questions, a Spotify playlist to accompany your reading, many author explanations of setting choice etc, and a little oddly- a cut out and dress paper doll. I used to love doing these as a child so maybe they are trying to create some nostalgia, but I don’t know many adults that would actually cut out and dress the paper doll.
I have not read the book yet, but I intend to very soon and I will certainly use this little book to enhance my reading experience. Well worth trying if you want an immersive reading experience.

Thank you for the book club kit! I appreciate the questions provided and look forward to reading this book.

I have yet to read the book, but it is on my to-read list. This kit is a nice collection of questions that provide more thought to the characters, setting, history, and music! Having a playlist to accompany the book was unexpected and quite interesting, an addition on the author's part to pull the reader into the story. The cutouts are delightful, and once I read the book, I'm sure it'll all make more sense.

NOTE: THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE BOOK CLUB QUESTIONS ETC, NOT OF THE ACTUAL NOVEL
A nice little collection of 9 questions, all suitable as starting points for discussion of the novel in a book group setting. Also includes a playlist of various music provided as a "soundtrack" to the novel, provided by the author and accessible via Spotify. There are various author notes and activities, including (inexplicably) a paper doll of the main character, Noemi Taboada, with several different paper cut-out outfits to fit onto it.
A nice little addition for those who are reading the book with a group for discussion.

I loved the book and I actually really enjoyed the materials in this book club kit! The paper dolls made me incredibly happy and I am already figureing out how to incorporate this into a lesson.

What a delightful little bit of kit!
There were some interesting questions included but what I really enjoyed were the little pieces of backstory by the author, explaining the history of the setting and such.
Also the cut out doll and clothes were very cute! I used to love those as a kid and the outfits chosen were beautiful and well designed.
All in all a lovely addition for any book club reading Mexican Gothic!

I have not read Mexican Gothic book just yet but this companion book club kit will great to read along and dig deeper. I will be getting my friends together to read this book and follow along with this kit.

It such a cute info pack, and I adored the cut out outfits for the character!
Great for a book club with questions and discussion points within a group. Honestly would like to get a group together to try it out.

This is a book club kit, not the book, but it is a great resource for book clubs discussing the book. Not only are there useful questions for discussion, but there is background information about the story location and a great deal of information from the author about the story. I highly recommend this to any book club discussing this book.

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley. This is my personal opinion and others may disagree with me.
I liked some of the questions given but some really disappointed me.

Supplemental material for book club. Need the book to use. Great explanation of materials and the origin of the book title. Items in this supplement would be for younger readers. Make sure you have the book to go with this for book club activities.

This book is perfect for all the people who read and love the book! WARNING THIS IS NOT THE BOOK!
It´s only a very short Book Club Kit! With questions and other things about the inspiration of some cities in Mexico.
I really think if you don't read this book o really didn't like it at all, it's not neccesary.
It's only... nice?

The Mexican Gothic Book Club Kit is nice addition for any group wanting to read Mexican Gothic together. There's an intro from Silvia Moreno-Garcia. She also includes a Spotify playlist to get you in the mood of the world of High Place. The book club questions seem to be straightforward and should certainly help steer discussion between glasses of wine. There's also commentary on Gothic Romance/Domestic Noir that is added if you want a deep dive discussion. There are paper doll cutouts - not sure about those but maybe the more fashion-interested would like those.
A nice supplement to the novel.

This was a useful kit for the book club, thanks for supplying it. I particularly enjoyed the author's letter, it was really insightful and interesting to read.

I enjoyed what this offered as an extra for book clubs that choose to read the book. I especially love the song suggestion. Anytime you add the musical vibe of a chapter makes it that much more interesting.

Great for all book clubs. Be fabulous in the library for all our online book club discussions. Would be great to share amoung readers.

The discussion topics and questions were poignant and well-thought-out.
I don't doubt that this book club kit could be a valuable resource to promote in-depth discussion of the novel, its place in the larger literary world of similar or related books, and the impact it had on the readers.

Very interesting and informative interview with author about history and background of the book. I enjoyed the paper doll type illustrations on some of the outfits the main character wore in important scenes from the story.
