I loved Becoming, and love these thought-provoking discussion questions about the book. These will be great for a book club, or when I want to reread and think more deeply about her story. I really love the quote tiles, and the interview at the end, as well!

I've never actually read a book club kit before. I have to admit, seeing them pop up repeatedly throughout NetGalley in recent days has had me intrigued. In a way, I think I kind of expected there to be more to it, but I'm not surprised by what the kit actually ended up being. This is the sort of thing you kind of expect to find at the very back of a book per author discretion. It's more or less the question guide to use in discussions.

Truth be told, I don't know why publishers use this as a sort of "bonus" to buying a specific book. Oftentimes, something like this is listed as the "bonus material" referenced on the front cover of a recently re-published novel. Often it includes discussion questions and an interview, much like this particular kit does. I'll be honest, I've never really cared for this bonus material in the back of a book. I think, in a way, I like it better as something separate. After all, not everyone cares or is going to use the "bonus material."

I, myself, have only been to two book club meetings and I learned very quickly that it just wasn't for me. That said, I think the discussion questions for this book are a lot more important than most. With such incredibly important topics broached on throughout the course of the book, of course those topics would lend themselves to some seriously impressive discussion points.

I have a feeling this is going in the back of the paperback reprinting of Michelle Obama's Becoming. It doesn't really entice me toward wanting to purchase an extra copy just to have this supposed bonus material, though. But, if I were to ever start a book club, I am certain that this would be an utterly brilliant book to start with.

I thought this was going to be the actual book. Yes, I know it says that it isn't in the description, but apparently I can't read. Still a nice set of questions though, one that I plan on using and consulting once I actually read the book.

This guide will be awesome to have for a book club discussion! In addition to a reader's guide, and a section of further discussion topics and questions, it has a conversation with Michelle Obama! This will be great to have if my book club decides to read Becoming in the future!

I reviewed the Book Club Kit for Becoming. This kit includes two sets of discussion questions, some quotes from the book, and an interview with Michelle Obama. The questions were quite complex and would make for thought-provoking book club discussions. I enjoyed reading the quotes! The interview was a bit short but also had some interesting insights.

I would definitely recommend using this book club kit for a book club discussion.

I have not read Becoming yet by Michelle Obama. It is on my to be read pile and I'm looking forward to diving into soon.

This book club kit is the perfect companion to the book. It asks thought provoking questions that let you take a deeper dive into the book.

I think this will definitely enhance the reader's experience with reading Becoming!

I really enjoyed the page of quote cards (who doesn't love a good quote card?), and the Q&A with the author

I'm so grateful to Michelle Obama, Penguin Random House Library Resources, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

This book club kit was very useful for our little online book club. A great way for us to find questions to use to talk about the book.

Pros: Becoming by Michelle Obama has been one of my very favorite memoirs. When I read it, I wished I were reading it with a book club because there was so much to discuss. When I saw this book club kit on NetGalley, I was interested to see the suggested discussion questions. Although I'm not reading this book with a group at the moment, the discussion questions were great for my own reflection. I think some readers shy away from this book because they think it will be political. I think the book club kit does a great job of posing questions that include readers of all political persuasions, if they will give the book and book club kit a chance.

Cons: None really. I'm not sure what readers might expect from such a guide, so it's possible this might not meet their expectations. Also, I'm curious about the Q&A--specifically when the questions were asked, who conducted the interview, and for what purpose it was conducted (this book club kit specifically or something else).

This 7-page Book Club Kit is dense with content, low on frills. It's labeled as a "Reading Guide," and contains:

- 15 questions, like "Why do you think Michelle Obama chose to name her novel Becoming?"
- A page of pull-quotes from the book.
- 15 ADDITIONAL questions for further conversation.
- 5 Q&A questions with Mrs. Obama.

All-in-all, this is a BCK that feels appropriate for a memoir by a former FLOTUS.

This paperback is a companion kit for Becoming, the memoir by the former First Lady of the United States. Included in this edition is a letter by Michelle Obama to her younger self and a five question Q&A which makes for additional interesting insights. There is also a helpful Book Club list of twenty questions prompting reflection for readers or group discussion. A useful aid for book clubs and so a four-star rating. With thanks to NetGalley and the author for a preview copy for review purposes.

Fantastic discussion guide to go with a fantastic book! It's lovely to have such well-thought-out questions to use to further dive into what I've read, whether with a group or individually.

Incredibly useful book club kit. It contains questions, quotes that can be used for discussion, and an interview with Michelle Obama that I feel will add to the overall bookclub meeting. As someone who participates in two book clubs (one of which I help facilitate) I look forward to using this with them when we read "Becoming".

This Penguin Random House Book Club Kit is such a great idea. It's short and concise, spicing up your book club meeting without making a literal plan or taking up your entire time as a group.

This kit consists of:
- a list of inventive, poignant questions; I love how thought provoking and open they are, welcoming many different points of view in your group
- graphically pleasing quotes from the author
- an interview with the author.

I loved the personal touches from Michelle Obama, making our group connect with her even more in this way. But I do wish there was something more, something creative, for example a self-help exercise or game, a DIY, recipes, playlist, etc.

Once lockdown is over this will be a great way to kickoff your book club!
Questions that’ll get you and your group thinking and sharing about the everyday life, and how these too are stories too precious not to share.
