Back when I was a high school English teacher, this is exactly the kind of book I would have recommended to my typical readers. WHY?! Because it's just fun. Every book doesn't have to be Shakespeare (I actually had a poster of that on my classroom wall). Books can be just a fun, quick, gripping story that readers can identify with on some level. Sure, my students weren't dating the son of the President of the United States... but they've been cheated on before by their best friends!

This is a sequel, and the author did a really good job of helping readers who hadn't read book one, without sacrificing entire chapters to catching us up on the back story.

Note: in this political climate (and even when the book came out, as the Obama daughters were residing in the White House), it's interesting to imagine how the children of major political powerplayers are holding up. It's a coincidence that the current administration lost a major employee last night, ostensibly to spend more time with her very troubled fifteen-year-old daughter... hmmm...
