A fabulous, feminist, and informative book about some of the most important women in Canada's recent history. They broke barriers and became powerful women in power in their own right and each one has a story to tell. I can only hope this becomes outdated as more women join their ranks.

Govern Like a Girl is an important book to include in the study of Canadian history. In many American classrooms, the study of Mexico and Canada are included in the 6th-grade curriculum. The inclusion of this book would be a welcome addition to that curriculum as there can be comparisons made to the US government style and the Canadian. The biographies are short, making the text readable. It was interesting to note that the women featured in the book are for the most part from the Territories or the Coastal Provinces. Highlighting that with students could bring about more discussion as to why that might be.

Loved this book!! So many of the women I didn’t know but quite a few I did. It was so interesting learning about how they came to be political leaders and what their background story was. With many more women in politics now I look forward to a Vol 2 ;)
