Revolutionary Leadership is an adequate look at the American Revolution and its leaders. Pat Williams does a good job of making it clear why the leaders talked about are important and what they contribute, which makes for a clear, concise read. If you're someone who hasn't read a lot about the American Revolution, then this book is a good intro for people looking to scratch the surface. If you've read a lot, however, I didn't find anything that necessarily set this book apart from others that are similar to it. It's good and does what it needs to, but there are also a lot of books about this topic out there, and this is another of them. I recommend it to people who are looking to learn about the A.R. and don't know as much about it!

The figures of the American Revolution, even those who are household names, are often couched by their particular exploits. Within the American mindset they are considered generals, war heroes, or philosophers - titles which they rightfully deserve. However, it is easy to forget that the figures of the revolutionary period were foremost leaders throughout their society. In Revolutionary Leadership we gain a glimpse into the leadership qualities which drove success in such a pivotal moment in American history. Gone are the cliches of self-help leadership books and in their place are the true, historical narratives of the men and women who led America in its birth. If there are any lessons that we should carry forward into the trying times of modern America, surely it’s those of the leaders who formed it.
