Thanks for the chance to read this book early. I was drawn in by the cover and the blurb. Unfortunately it wasn’t a win for me. I can’t honestly give it a good review because I DNF. Sorry

Four women. One Night. Live forever changed.

Jess, Liz and Chloe let loose on the town and come home to face the consequences of their actions. The fallout is that perfect moment in time for them to take charge of how they’ve been living and to welcome where this journey will take them.

The book alternates between the main characters point-of-views highlighting each step of their coming of age story. Beck does as excellent job of having each character describe their fears and how they battle to overcome to be the best version of themselves.

The author also explores the choices women make when it comes to career, family and life wants. The solutions presented for work life balance worked for the story. The novel is filled with many thought provoking questions for today’s women.

Thank you @writerjamiebeck @amazonpublishing @letstalkbookspromo for the complimentary copy of the novel.

This book captured my attention right out of the gate! I loved how the story was told in alternate points of view by Jess, Liz and Chloe. It flowed perfectly and I could hardly wait to see how the mistakes each woman made in the opening chapter unfolded throughout the story. I enjoyed following these three women as they explored paths they never wanted to be on. This book was ultimately about sisterhood and self discovery and I personally liked where each woman ended up. This book was an absolute delight and I definitely recommend it.

This will not come as a surprise to anyone who has ever ready anything by this author, but I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! It’s about best friends who happen to be grown women (in their 30’s) and love & support each other and most importantly always have each others backs. Each of the women are at their own crossroads and in need of figuring out how to move forward in a healthy positive manner.
They are portrayed as real human beings who are flawed, stumble along the way and even when they want to give up and hide don’t. There is no instant fix, but realistic paths that they take all while continuing to grow individually, as friends, parents, partners and friends. It brought out so many emotions. I look forward to what comes next. This was one of the best books I’ve read in quite some time. So filled with hope and love and just what is needed anytime, but particularly when we've all been so separated during the pandemic.

This book really disproves that old adage "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". That's because one night and a pact in Vegas alters the lives of three women forever. It tests their relationships with each other and their love ones as it impacts their lives in unforseen ways. Each of the women get a second chance to reexamine their lives and make choices that changes their direction. Though these women may be in different places of privilege than myself making their choices less risky (and making them harder to relate to) I still really enjoyed reading about women taking control of their fates and steering their own life course.

Thank you Jamie Beck and @letstalkbookspromo for an advance copy of this book to review.

I am totally the safe one in all aspects of my life. So it was so fun to read The Happy Accidents about 3 women who have an impulsive night out on the town and they all have to face the fallout of their impetuous acts. Each woman is in a different place in her life and each one caused her own unique problems that change the course of her life. This book was an exploration of the choices that women have to make with respect to their families, their careers, their hopes and aspirations. What was so poignant was that these women took their mistakes and used them to make changes to their lives for the better. It was so inspiring to see them overcome their fears and tackle their problems. Their growth was inspiring and I loved seeing how they all realized that they needed to find their own happiness.

THE HAPPY ACCIDENTS by Jamie Beck is a Women’s fiction story that has three women in their thirties at a crossroad in each of their lives due to the consequences of an impulsive night on the town.

Successful artist Jessie Clarke has a pact with her younger sister, Liz, the co-host of a successful morning show and her childhood best friend, Chloe, the stay-at-home mom of two in which the three will say “Yes” to any adventure that comes their way.

Jessie is mourning her divorce and reminds her sister and friend of their pact. They go to a casino to celebrate Jessie’s upcoming birthday and twelve hours later wake to the consequences of their behavior. Jess makes a life changing bid to unblock her artistic creativity. A viral video throws Liz’s career and reputation into question. Chloe has a major loss at the craps table.

Now each woman finds their lives and friendships tested. As each struggle with the changes from their pact, they try not to let fear decide their future fates which could lead to their greatest fulfillment yet in their lives.

I enjoyed each of these women’s journeys and I found each of the women to be believably and realistically portrayed. Sometimes when reading a Women’s fiction story, it feels like I am reading a soap opera, but Ms. Beck’s characters make me feel like I am following real people that I could meet anywhere and empathize with. This plot is full of thought-provoking questions, but the story itself is optimistic. Change can be terrifying and most of us prefer to just keep to the status quo, but this story makes you want to fight that fear and find something amazing, fulfilling, and new with a change, forced upon us or not.

I recommend this optimistic Women’s fiction story!

The Happy Accidents is a story about dealing with the consequences of choices made and learning to trust where those decisions will lead. Although frustrating at times, Jessie's, Liz's and Chloe's stories were well-written and I enjoyed their journeys of self-discovery. Michael was my favorite character in the book, and I would love to have read more about his romance with Liz.

I liked how this book was about three women, two of them were sisters. It spoke of their strong bond of friendship and how they contemplated their lives as they were getting closer to turning forty. It was so interesting to look at their interactions, their contemplations, their past, and their future. All three of them seemed to be at a crossroads in life where uncertainties were making them question their lives and their jobs and what their future held. It was a very interesting and enthralling story.

I liked that the book really spoke to me and touched me emotionally and pulled me immediately into the story. I laughed, smiled, and cried for some of the characters, especially Jessie in the decisions she made. I really felt her happiness and pain. It was fascinating how Jessie's getaway weekend resulted in unforeseen consequences for Jessie, her sister, Liz and their friend, Chloe. It was intriguing to see how everything turned out for each of them. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

During a trip to a casino for a birthday celebration, Jess, Liz, and Chloe make a pact to say yes to adventure. As drunken mistakes are made, each must face the consequences that will have an impact on their entire lives.

This is a character driven story told from the perspectives of each woman as they attempt to determine what they really want from their lives.

Ultimately, this is a story about friendship and supporting the ones you love when life doesn’t go as planned.

One evening of impulsiveness will change the lives of three women. Two sisters, Jess and Liz along with best friend, Chloe are at a casino for the night and make a pact that they will take on an adventure of what ever comes up. The next morning when they wake up they now have to face these consequences that will change their lives forever.

This story will take you on a roller coaster of emotions from these three woman, with highs and lows of changes that are coming their way. It shows you the value of friendship and sisterhood that is so important in life. Loved Aunt Leah, a minor character, shares such words of wisdom. I think we all need an Aunt Leah in our life, always there for comfort. I highly recommend this book.

When Jessie, Chloe, and Liz, went to a casino to celebrate Jessie's birthday, they wake up to what happens at the casino doesn't stay at the casino. They each did things that wasn't like them and because of it, they have to face the reality of it. As I read the book, friends of each woman thought they were going through a midlife crisis. But to me, I asked, is this how they are finding who they really are.
The title, The Happy Accidents, made sense to me after reading the book. This is about making mistakes, facing them, and moving on, and seeing where you end up. Sometimes, a big mistake is the best thing that could ever happen to you.
We all make mistakes, and many people have a hard time getting past it. This book is encouragement, that there is life after a mistake. No, it isn't easy but, it is so worth it to face it, pick yourself up, and learn from it. These three women, they faced it and then figured out why they did it, then they started to see things that had been in their lives their whole life, differently.
I received an ARC from Montlake through NetGalley.

The Happy Accidents by Jamie Beck is an engaging story with stellar characters and a more than interesting plot.

I was delighted with the manner in which the author intertwined the lives of the women in the story. Each valued the opinion/advice of the other, yet each made their own decisions which ultimately was in their own best interest.

The growth of the main characters from successful women into more passionate, determined, tenacious ladies was exciting and inspirational to read! Each, after experiencing their own individual, yet interwoven happy accident, embark on life altering journeys during which they lean upon each other for support as well as a little hand holding in order to achieve their ultimate prize; being true to themselves while becoming resilient women with different, yet happier, more engaging lives and brighter more satisfying futures.

Of special interest to readers will be the bombshell the author drops around 75% into the book...jaw dropping! I never saw it coming and other readers may not either. Jamie Beck is so good at giving readers an unexpected surprise in her books, and THE HAPPY ACCIDENTS is no exception. BRAVO, Ms Beck! BRAVO!

I really really enjoyed this book. What a fun reading adventure. This book was about three women facing consequences and overcoming their fears. It was well thought out, and as always, very well written with lots of great conflict and solid character arcs. Jamie Beck is my go to for great women's fiction books. I can't wait to read what she writes next. Huge thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

Three woman must experience the fallout from the decisions they each make one night. I thought the beginning was a bit slow but then the story picked up. All three characters were relatable and I enjoyed getting to know them.

A story of three women who's night of fun and a birthday pact turned all their lives upside down. Grappling with indecision, fear and doubt they struggle to figure out these new directions their lives are taking and how to accept that they have a right to brave and bold and make their dreams a reality. A fantastic story told in three different points of views and I fell in love with their stories and invested in the outcomes.

When three friends make a pact at a birthday weekend, they all have to face the unexpected consequences. Will they let those consequences make them, or break them, is what they have to figure out.
.
I really enjoyed this book! What I liked:
-I loved how different each woman was; Jess was free-spirited, Liz was so structured, and Chloe was a full-time mom. Even though they were so different I found myself so invested in each woman and how she fought her challenges head on!
-I loved the message that I kept picking out from this book. There was lots of open communication, between marriage mates, parents with grown children, and between friends. Also, that people don’t have to be afraid of change and we all grow over time so it’s ok if you feel you need to shake things up and try things a different way.
.
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved Jess, Chloe and Liz’s stories very much and wish there was another epilogue.

Mourning her recent divorce Jess Clarke decides to celebrate her birthday at a casino with her best friend, Chloe, and sister, Liz. While there, she asks the other two women to make a pact to say yes to adventure that night. When they awake the next morning, each woman finds her life turned upside down from decisions the night before. Over the next few months, each of the women must come to terms with the consequences of their decisions and new and unexpected ways their lives change.

Told in alternating first-person perspectives, The Happy Accidents follows Jess, Chloe, and Liz as they each attempt to put their lives back together and make the best choices for their future. The story focuses on the choices women make and how it impacts their relationships and overall happiness.

Liz’s career is in shambles when she is drunkenly caught on camera trashing her cohost on the show, The Morning Dish. When the show fires her she is forced to look critically at her career and her life overall and figure out her next steps. I liked Liz, but she also annoyed me. I found her a bit cold, especially when it came to her sister.

In contrast, Jess, Liz’s sister was my favorite character. I enjoyed her perspective and storyline the most. Her journey towards finding happiness after her divorce intrigued me. I also loved her warm personality and genuine quest to live life to the fullest.

My least favorite storyline was Chloe. I liked Chloe as a character, but her situation frustrated me. After losing $5000 at the casino, Liz’s husband punishes her by canceling their anniversary trip. Determined to find a financial solution, as well as a sense of purpose in her life, Chloe decides to train as a doula. Her husband is less than receptive even though she only plans to work part-time. Every exchange between Chloe and her husband made me so angry. I liked Chloe as a character, and I love how she approached the changes in her life, but I hated her sections.

I liked how The Happy Accidents framed the stories around choices each of the women made and how they deeply impacted their lives going forward. Overall, I liked the story. It had such a positive message and had a lot to say about empathy and self-discovery. I recommend The Happy Accidents to fans of women’s fiction.

Thank you to BookSparks, Montlake, and Jamie Beck for the review copy! All opinions are my own.
