A small town romance with a cute kids and a adorable puppy.
I did not realize there was a previous book but, I think this was fine to read as a standalone.
Main character is Cheyenne who owns a bakery in NYC. Her grandfather dies and leaves her the family farmhouse. But, it comes with the stipulation she has to live there for a few years before deciding if she wants to sell it.
The story revolves around family dynamics, dealing with grief and second chances.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

My first time reading this author, but not the last. I loved this wonderfully written story about starting over. We jump right into the story as we are gathering for Cheyenne’s Grandfathers funeral at his home. She has traveled from New York and is surprised when the homestead is left to her. She has decisions to make as Cheyenne has a successful bakery back home.

Jesse is her grandfather’s handyman and a widower with 2 children. He understands starting over. The attraction leads to a journey to accept past hurts as part of the grieving process so that they can move forward. Will Cheyenne and Jesse get a second chance at love? Can Cheyenne make a life in a small town, or does she need the excitement of the city? She has always been the favorite Aunt. Can she add the title of Mom?

Thank you to NetGalley and GenZ Publishing for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review

This book immerses you immediately into the family dynamics of Cheyenne's family as they deal with the death of her grandfather. Chey was her grandfather's favorite and he leaves her the beloved family farmhouse. Because this is the second in this series, I felt a little lost with all the characters that kept appearing. This is a book that deals with death and grieving and second chances at love.

When Cheyenne’s grandfather dies, the whole family gathers at his homestead to pay their respects. Cheyenne wonders what will happen to the home now that he’s gone. Then at the reading of the will, she has the shock of her life - the home has been left to her. Now she has to uproot her life in New York, where she has a thriving bakery, and move back to Penn Ridge. Her grief over losing her grandfather is overwhelming enough, without the changes she will encounter.

Starting her life over wasn’t what Cheyenne expected to be doing, but starting over, a new bakery, life back where she spent all her summers, maybe won’t be such a bad thing. Especially when she gets to spend time around the handsome handyman who’s been taking care of the property.

This book was a fun, light read. I have not read the first book in the series, but there was not really any “catching up” to do. It read as a standalone, which I always appreciate. While there is definitely romance in the novel, it is more about Cheyenne finding her independence and her comfort zone with things she never thought she would. Although the story does get told from both Jesse’s and Cheyenne’s points of view, the focus is on Cheyenne.

Fun read. Easy and quick. Definitely would recommend and will probably read the rest of the series as it’s released.

A light yet enjoyable read for anyone who wants to detach for a bit and set foot into another world unlike their own. K.T. Egan sets a scene you feel you know intimately.

This is the 2nd book in the Anderson Creek series - I haven't read the first one and didn't have any problems following this book. They seem to be written as stand alone books.

Cheyenne is a big city baker who inherits the family home when her grandpa passes. As she uproots herself to move back there, she finds herself reflecting in the past and grieving her loss. Jesse is a builder/handyman that her grandpa left to finish projects on the house and garden upkeep. A small town romance, a new puppy, and a couple of kids all make changes in Cheyenne's life.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary digital ARC in return for my review.

This book was an adorable read. Chey is a successful baker whose grandfather has died and left her his home, and the widowed father handyman, catches her eye. Together they navigate grief, family, and the exploration of new love. This was a relatively quick and fun read. Nothing too hard hitting or emotionally devastating, just an overall adorable quick read.

This book was cute! The main character is a successful baker whose grandfather has died and left her his house, and the love interest is her handyman, a widower with two children. Together they navigate grief, fresh and old, family, and love. There is also the main character’s best friends who are planning their own wedding but taking the time to give advice and comfort when Cheyenne needed it. This was a relatively quick and fun read. Not too deep or emotional but sweet nonetheless.

When her grandfather passes away, Cheyenne inherits his house, so leave the city and plans to open a bakery in the small town.
Jesse was looking after the house for her grandfather, and continues to do so. He is a widower and a single father. Cheyenne is the first woman he has been attracted to since he lost his wife - will he take a chance with her or let his own fears get in his way?

I hadn't read the first book in the series, so did feel I was missing some of the back story.
