Oakley is a drag racer just like her Father. Neon is the head teach guy of the MC Defiance. He meets her at a race and falls instantly in love. Little does he know how dangerous she really is.

Having escaped a dangerous situation in the Motorcycle club the Heathens, Oakley is constantly on alert. When she finds out that the evidence she has hidden on them and Rage, her former boyfriend, has been discovered, her life is in danger. Neon offers protection with Defiance, despite not asking ahead of time.

This is the first "motorcycle club" book that I have read. I was mildly curious, as I have heard this trope discussed frequently. I am still a little confused what the purpose of motorcycle clubs are. Do they just ride around? How is money made as they seem to have a lot of it? Do they all live in the same place?

While I did not find Oakley to be a compelling character, I enjoyed this book. Neon was smart, intuitive and aware. She made poor choices, did not seem to have any foresight to see what situation she was in, and I found her to not be a likeable character. Oakley seemed to have no qualms about putting people in danger or keeping herself safe above everyone else.

This is 4th in a series and I recommend reading the first three if you want to know the backstories of the other characters.
