Another Witch Bites the Dust is the 4th book in the Holiday Hills Witch series by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson. I have not read the previous book and was able to read this one as a standalone cozy mystery.

This was a fun witchy cozy mystery. The characters were interesting and I definitely enjoyed the murder mystery. I didn't find it to be as fast paced as most cozy mysteries and it didn't hold my attention like I expected. That's not a bad thing, it just took me a week to read, while normally I read a cozy in a day.

I think I'll be revisiting this series because it does have a fun feel with a witchy town with other paranormal, like shifters.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Being bad witch can be complicated. They have powers with limitations. The witchy world isn’t perfect.

I enjoyed this book. I like reading about witches & their magical powers. The book was well planned. Very enjoyable characters.

Thanks to Net Galley for sending me an advanced reader’s copy for my review.

A very well-written book with wonderfully-interesting characters. The suspense builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds. My first book in the series but definitely able to be read as a stand alone. Worthy of your TBR list.

This is an adorable little cozy. I fell in love with the witches and the shifters. The humans not so much. I just adore Abby and her sheriff boyfriend. I certainly enjoy trying to follow along and figure out who the killer is. This one was difficult. I just was not expecting it. No one in town liked Cassandra. She was incredibly difficult. This book is one of the best in the series. I definitely recommend this book.

not my usual genre of book in the sense it's magical, however, I loved this! I loved the twist and turns and the feeling of not being able to pin point who I thought did it! I love how Carolyn made you double guess each character and question them! The story line was a good read and perfectly written!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ -- A fun paranormal cozy mystery!

I quite enjoyed this book. I have read none of the other books in the series, and this one stands up relatively well as a standalone. However, it would be this reader's recommendation to start at book one, as I felt like there was a lot of backstory that would have made this an even better read. That said, this was a fun, quick read with quirky and likable characters. Well written and with an interesting plot that kept me guessing until the end. I will definitely go back and get caught up, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for these characters.

This is the 4th book in the "Holiday Hills" cozy mystery series. I highly recommend the entire series for all that love paranormal cozies. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.

In this fun next in series our protagnist is investigating the murder of a scary town witch who was disliked and feared by many. She does not trust the police as she believes her murder has to do with magic . She and the entire town is suspect as clues and suspects abound . Abby and her talking cat , her parrot and her friends are soon on the trail of solving the mystery.

I love the charcters in this series. The author deftly captures Southern culture and the paranormal perfectly blended to please every cozy reader. This is a must read series that I highly recommend.

I really need to pick up the books I haven't read after this one, as I'm enjoying the series development. I love Abby her talking animal sidekicks and the magical world they live in.

Princess Fuzzypants here: If you are going to do a witchy mystery and you are going to have a talking cat familiar, one with a heart of gold and a knack for snark is just what you want. Cooper’s loyalty to. Abby is unassailable but it doesn’t mean he does not push her buttons with his slightly misogynistic 70s style banter. He fancies himself as a cat nip for the ladies and he might be right.

Abby, only discovered her powers when her mother died. She not only learned she was also a witch but she is learning she is a very powerful one. She is still in the process of determining how to use them but needless to say, she takes no guff from other supernaturals. Good thing as she has her hands full with two young witches, a shapeshifter and an older witch with dementia after the meanest witch in town is murdered. The two young witches are her nieces and they are not amused when they learn the estate is going to the dog. Literally. And the shapeshifter who has been caring for Barney will continue to live in the house and have access to her wealth.

That does make him a good suspect but not as good as the two spoiled and nasty nieces. Abby’s chief of police beau, Gabe, is on a secret mission so she cannot depend on him but as a warlock, he is able to pop in when she needs him. It is all a good read where they mystery is secondary to the characters and the magic. Abby does solve it but it has a slightly bittersweet conclusion..

Four purrs and two paws up.

When the meanest witch in town is found dead suddenly the entire town is on the suspect list! It's up to Abby and her witchy crew to figure it out before the wrong suspect is sentenced for life! A fun cast of characters that are sure to bring a smile to your face as you delightfully make your way through an intriguing plot! While the entire cast is fun, the familiars make these books so much more fun! Who wouldn't want a singing parrot to charm you or a snarky casanova cat backing you up if you find yourself in trouble!?! Although something is off in the familiar world in this one as well so hurry and read this one so I'll have more people begging the author for more! That will make her write faster right!?!

The old nasty witch has died. Since Gabe is out of town, it's up to Abby and Cooper to find the killer. I like Abby and Bessie, Cooper is super good plus, the rest of the characters are left to be desired. Cozy mysteries are the best mysteries. You get to know the characters and since it's in a small town there's not many characters you have to keep track of. The cozy mystery instantly sucked me in, Abby's a fun character and the secrets she uncovers just keeps you turning the page. It was a fun, easy and fast read. So for me it took forever, I read every word, I'm envious of the fast readers, kinda wish i knew how. Anyhow I recommend this book for the cozy lovers.

Thank you to Severn River Publishing and NetGalley for a free e-arc in return for an honest review.

Another Witch Bites the Dust is the fourth in the Holiday Hills Witch series by Ridder Aspensen and, just like the previous titles, it delivers a warm, cosy mystery with a supernatural flare, despite the story centring around the death of an elderly witch.

There is just the right amount of conflict - both with the main plot surrounding the murder of Cassandra Bloom, the nastiest witch in town, and surrounding Abby's boyfriend and his chief-of-police substitute who doesn't seem to like Abby all that much.

There is limited character development in this fourth instalment, particularly in comparison to the first few which involved more world building and background for Abby as a protagonist. However, the plot seems more focused, with red herrings and plot twists which appear to move the narrative forward while establishing more dimension for minor characters such as Bessie,

The mystery surrounding Gabe's mysterious job - and the fact that he can pop back when Abby needs him the most - is explored a little further, which will hopefully culminate further in the series however, for the moment, it appears weak in relation to the other aspects of the story.
