Wow, Wow, Wow! I really enjoyed this novel. This book had multiple twists and turns that left me thinking what on earth! The author had you thinking one thing and then wham hits you with something else! There were many twists towards the end of the novel but it didn't detract from the story line! I am looking forward to reading the next couple books in this series! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC audio!

I just finished the book "The Arrangement by Kierstan Modglin. It was a wild ride. Here re my thoughts
The two main characters Peter and Ainsley are a married couple seemingly in a rut in their mairriage. In order to spice things up, they make an "arrangement"' that they can date other people, but can not talk to each other about what happened.
Mostly plot driven with little or no character development the story flows quite ncely with twists and turns, and revelations. What I liked was that it was fairly easy to follow, even though at times I had to suspend disbelief. What I didn't like was that the characters were no that developed and lacked depth. I need to be invested in the outcome in order to truly enjoy a book.
Even though I enjoyed the book for its entertainment value it was a story I quickly forgot about, hence the ranking.
Happy Reading !

This book was so fun! Just the kind of campy thriller I was looking for. Even more exciting when I heard it would be the start of a series - I am very much looking forward to reading more about this depraved couple!

I received a copy of The Arrangement from the publisher through NetGalley

I really enjoyed this. The twists and turns kept me listening. Ainsley and Peter are going through a rough patch. Ainsley decides they need to date other people. Peter agrees, but it seems his heart isn’t into it.

A roller coaster of a book, I can’t wait to read the sequel. 4 stars.

First time reading this author’s work and won’t be my last. I was very intrigued going in and a little taken aback at the logic Ainsley deploys to save her marriage. “Hey, honey, we are going to get on a dating app and see other people.” Wait, what? Not surprising that Peter readily agrees, though he struggles with the idea of Ainsley sleeping with the men she is seeing.

In a nutshell, what we have here is a marriage imploding under the weight of all the lies and secrets flying around. Seems to me that agreeing to start seeing other people to reignite the spark you once felt for one another while keeping what you are doing with these other people a secret has disaster written all over it! But that’s just me, I guess. I prefer to deal openly and honestly with people. Ainsley insists to Peter they have no more secrets and by the end of the book, it appears all (and I mean ALL) of the deep, dark and uglies have reared their heads. We shall see, dear readers, as this is the first book in a series and I am convinced that we have not yet begun to see the depths Ainsley and Peter will sink to in order to save their marriage or keep their actions in this book a secret. Ironic how everything they are doing requires keeping it secret, but Ainsley is adamant that there be no secrets between them. How is that working for you, Miss Ainsley? I think you’re going to be in over your head and things are going to get really ugly for you. I can’t wait to find out!

My Final Verdict: This story is a wild rollercoaster of a ride that requires the reader to hold on tightly with a white-knuckled grip. There are so many twists and turns, one could get whiplash, but the entire experience left me picking my jaw up off the floor. I highly recommend this book to readers who love to be shocked with surprise twists and like a front-row seat into other people’s drama and emotional baggage.

Kiersten’s best work in my opinion 💁🏼‍♀️ that last chapter is a stunner 🙌🏼 a bored married couple agree to a trial open relationship in this dual POV psych thriller. They end up getting themselves in way over their heads 😅 There’s twists upon twists right up until the end. Great narration by George Newbern & Sarah Mollo-Christensen. I’m so excited to listen to the sequel!

Thank you so much Kiersten Modglin, NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the advanced listeners copy in exchange for an honest review.

DNF. Unfortunately, this was a book I started multiple times but could just not get into. I appreciate having the opportunity to read this book, it was just not a good fit for me as a reader. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my gifted review copy.

Peter and Ainsley seem to be at a breaking point in their marriage to each other. When Ainsley proposes a crazy idea to get them back on track, should Peter agree? Will it truly bring them closer together or will it be the last straw with their marriage. Very interesting book that ultimately can be the thing to bring them back on track, but it does seem a bit of a crazy concept. Highly recommend.

Marriages are private and no one really knows what’s going on except the two people in it. What kind of arrangement are you willing to do to save your marriage? What kind of arrangements are you personally willing to make? TBH—before going where they are about to go I’d make an effort a bit earlier like Couples Counseling or Date Nights! You don’t jump into a list of rules for dating other people because you know this is a bad idea right?
Just as you are sucked in and begin wondering if their arrangement is going to make or break this marriage the train derails and it really hits the fan. Revelations begin coming so fast and furious towards the end that it completely changed every single I thought I knew! TBH it may be too “twisted” for some readers. By the very end I had no clue who I was rooting for or IF I was even rooting for either them.

The Narration was very good.

✨Thriller Thursday Book Review✨

First off, thank you to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for the eALC. 🎧

Coco 🐶 is like WTF did you just listen to??? I’m not sure, actually. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This was my first Kiersten Modglin and…wow. She is known for her unpredictable psychological suspense and I can totally vouch for this description of her writing. 🤯

The Arrangement starts out with a married couple who has been drifting apart. They decide to separately go on a dating app and see other people on specific nights of the week. Perhaps this will somehow bring them back together? All without telling their kids, friends or families. What could go wrong, right? So, so, so much…

This audiobook had fantastic narrators and clocking in at around 6 hours I normally would’ve been able to listen to this in a single day. BUT, due to the…ahem…adult nature of this one…I had to spread it out a bit. I didn’t want my husband to hear what I was listening to and most definitely not my kids. Don’t let anyone read over your shoulder with this one or listen in randomly. 😬😵🥴 Earbuds or headphones necessary!

Definitely recommend this one to you psychological thriller fans and I will definitely be reading more @kierstenmodglinauthor soon!

What did I just read?! This was so twisty and so hard to put down. This was absolutely fantastic thriller read. If you’re looking for a thriller look no further and puck this one up. This is a short book physically but it’s not short with excitement. I left this book requesting other books by this author because IT. WAS. JUST. THAT. GOOD!

SO MANY TWISTS. I did not see this ending coming at all. It was like BOOM, BOOM BOOM, so many different twists one right after the other. The narration is fantastic. It was unexpected how much I enjoyed this one.

I had a hard time rating this book. While on one hand, I couldn’t put it down, on the other hand, the ending really turned me off. I hated both main characters and couldn’t find myself rooting for either one.

⁣Ainsley and Peter’s marriage is in trouble and they both know it. When Ainsley proposes they each date someone new each week in hopes of rekindling the spark, Peter quickly agrees. Of course, their plan backfires and they are both pushing the boundaries of deception, suspicion, and temptation. Can their marriage possible survive? ⁣

⁣I listened to the audiobook of The Arrangement in a little over twenty-four hours and was completely entertained. Is it ridiculous and silly? You bet! But sometimes that’s exactly what you need in a twisty thriller! ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣The end did go a little off the rails, but it was a satisfying ending even if it was completely ridiculous. ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Three and a half stars… rounded up to four! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⁣

A marriage in crisis, an arrangement to see other people and a hope to repair what is broken. Ainsley and Peter appear to have a great marriage, but they feel something is missing. So why not see other people to spice things up? Try to find that excitement that has been missing and hopefully bring them closer. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing that I expected!!

Ainsley’s first date ends up what appears to be a creepy stalker and Peter comes to the rescue resulting in tragedy. Can they stand by each other through deception and temptation? How well do they really know one another?

My Thoughts:
I found a new author! This book had it all for me – family drama, suspense, twists, and surprises. The characters were flawed, and I loved it. The narration of the book was spot on alternating between the chapters with male and female narrators, who allowed me to focus on the characters and see the story unfold. Fast paced and worth every second!!!

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* 4.5 ngl i do not think this is a book i could reread because its just one of those "now you know tho" kind of things but oh wow, reading this for the first time was a wild ride. Tons going on and always adding new twists!

Holy cow what did I just read? So this is my first book by this author and will not be my last. I was so wrapped up in this story. I did listen to the audio and was floored by what was going on. I think several times my mouth dropped open in "Holy Cow" mode.

With their marriage on the rocks and lacking Ainsley and Peter decide to open up their marriage and see other people. And this is where it gets interesting. Wow just wow. Right when you think you have this things figured out, you get another bomb dropped. They just kept coming. I loved this roller coaster ride. I love domestic thrillers and this one is no different. Loved it.

I will be recommending this one everywhere!

Thrillers are one of my favorite genre and Kiersten Modglin is a new-to-me author! After reading The Arrangement, I’m still wondering why it has taken me so long to read one of her books!! I’m very excited that she has written many other books for me to explore!

I listened to this book in one sitting! I loved how it had a lot of twist and turns and I wasn’t able to figure out what was going to happen next.

Ainsley and Peter will do anything to save their failing marriage. Ainsley presents the idea of an open marriage arrangement and Peter agrees immediately.....with both of them in agreement, what could possibly go wrong?

The two narrators, one male and one female, did a fabulous job telling the story in an engaging way.

I highly recommend this one to anyone that loves a good psychological thriller with twist and turns that will give you whiplash!! For those that have #kindleunlimited, you're in luck because this book is included!!

This was a phenomenal thriller and I have no idea how/why I have been sleeping on reading any Kiersten Modglin books! She is the master of the twist. There were so many sudden unexpected twists in this novel, I feel like I had whiplash. A couple were slightly expected but then just as quickly as the twist was revealed, another appeared. I cannot wait to catch up on this authors backlist!

Wow! The Arrangement is a fabulous book by Kiersten Modglin! There were so many twists and turns throughout the book!. It kept me guessing until the very end!

I received an ARC of the audio version of this book. The book is written from the two main characters’ alternating perspectives, The two narrators, one male and one female, were ideal choices to read each perspective. The narrators can truly make or break an audio book, and I felt these two narrators nailed it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed above are my own.
