Great book by J. Warner Wallace! I loved the premise of the book which was seeing Jesus's effect on the world through history to today. The world would be a different place without Him. The book has great illustrations that make things easier to understand. The case note are a good resource although you go to the website for them. I can understand why with them being the size of another book and they are a good resource. It is a fantastic idea to show that one could put the Gospel together just by study of the areas such literature, music, education and science etc.

Wallace’s new book, Person of Interest, is a game-changer in apologetics, taking ideas and concepts that are commonplace to non-Christians and examining them in a side-by-side comparison, showing just how Jesus impacted everything since He came over 2,000 years ago. This book will make skeptics think, make believers understand the depth of truth that Christianity holds and will allow honest seekers to find answers. Art, music, mythology, movies, followers, history, culture, prophets and psalmists all were impacted by the arrival, life, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth—and Wallace will show you how.

Read this book!
James Warner Wallace is a modern day police detective who specializes in solving cold-case crimes. In his newest book, he parallels a modern day murder investigation with the existence of Jesus and how he has influenced the world for over 2000 years. Find out how atheists and Christ's enemies build the case for him in "Person Of Interest". You'll be amazed!

The appeal of this book to me is based on the fact that I have read 3 other books by J. Warner Wallace, Cold Case Christianity;God's Crime Scene and Forensic Faith. Each of his previous books were topical in nature and would also recommend those books to those that have not read them yet. The title of this book,Person of Interest, also has a sub-title of,Why Jesus Still Matters In A World That Rejects The Bible. Most Christians I would say have probably had people say,"You can't trust the Bible because it was written so long ago and has been changed and/or Jesus was not to a real person. This book will give you the facts you need to prove that Jesus was real and that He was different from any other religious leader or other "god" like deity. The amount of research that Mr. Wallace put into this book will, in my opinion, impress you. It far exceeded my expectations. I also believe that this book could be a great evangelistic tool to give to a family member or friend that does not believe Jesus was a real person. Just ask them before hand, "If I were to give you a book would you read it?". Then ask them if after reading the book could we sit down and talk about what you read. The whole purpose of this is to get a conversation going about Jesus and why He came to earth.

J. Warner Wallace has another massive hit on his hands. His comparison of the fallout from Jesus to that of a no-body homicide is truly unique, as well as engaging. Jim tells the side-by-side stories of a real no-body homicide cold case that he worked as a detective next to his journey with his wife Susie from skeptic to believer in the real live person of Jesus of Nazareth.

One aspect of this book I enjoyed was that the information was not oft repeated apologetics content. Jim’s fuse and fallout method of investigating the life of a seemingly unimportant carpenter’s son from an ostensibly irrelevant town without a kingdom, army or social media presence brought new investigative resources to the search for Christ and answered so many questions for which I had never heard answers.

Maybe you’ve asked yourself, Why didn’t Jesus come sooner so more people could have been able to trust Him as a savior prior to ~30 CE? Or maybe you’ve wondered Why He didn’t wait until there was some form of recording devices so we wouldn’t have to “have faith” in miracles? Jim lays out a case for Christ’s arrival layer by layer until we can see the exact window we should expect to see the Messiah in history, and then why we can trust Jesus had to be the Messiah. This was by far my favorite part just because I loved seeing what God was waiting for to send Jesus into the world. It gives such a beautiful understanding of the fullness of time and God’s character.

Then, the rest of the book tackles every way and everything we can know about Jesus even if we didn’t have a single copy of the New Testament! The idea that Jesus is only important because of one religious book is blown out of the water over and over.

In addition to incredible apologetics content, Jim’s artistic skills make this a book you really want to own. You are going to want to hold these graphics in your hands. They add much visual emphasis to the concepts in each chapter.

Lastly, while this book is concise and easy to read relatively quickly, Person of Interest also holds an astounding amount of facts and research. The case notes at the end of the book are so rich and in-depth, I would have bought them as a separate book just to have them.

I would highly recommend Person of Interest for any believer or skeptic interested in knowing if there is any reason for the hope we have in Christ.

True crime dramas are popular these days. J. Warner Wallace capitalizes on that by pulling you into his criminal investigation of a “No Body Homicide” based on his actual cases. He explains how even in the most challenging of situations--a cold case homicide with no body--evidence can still be gathered such that a jury can reach a decision beyond a reasonable doubt. Chapter by chapter he parallels this homicide investigation to his real-life investigation of Jesus done in the same manner. Before becoming a Christian in his late 30’s, Jim reasoned that if Jesus was who Christians say He is, and if it mattered, there should be more than enough evidence to convince him of this without the use of the New Testament. It is a remarkable technique that makes for engaged reading, and something only someone with Jim’s unique background could do. Without giving too much away, you will be surprised, if not shocked, to find out what he uncovered. Thoroughly researched and cited, the book is also chock full of illustrations that aid in the understanding of the evidence he uncovered. Truly, this is a book for our times, as many today have been convinced that the New Testament cannot be relied upon as evidence. As Jim so skillfully demonstrates, however, Jesus matters as history’s singular person of interest.

Person of Interest is a thought provoking and extremely well researched book, full of facts and illustrations yet reads like a novel. If there were no New Testaments available anywhere in the world, would we know anything about the life of Jesus? The answer is an overwhelming YES! Jesus had (and has) such an influence on the world that no other person in all of history can even come close to matching Him. This book goes into great detail regarding Jesus and His followers' role in art, music, education, science and more. Christians will learn and be encouraged by this book and skeptics will find it difficult to deny Jesus' fingerprints on so many aspects of life throughout the centuries. This book is highly recommended for all, especially those who dismiss the validity of the Bible. Removing all New Testaments will not remove Jesus from history and since that is the case, He is well worth investigating.

J. Warner Wallace does it again with his newest book on the most famous individual in human history. A well-known cold-case homicide detective featured on several episodes of Dateline, Wallace uses his keenly developed skills of investigation to probe the historical record, without reference to the New Testament, to discover why Jesus should be considered a “person of interest” by all people, regardless of their current system of belief or non-belief.

A self-avowed atheist in his younger days as a homicide detective, Wallace agreed to attend a Christian church service with his wife many years ago, and something the pastor said intrigued him. In essence, the pastor told the congregation that Jesus was the most important and influential person in the history of the world. Wondering why anyone would consider Jesus such a “person of interest,” Wallace decided to investigate for himself the veracity of what the pastor proclaimed. Being an atheist, however, and not trusting the New Testament as a reliable historical source, Wallace used his finely honed detective skills and applied them to the investigation of Jesus. By using a technique he calls “fuse and fallout,” he made an incredible discovery regarding the time period of Jesus’ birth, growth into adulthood, ministry, and death. For me, reading about this discovery by itself was worth the price of the book. Now I understand more deeply Galatians 4:4-5 when Paul says: “But when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” He uses this method throughout the book to fully discover just how powerful an impact Jesus had and continues to have on history after his death. What Wallace discovered should strengthen the faith of all believers and give non-believers a reason to delve more deeply into why Jesus should be a “person of interest” for them as well.

Wallace gives the reader of Person of Interest a unique perspective on the life, times, and global influence of the person called Jesus Christ. He has presented the question "who is Jesus and why does it matters?" in an unusual way; by looking outside of Scripture to see if and how Jesus has influenced the history of the world and all people. This reviewer suggests Person of Interest can be read by a Christian believer, a truth seeker, and/or skeptic. In doing so the reader will find there is more to the person of Jesus than merely a carpenter's son who lived in first century Bethlehem. Wallace reveals in detail how Jesus Christ has influenced every aspect of human life throughout the centuries. Regardless of one's geographical location, job, area of interest (music, literature, art, education, worship, medicine/science), or worldview the reader will discover this person called Jesus contributed in a positive way to the flourishing of humankind. If you have not already considered the question; "What does the life of this person called Jesus mean for me?" who may find yourself doing so.

Truth matters. We need to pay attention to truth. Just like when a road sign says "Danger, Road Out," if we ignore that truth, we head into destruction. Because Jesus is the Truth, we need to pay attention to Him. The evidence brought forth that proves Jesus to be history's Person of Interest, the only one ever to turn the world upside down. This book is not only a must read for anyone serious about what matters, it's a book you'll want to read and reread. J. Warner Wallace writes from his investigative detective experience to show how all history led up to and prepared the way for the arrival of Jesus. And then he goes on to prove that all history after His arrival was forever changed. You'll discover that all you hold as important in literature, art, music, education, and even science (yes, science) and religion was so changed that to delete Jesus you'd have to scrub each one to unrecognizable/undesirable states. Jesus matters because truth matters.

Had a blast reviewing the prerelease copy of this book, especially since I've done application development for Department of Corrections, Washington State Patrol and the Attorney General's Office. And who doesn't love a good murder mystery?

I really loved reading this journey of Jim and Susie Wallace. Jim's no-body homicide investigation (really a compilation of cases) provides a fascinating analogy for their pursuit of truth.

"What is truth?" Proverbs tells us to buy the truth and not to sell it. Jim invested the time and hard work required to solve his no-body homicide and to discover the truth about Jesus.

Jim worked through so many objections, so many preconceived ideas, and researched the events leading up to and following the Christ who changed our calendar and our world forever.

If you're happy to be sold the popular narrative then by all means have at it, but I hope you'll invest the time to read this book. It's actually a quick and enjoyable read but if you give it a chance I believe it can change your life.

Person of Interest is definitely a book you want to read. In classic J. Warner Wallace form, he provides new angles on the validity of Jesus Christ. A few things I enjoyed the most were the Fuse and the Fallout and the Red Zone. After reading this book, I have a much better idea on the impact that Jesus had on many different areas such as science, art, music, and architecture. There are also many illustrations in this book that help understand the concepts. I highly recommend this book!

Person of Interest by J Warner Wallace
I love to read apologetics but often they cover similar material again and again. Wallace, in Person of Interest asks the question, Is there evidence outside of the New Testament documents to support the reality, life, and teachings of Jesus and his impact on our world? And even if there is, is there evidence that Jesus still has any importance or relevance to us in 2021? Since so many people today do not accept any part of the Bible as sacred, important, accurate or reliable, can we answer the questions just stated without appealing to the Bible?

Using his skills as a cold-case detective, and the unique steps he takes in looking for and organizing evidence for criminal cases, Wallace presents strong evidence to answer those questions for the skeptical reader. A former atheist himself, Wallace shares the process he went through himself to answer those very questions.

In this book I believe I have an additional ‘tool’ to suggest to skeptics who shy away from the actual Biblical texts. The book is interesting and moves along well. The use of an actual unsolved murder case helped make his process more clear and powerful. I do wish, however, he would have reflected on how his evidence might be viewed by persons of non-western cultures. I can highly recommend this book for both believers and skeptics in answering the question of what makes Jesus so special and unique, and why he still matters.

Person of Interest offers an overview of historic details for anyone in need of *brushing up*, and affirms reason to believe for the Christian and the non-Christian. It is a huge intellectual gift to create a concept that coordinates a wide range of information. In Person of Interest, J. Warner Wallace displays that gift. In this book, Detective Wallace follows the Socratic admonition, *We must follow the argument wherever, like a wind, it may lead us (Republic 394d)*. He shows that the person, Jesus, fits the identity that a wide range of circumstances over the centuries that preceded and followed his advent require.

A very well researched and easy to follow book! The author ties in a cold case that he helped to solve, with the evidence and info about Jesus. Definitely interesting and eye opening!!
I received an advance e-copy of this book from the author, but I already have the paperback on pre-order.

“Person of Interest: Why Jesus Still Matters in a World that Rejects the Bible” is a feast for the mind and the soul! J. Warner Wallace has penned a doozy of a book and created first-rate artwork! I really enjoy books that start off at a run, and I clicked with this book right away. Wallace parallels “a past case” with his own investigation of the truth about Jesus Christ. The way he presents Tammy’s disappearance case put me in the exact headspace to examine the clues from history, science, music, literature, education, science and art to make the case for the importance and impact of Jesus Christ. The author skillfully bounces back and forth between these two cases as he moves forward in presenting the evidence gathered in each investigation.

My mind was frequently blown as I was drawn to moments of worship of a meticulous God Who perfectly wove the fabric of time and circumstances to usher in the very moment the Messiah would appear! In the first couple of chapters, the author lays out how language and writing and transportation advanced through history to the point of Jesus’ time on earth with such precision to allow the message of the Gospel to be spread to the ends of the earth!

As the book progressed, I became grateful that, in this time of “cancel culture,” the Savior of the world can never be canceled because of His influence on so many different aspects of culture! Even if every Christian Bible were destroyed, we would be able to re-create the life of Jesus, His miracles, His death and His resurrection through His influence. “Person of Interest” has grown my faith and equipped me to support my beliefs using resources other than Scripture!

But wait, there’s more! After devouring this book, although I am inspired to go back and re-read Wallace’s other books to see if I glean more from them the second time around, I don’t think I’ll have time to do that! There are so many other things to read! The collection of resources in the Case Notes at the end of this book is (almost) worth the entire cost of this surprisingly small work and earns the book prime real estate on my keeper shelf! The Case Notes are meaty and point the reader to the author’s sources so you can verify what he’s written! Don’t take his word for it. Look it up for yourself!

I'm not really for one to write complex reviews of things. If the good outweighs the bad then I'm all for supporting it just with the caveat of a few things. Nothing too complex.

So with being upfront? I really enjoyed the book and the good in it outweighs any blemish.

The book follows two stories: The missing body detective story then the case of Jesus Christ's appearance and impact on the world to follow. I found both stories to be engaging and informative working together to show the importance of Jesus Christ whether you are a believer or non-believer of him.

I've always had love of mystery and detective books/stories. So this book had easily drawn me into it right at the start. I think I would have even had love more details on the missing body case but I also realize that that would have taken away from the main case of Jesus Christ. Which was the main focus as needed.

Following the case of Jesus Christ our knowledge of history in expanded upon.

The impact of Jesus Christ and his followers on things we all hold dear and have grown through is amazing.

Art?
Music?
Science?
Education?

All can be shown within this book.

J. Warner Wallace has become an experienced writer and that shows in this book. The solid writing with graphical images make this book such a quick and easy read.

How does Jesus Christ as a person of interest matter to us in our current time? It turns out quite a lot.

Wow...another great Book! Hard to imagine a better complement to your first books. I have taken my 2 oldest grandkids through all 3 Cold Case books. Now that they are older, can't wait to share this one with them as well. Thanks, Jim

J. Warner Wallace has done it again! His latest book, "Person of Interest: Why Jesus Still Matters in a World that Rejects the Bible" will inform and inspire concerning Jesus of Nazareth, and shows, using his tried and proven methodology as a celebrated cold-case detective, why it is more than reasonable to trust that Jesus was who He said He was, and still is!

Wallace has a gift for making information of this nature accessible to all people and he skillfully weaves the story of one of his real-life murder cold cases into this book, drawing the reader into the world of a detective. He applies his considerable skills to his trust in Jesus as well, showing the impact Jesus has had and continues to have in this world.

This book is heavily researched and well-illustrated, to show visually the concepts he is presenting. The case notes, as he calls his footnotes, are longer than the actual book, so you don’t have to simply take his word for it.
It also demonstrates in a powerful way how you can show who Jesus is even if you destroyed every Bible in the world.

As you learn about the dramatic impact Jesus has had and continues to have through His followers; in education, the visual arts, literature, music, and all the fields of science, it will become abundantly clear that Jesus has had more impact on this world than any other person in the history of this planet! Jesus matters! Thank you, J. Warner Wallace for making the case. Case closed!
