Marc and Eden have graduated at the top of their class from the police academy. They have butted heads from the start and now that they are stuck having to work undercover as an engaged couple, there will be fireworks.
This was a fun, easy to read, entertaining enemies to lovers romance. Their banter was super fun and their chemistry super hot. I really enjoyed how the story developed between Eden and Swain, it was fun and enjoyable. It is a great addition to the series.

Life's too short to hate read. I thought this was going to be a spy romance and not a police romance. I don't do police romances. Because of this I already didn't like the characters going in but did give it a try, however I could not make myself like it. The op felt convoluted, like why does two guys selling pot require an entire undercover operation. Beyond that the misogyny including the comments about Eden's appearance were just exhausting. Once they got to the town the depictions of the townspeople were really horrid. No amount of enemies to lovers and forced proximity (my two favorite tropes) could confine me to continue with this book. I read until 10%, skimmed to 25%, then flipped to about 30% and the book did not appear to be improving so I stopped.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Undercover Engagement returns readers to the delightful small town of Bluelick, Kentucky and an enemies to lovers romance between two newly graduated cops Eden Braxton, whose come out number one in training and Marcus Swain, who graduated in the number two spot, and whose bosses have decided are the perfect pair to work an undercover operation in the area. Even though they seem like they can't stand the sight of each other.

And it was a fun, easy, engaging and entertaining read. That was full of sparring, sparks, likable characters and an undercover operation that slowly developed as Eden and Swain's frostiness towards each other began to thaw.

And of all the Private Pleasure stories I've read Undercover Engagement is definitely my favourite.

Would recommend.

Undercover Engagement by Samanthe Beck had the makings of an excellent read. I loved the idea of two officers who operate on opposite ends of the spectrum going undercover as a couple. However....

First of all, the male cover model has dark hair, and I'm positive his hair color was depicted as sandy blonde (or something along those lines). Maybe I'm mistaken, and it's not THAT big of a deal, but it bugged me.

Next, the undercover operation itself felt pretty hokie to me. I wasn't interested in it at all. I didn't like the way the Bluelick citizens were portrayed. There was no sense of mystery or suspense or intrigue. Nothing.

I did enjoy the chemistry and the "hate to love" between Eden and Swain, but that alone couldn't carry the story for me, not when their op felt so ridiculous to me. If that would have been different, this probably would have been a 4 or even 5 star for me.

Undercover Engagement is a wickedly pulse-pounding and spectacularly intoxicating journey into a delicious enemies to lovers romance. Forced to work in close proximity, each step and interaction only fan the flames of the volcano already threatening to erupt and consume them both. However, their hearts won't let them let walk away from the other completely for some unknown reason. They must face the heat between them before it destroys what they are desperate to build and leaves them with nothing more then a pile of ash. What a stunning journey into the very heart of love!

Eden is trying to get on the right foot after graduating the police academy. She longs to prove herself and show that she has what it takes to make it and be a good cop. However, there is one huge thorn her side that she has to deal with before she can truly shine - Marcus Swain. Swain is the bane of her existence. He is smart, sexy, and already has great instincts for being a copy. He is trying to keep her from her destiny, and she will fight him tooth and nail to get what she wants. Can he show her that there is more to him then just an annoying show off who is desperate to throw her off her game, or she will walk away from the best thing in her life?

This couple is something so very special. They are perfect for the other and yet they fight the intense attraction and pull of the other. However, when the other is in need of help, they don't hesitate to offer their help. As they discover the demons and insecurities that haunt the other, they unconsciously begin to help to alleviate their pain and discomfort. It is such a breathtaking thing to see two people gravitate to the other as these two soulmates slowly recognize who they are to each other.

Samantha Beck has become an instant favorite after this brilliant story! I was in complete and total awe of her magnificent creativity and incredible heart. Just wow! I need more, and I plan on reading as many of her books as I can find!

I usually don’t start a series mid point but the title and the chance to try a new author enticed me to give it a try.
The story centers around two individuals who recently graduated from their law enforcement training. One, with a new job as a policewoman the other as a sheriff.
Even in training these two seemingly opposites were always sparing, but the sparks were also flying. Maybe not evident to them but certainly to others.
Eden Brixton , a by the book woman, is not happy when she is assigned an undercover mission with none other than her nemesis, Marcus Swain, a former Marine whose childhood was not the best, and who is definitely not a by the book kind of guy.
As the undercover progresses, so do the feelings. But trusting someone else is not something either gives easily. Will they be able to complete the operation? Will the end of it mean the end of their budding relationship?
This was an easy read and an entertaining book. My one issue is that too much of the book was spent between the sheets, not always necessary for the plot.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Entangled Brazen. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Oh, yea, this one’s a scorcher! Make sure you have a fan nearby and maybe chapstick too cause Swain is lick-your-lips delicious. A really fun read! HEA, of course. It’s a stand alone but the others in the series are just as good so make sure to read those too!

An Entertaining Romance.
Eden can’t stand fellow cadet Marcus Swain, so is not best pleased when they have to pretend to be a couple for an undercover op. But doth the lady protest too much?
Loved how this romance and the undercover op unfurled. A recommended read.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Undercover Engagement by Samanthe Beck from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve read a few books by Samanthe Beck before and am familiar with the Private Pleasures series so I was excited to have an opportunity to be an advanced reader for the latest novel.

Overall, I felt this was a solid romance novel and I found it to be extremely well written (something I expect from the author and have not been let down by). The plot was engaging and evenly paced. The characters were nicely written (layers, folks!) and the dialogue was hilarious at times and a little heartbreaking at others.

And while our main characters - straight laced, by-the-book rookie cop, Eden Brixton, and swoon worthy con man turned maverick rookie cop, Marc Swain - had flaws, they were likable and had chemistry from the start. Once they began their undercover assignment, the heat was quickly dialed up to 11 (the steamy scenes were wicked hot).

This was a quick, fun read and I cannot wait for future novels by Samanthe Beck!

This was a fun steamy read however I thought the relationship between Eden and Marcus was a little disjointed. I felt I was reading scenes without transitions. The characters had chemistry but the story needed to be filled out.

Steamy and exciting, this was the perfect rainy day read. I have been on a romance kick recently and this book is why.
