I've read two of these titles now and they always start off strong and then I lose interest in the middle before it grabs me again when I start to learn how the whole things unravelled.

Thanks to NetGalley I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Finlay is a single mother of two and a writer. She and her friend/Nanny, Vero, are trying to solve a crime involving her ex-husband's business. It is a delightful read as it has many surprises in the solving of the crime. However it has a real human side as Finlay copes with juggling motherhood and a job. Not your typical who done it but a fun read.

This is a really fun book! It's a perfect book to recommend to friends - a little bit of mystery, romance, and funny! It's a great sequel to the first one. I love a good mystery but can't read scary mysteries before bed so this combination is perfect! I recommend this whole series

Ugh, I love these books so much. They’re so fun and everything I didn’t know I needed. Love Finlay and can’t wait for the next installment!

The 2nd in this series is just as good as the first. Finley is totally loveable, probably because nothing ever goes quite the way she planned....
This is definitely light on the mystery/crime fiction with a little rom-com thrown in. I would recommend mostly to my mom friends for some fun reading.

This is the second book in Elle Cosimano’s Finlay Donovan series and much like the first book, I really enjoyed this one. I meant to read this when it first came out, but life had other plans…it happens!

This book is just as fast-paced and funny as the first and I really am kicking myself for waiting so long to pick it up. I just adore Finlay – she really has a way of inserting herself into quite some interesting situations and you just can’t help but laugh. And I love the banter between her and Vero – she is the perfect person to have by your side, that someone that is willing to do anything to help you out of a jam, ANYTHING!

This book keeps you on your toes as to what is going to happen next. The twists are expertly placed and there is just enough comedy and even a little romance to keep everyone satisfied. Some of the situations might be a little over the top, but this is just pure entertainment and the perfect book to escape in and I loved it all the more for that. And that ending once again leaves us with a great set-up for the next book…and I am going to promise myself not to wait six months to read!

I thoroughly enjoyed Finlay Donovan is Killing it and I believe I enjoyed this sequel even more? In this (mis)adventure, Finlay and Vero once again fall hilariously into a situation they never though they'd be in and this time, it revolves around Finlay's ex-husband. I though the dialog was much funnier than the first novel and while it was a bit repetitive at times, it held my interest throughout and I read it fairly quickly. I'm eager for the third book!

Another amazing Finlay mystery! All u know is, there better be a third. Her quirky misadventures and relatable talent for getting into trouble make this serious a must read for me.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I got tickled in the book and hubby was wondering what I was laughing at! I would definitely recommend this book!

And yet again the sequel I was here for the ridiculous situation she's gotten herself into and how she's going to get herself out of it. I loved this adventure I went on and so ready for the next book.

This one was a slower start for me than the first, but it didn't take long to grab my interest.

Mystery with a dash of romance and comedy, count me in! I'm obsessed with Finlay and Vero. They are a great team and always keep me entertained.

Finlay Donovan is back in another delightful mystery which she works to solve with her usual earnestness overcoming all sorts of interesting situations. This one picks up where the last one left off - someone has put out a "hit" on her ex-husband and it is a wild race to figure out who and try to save him. There are a large number of possible suspects including the Russian Mafia. Vero is back and it appears that she has some secrets as is the "hot cop." Filled with humor and suspense this is a great read.

I really wanted to love this. I was so invested in the first book and loved the idea but with the series continuation I think the plot line and the adventures became a little unrealistic. I lost a bit of interest with this one unfortunately.

Love Finlay so much! She is the perfect imperfect person. This continues her crazy story as an unofficial assassin. In this book she finds out someone is trying to take out her ex husband. The crazy situations that Finlay finds herself in and somehow gets through are hilarious. I can't wait for the next book.

Can’t wait for the next Finley Donovan! So funny but a mystery that keeps me interested and a character I adore. While light, a book of this genre that’s this funny isn’t easy to pull off and the author does so effortlessly

I don’t like books that are described as ‘funny’. This was absolutely hilarious. Like i cackled so many times. I thoroughly enjoy Elle’s written and Finlay as a character. I liked that the mystery in this was different than the first one, it wasn’t the same thing repeated. It brought the characters you loved (and hated) back and was really interested.

Finlay (a writer) has lunch at Panera with her publisher. She explains the plot of her next thriller. The lady beside her (eavesdropping of course), gave Finlay a note saying she pay her to assassinate her husband. she thought she was a hit man talking about her next murder. HILARIOUS. anyways,

I fully believe Finlay couldn’t kill a fly properly so it’s just so funny.

I wanted to love this as much as the first book, but this one just didn’t hook me like I wanted it to. There were so many people and plots from the previous book that I was confused— I probably should have read the first book again.
I will say that I do like where the romance aspect of this series is going!

Overall it was enjoyable, but it just felt like too much for me.
