Detective Joi Summers and her partner are on a mission to find out how a little girl died. There were a lot of twists and this was such a great read. There are several triggering themes in the story including the death of a pre teen and spouse, sex trafficking, grooming, pedophilia, drug addiction, suicide, kidnapping and prostitution. This mystery kept my attention from beginning to end and I was hooked from the start.

I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

So this is a mystery thriller. It all starts with a murder of a young girl. It really pulls at your heart strings.

I have never read Peters before but her writing really grabs you. She takes you on a journey into dark places, places you may not want to go. But Peters writing makes it ok somehow. The story I feel needed to be told. Peters handles it with empathy and care. It's very well done. It would easy to say this book wasn't for me but the author makes it not easier to read but better.

The characters are well developed. Some you will love others, not so much.

Enjoy!

Ohh okay wow ! I didn’t expect that from this book. I’m honestly not into mysteries or anything along those lines, I like a good romance. That’s being said this book had me hooked! Love you detective joi
