At first, I thought the book was mostly about the illustrations but not so much about the text. However, the back pages has some very helpful facts and tips about kittens.

The rhyming book is different from other books about cats and kittens because of its black and white illustrations and fun facts section. Color is featured in the illustrations for items or animals like a red cardinal, brown basket, or green feather. All the main colors are not shown, though it could be used to talk about colors, numbers, and directional words. The book seems to focus on one tabby kitten. This kitten demonstrates most of the fun and curiosity from the text. The rhyming scheme is simple, while it also invites guessing as most of the rhyming pairs are on separate pages and readers must turn to the next page to connect them. The kitten is featured in different sizes and perspectives. The fun facts section consists of 10 facts about cats and kittens and will educate readers of all ages. A delightful addition to picture book collections.

This is a delightful book for the young reader- either self read or read to- that is filled with cute words and even cuter pictures. It is sure to be a bedtime favourite. Five purrs and two paws up.

Sweet children’s book with beautiful pencil drawings.

I give this book 5🌟 for many reasons. Made me smile from page one till the end. Everyone has seen these cute behaviour from a kitten, from falling asleep in the middle of playtime to being spooked walking in front of a mirror.

The pencil drawings, with the touch of colour, are adorable.
I love the cats facts at the end of the book.
Little kids will love this book and it is a fun way to teach them about cats.
A beautiful reading time with your children.
I am looking forward to reading more books by this talented duo.

Featuring a variety of things to love about kittens from their mews to mischief making this rhyming picture book is sure to be a hit with the animal lovers. The pictures are so cute and the facts about cat behavior and care at the end of the book is a nice finish.

How adorable! This sweet book celebrating kittens will definitely keep kids entertained. The pencil/charcoal style illustrations are so cute and really capture all the mischief and playfulness that comes with kittens. The story is told in verse and it flows very well. Kids can get extra enrichment identifying rhyming words. This would be a great enticement for a newly independent reader who might be a little reluctant or intimidated. The subject matter is sure to appeal and the simple words will encourage reading success.

Smitten with kittens
This is a cute little rhyming book about kittens. I liked how the pencil drawn illustrations and intentional bits of color created a calm style that matched the sing-song words. But some of the rhymes felt like a stretch to me and some of the illustrations didn't quite match the story. That made this an average read for me.

Very cute story about kittens!! I loved how sweet this was and would be great for a child with a cat or thinking about getting a cat or kitten.

This book was cute. It would be perfect for story time. It’s just what kittens do. The cadence is nice and most of the rhymes are smooth, so overall a nice read.

Smitten With Kittens takes readers on an adorable journey through all of the things that kittens do that make us smitten with them. Grayscale illustrations are accentuated with little pops of color on each page. The illustrations of the kittens are highly detailed and they really stand out against the white background of the pages. I am a huge fan of this style of illustration and I think that many young readers will fall in love with the adorable kittens on each page. The story itself is presented in a rhyme as the kittens wander about doing all the things that kittens do. This book also includes a two-page spread of "Fun Facts" at the end that provides young readers with not only fun facts, but also with information to help them become responsible cat owners.

This is a title that I think my PreK and early elementary students would absolutely love. Not only do I think they would enjoy the story and illustrations, but I think this would be a good text for introducing students to the concept of rhyming. I will likely acquire a copy of this book to share with my own preschool aged child!

Smitten with kittens is an adorable illustrated children's book all about the playful antics of kittens. Any cat owner or lover will adore this book. The illustrations are in pencil and are simply the cutest!! I enjoyed the rhyming Verses through the book and children will definitely enjoy and pick up on the rhymes to finish them themselves as you read it together.
The back of the book has some interesting facts and information for both children and adults alike and some helpful tips for children if wanting to get or care for a kitten.

The illustrations are absolutely precious, capturing the inquisitive looks and snuggly nature that is a cat. The text is limited on each page to a line or two, making it appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers. Finally, the book closes with ten facts about kittens that are written in a developmentally appropriate way — encouraging young children to learn more about this animal and how to be a good caregiver and friend to cats. Loved it!

This book is adorable with the pencil drawings and the story line of the playful kittens. I love how the story captures the mannerisms of kittens; ever cat owner can relate! The pops of color on each page really captures your attention. My daughter and I are smitten with this book!

Smitten With Kittens is an adorable little book that is perfect to use as a read-aloud with toddlers or for younger children learning how to read on their own. I found the fun facts page at the end to be a great addition! I'm now trying to figure out if my cat is left-pawed or right-pawed.
