The whole setup is just chef's kiss. We've got Audrey, this super ambitious lawyer who's grinding non-stop to make partner. Then BAM! Enter Jake, the chill music guy who's basically sunshine in human form. I was immediately invested. The "opposites attract" trope is one of my faves, and Strobos totally nailed it.
What I really loved was how real the struggle felt. Audrey's torn between her career goals and her feelings for Jake, and it's not some cheesy, predictable conflict. You genuinely understand both sides. She wants the partnership, it is like her whole life but she is also falling for Jake. And Jake, bless his heart, has legit reasons for being wary of workaholics. It felt so relatable, even though I'm not, like, a lawyer aiming for partnership or anything.
The writing is on point. It’s easy to get lost in the story, and the dialogue felt so natural. I low-key felt like I was eavesdropping on real conversations. The author really made me feel like I was right there with Audrey and Jake, navigating their messy, adorable, and frustrating relationship.
There were moments when I wanted to yell at Audrey to prioritize her own happiness, and other times I was cheering her on to crush it at work. And Jake? Ugh, he's the boyfriend everyone needs. Supportive, understanding, and just genuinely a good dude. I was swooning, I won't even lie.
If you need a book that will give you the warm and fuzzies, make you laugh, make you think, and maybe even make you shed a tear or two, you need to read this ASAP. I'm adding it to my "comfort reads" list, for sure. 10/10 would recommend. Go get it, girlies

Partner Pursuit by Kathy Strobos is a charming and lighthearted romance about two people who unexpectedly find love while navigating the ups and downs of their personal lives. The story centers on Holly, who is focused on finding a business partner, and Nate, a man with a past and a desire for something more. As the two grow closer, they must confront their pasts and figure out if they can truly build a future together. Strobos’ writing is warm and engaging, with relatable characters and a slow-burn romance. Perfect for fans of sweet, feel-good love stories.

Funny lighthearted romance. The characters are well developed and the story keeps you engaged. Sweet book that will keep you laughing.

this was a good one from the start. must read and really enjoyed this from page one. I am loving this author more and more. Every book does it for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of "Partner Pursuit." All opinions are my own.
I like the opposites attract thing, but I definitely cant relate to the workaholic aspects of the main character. I appreciate the love interest being hesitant of that.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This is an old-school rom-com! If this book was a movie, JLo or Reese Witherspoon would play the female lead, with Matthew McConaughey as the love interest.
This is very straightforward, Audrey wants to be made partner at a law firm, and works way too much. Jake has a good job in the music industry and shows her how life can be if you have a little work life balance.
Now, they don’t move to a Christmas tree farm in the end to save a small town from bankruptcy by winning a winter bake sale, but Audrey does start to reevaluate her priorities.
Overall, I enjoyed this! It was very basic rom-com style. Jake has some Daddy issues and Audrey has some mom issues, but it really doesn’t get too deep.
This would be a great summer beach read if you wanted to pick it up.
Thank you @netgalley for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This has been on my NetGalley shelf for over a year, and I still haven’t picked it up. I've tried, but it just isn't for me (right now). I hope other people enjoy it more than I did.

In this engaging tale set in the bustling city, Audrey, a dedicated lawyer, faces a crucial decision: pursue a promotion or embrace a newfound romance with her caring neighbor, Jake.
While the premise captivated me, the book felt excessively long, overshadowing the desired focus on romance. The characters lacked depth, with an unconvincing love triangle. The dialogue and chemistry fell flat, impeding emotional connection.
The author's extensive exploration of Audrey's legal profession left non-lawyers confused. However, the realistic portrayal of work-life balance and Audrey's independent spirit were commendable, illustrating her determination to achieve success autonomously.

I really enjoyed this book! I read it in one sitting. I could relate the the MC how she worked so much, it ruined a relationship and friends. I would definitely recommend this book.

A romance with a compelling and empowering Women's Fiction with a Rom Com vibe. I loved the characters who kept me guessing as to what would happen with them.

This book is really fun. Audrey is a workaholic lawyer and is set to be made partner soon in her big firm. Then she meets Jake who is all about enjoying life and they fall in love. This is a humorous, feel good romance.

I really enjoyed this one. it isn't my favorite but I really loved the twist and the male mc. I couldn't done without our heroine but I usually don't like the female mc.

DNF.
The book had a lot of potential, but I found it hard to stay connected to the book. The main character had a job that was inspiring to learn about, but I found it boring to keep reading about.

I just realized that while I shared my review on Amazon, I didn't share the feedback here--I was new to Netgalley! Sorry about that. =) Loved the book.

I really enjoyed this book. I have always been fascinated with legal dramas and loved the humor, romance and legal mix of Ally McBeal and Suits and that's what this book reminded me of. The humor is really a small part. There's a lot of depth to this story and I felt like I was right there as a fly on the wall for the inner-workings of a law firm and the office politics that go along with trying to make partner and trying to balance having a love life--or a life, period. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This one was a lovely read. I really enjoyed reading this one. I just love this kind of books.
4 stars read for me

Thanks to NetGalley, Strawbundle Publishing, and Kathy Strobos for this read in exchange for a review.
I am torn about this book. Sixty chapters is a lot. I did enjoy the book for the most part though I will be honest and say that I skipped over a lot of the chapters with her at work. I am all about a strong, independent woman but she got stepped on so much in the beginning and it drove me crazy.
I really loved Jake and Audrey. They were super cute together. I totally understand his hesitation to want to date her when he has dealt with a workaholic parent. I do like that she worked hard to keep her relationship afloat.
I disliked that she had to apologize for everything she was doing in life. It always seems to be that way.
I really liked the book and cannot wait to read the others in the series.

This is a quick read and a great book about learning how to juggle a personal life with a job, and still try to keep your sanity.

This was so fun! I loved the serious/feminist/Women's Power angle mixed with a little bit of spicy rom com.
I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

Super fast paced book, loved the characters and it was loads of fun reading it. The cover was super cute and I love the colours of it. The cover drew me in as I have never heard of this book. It made me super intrigued and I’m so glad I gave it a chance.
My favorite part of this book was how Audrey was a strong female lead and a workaholic. Her character shows that you can have a successful career and still find love. You don’t need to sacrifice one for the other.
