Chase is very endearing and you can't help but to root for his success in not only recovery but with Shelby and their little girl.

Chase done a special and heartbreaking thing for his mother, yet it alienated him from his brothers and father. Shelby was there in his time of need, but Chase left for the army right after. When their beautiful daughter arrives 9 months later, Shelby continually includes Chase in her life even while he is in the service. Fighting the demons is his past, Chase can't give Shelby the respect needed and he must go to rehab.

Returning home for a second chance, his siblings and brothers are a hard convince that Shelby isn't after Chase's money while still holding a grudge against Chase.

The healing and love with Shelby, Chase and their is beautiful. Shelby's life story is heartbreaking and soon endangers her life and her daughters.

This story was excellent and takes a family on the roller coaster of life with hurts and healings and death and danger. Great writing and great kick off to a new series.

I love books that combine romance with a little intrigue. This book covered both. Chase is tormented by his past as a soldier and can't come to grips with the things he has seen and done. He turns to drugs to stop his pain; physical and mental. He meets Shelby who is fighting her own past. Together they heal and learn to love each other and themselves. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to find out how Hunt and Max fare in the love department.

If I were ever blind-sided by a book, it’d be this one. I usually read only happy-go-lucky books, so this one was definitely different. 50% in it’s all spicy romance with discussions about PTSD and addiction. Then BAM second half is PTSD, kidnapping, addiction, stalking, murder, mention of rape, and depression. The relationship between Chase and Shelby was so sweet and their parenting to Eliza was at the top of their priority list. I loved their commitment to each other. Covering the topic of Chase having PTSD taught me a lot of about serving in the military and suffering with the aftermath that I wasn’t as aware of until now. If you're into romance thrillers… is that a category? This is for you. Lots of tough topics with happy romance mixed in.

I received Chase Wilde Comes Home as part of a NetGalley giveaway.'

Chase Wilde, recovering from wartime and addiction-related trauma, returns to his hometown determined to make good. That includes being present in the life of his daughter Eliza and her mother, Shelby. Though Eliza was the product of a one night stand, the patience and understanding Shelby showed during his deployment, drug misuse, and recovery, has touched him deeply, and he can't get memories of their night together out of his head. Meanwhile, Shelby has struggles of her own, fighting against a legacy of violence that poisoned her early life.As Chase begins to rebuild his life and relationships with Shelby's help, they find in each other the support and love they have both lacked, something so precious they would risk everything to protect it.

I really enjoyed this. It felt like it had more substance than a typical romance novel. The hero and heroine's issues weren't magically fixed by the end of the novel; it's clear that Chase's trauma and addiction is something that will always be there, to an extent, but that they'll tackle it together. I also liked that they had a preexisting relationship from the beginning; they had a shared history and a foundation off which to build, so the progression of their romance made more sense. Finally, I really enjoyed Chase as a hero. I"m not a fan of macho, overprotective alphas, so his appreciation and support of Shelby's independence really appealed to me. It's a rare find, particularly in Westerns. I'm excited to read more in this series from Jennifer Ryan.

I would give this four out of five stars for the main couple. I liked their developing relationship and had they supported each other. Chase's brothers bothered me at the beginning of the novel. I thought they were too mean to some of the other characters, so the author might have to work harder in the next two books to make me care about them and their romancees.
