This was an interesting read. If you’re a beginner I would suggest doing further research before picking up this one. It can be confusing at times.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.

Lots of technical information whilst retaining a mystical edge to the writing, which made this both instructional and highly enjoyable to read.

Angels and Goddesses by Crystal Pomeroy is a subject I have thought about over the years and wish someone would incorporate the two into an oracle deck. After reading this book, you can see how powerful and beautiful that would be. This book has given me new ideas on how to combine these two energies to enhance my spiritual rituals. I found the history to be fascinating, and it added to the knowledge, you need to work with each one on a personal level. Self care, affirmations and self-doubt help are all covered beautifully in this book. Angels and Goddesses by Crystal Pomeroy will be a perfect reference book for my library.#AngelsandGoddesses #NetGalley

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to combined spirituality to a nature based religion. The main question most have once they realize they are searching for communion with a greater source is where to start looking to find your God/dess... l think the author did a nice job incorporating the angels and goddesses together it is a very comfortable way to start spiritually, especially if your like me leaving behind a very fear based religion but harboring fear about just what if fear has it right... watch out hell! This author does a really good job explaining why and how the angels and goddesses are chosen and used in the rituals given within this book and gives you a starting place to enrich your life with spiritually. Although it is just a starting place it is a great one. I believe the content in this book helps you find strength too leap back into the unknown to find your true path in life. Thank you Crystal Pomeroy this book fills a very empty place where so many 101 how to books never try too touch on; you where able to combined spiritual workings back into the lives of some many that has had way to much "religion".

Interesting take of the theory of combining angels and goddesses. I always think of angels as a Christian entity and goddesses as a as something that is used by those who practice other faiths. Lots of affirmations of the feminine Devine. I received this book from Net Galley and Llewellyn Worldwide for a honest review.

pairing one of each together and what they represent - a way to connect to them and to everyday things. Brings in different things/experiences to make it personable.

Huge thank you to NetGalley and Llewellyn Worldwide for providing me with an advanced copy of Angels and Goddesses by Crystal Pomeroy in exchange for my honest review! This is my first time reading a book by Pomeroy, and I was thoroughly delighted with the detailed insights she provided into the realm of angelic insights and connecting to higher angelic powers and our own intuition. I'd never heard of twin flame goddesses or read about connecting to our own divine and sacred feminine, but I think this book provides a great starting point to those who are new to the practice and further reading for those who are experienced.

I hate to begin my relationship with a beloved publisher on such a sour note, but unfortunately Angels and Goddesses just doesn't cut the mustard. Frankly, there is just so much in this book that I disagree with. As a witch who lives with bipolar disorder and chronic illness, I vehemently disagree with the idea that mental and physical illness is due to negative entities which needs to be banished, something the author speaks about in Chapter Two. It implies that these things are controllable with positive thinking. While thinking positively can have an effect on our mental and physical health, it is not enough to cure people. Implying that negative entities (like demons, for example) are the cause of our ailments is dangerous and irresponsible. And while the author does have a disclaimer at the beginning of the book to use her advice in concert with conventional medicine, it doesn't remove the need for the author to wield her words and ideas responsibly.

I also find it odd that the author has, in essence, created her own feminine archangels by taking several goddesses that share similar traits and coalesced them into an archetype that she then labels as the twin flame to actual, well-known masculine archangels. And then she uses all of these goddesses interchangeably, removed from their pantheons, cultures, and religions, which is incredibly appropriative. She also divorces the archangels from their Abrahamic roots, stating that they existed before religion. While angelic entities are present in many religions, albeit in differing forms, the archangels she chose for the book are, in fact, pulled directly from Abrahamic faiths, prominently Christianity and Judaism. As someone who works with Judeo-Christian figures in her practice, I don't mind their inclusion in the book, but I do wonder why the author chooses to erase their roots.

There are also other things that I can't personally support, such as statements about the "mass hysteria around danger for women" or the appropriation of practices and concepts such as mandalas and chakras while divorcing them from Hinduism for mass consumption without context. This book is also essentially Christian faith healing in New Age-y clothing, with a side of prosperity gospel. So many of the toxic parts of Christianity that people long to leave behind and actively are working to deconstruct show up in this book under the guise of New Age spirituality, but are just as harmful divorced from religious trappings.

I did appreciate how much the author focused on the divine feminine and how tapping into sacred femininity was important for and attainable for both men and women. However, those passages were a small part of a far larger, messier work. The concept for the book seems like a good one, and I'd love to see a book that connects angels and deities written by a much more thoughtful, reverent author. This one, unfortunately, just wasn't it.

I cannot in good faith recommend this book, but I do think it can spark a larger conversation in the spiritual community about things like toxic spirituality, science vs. faith, and cultural appropriation, among other things.

Very inspiring book with a lot of very interesting techniques for working with archangels and goddesses. Forex. Affirmations are given to offer you "negative" as well as positive approach, and it is very liberating and uplifting teaching. But, due to kinda many exercises and methods book can be sometimes "overwhelming and rigid", so maybe it is best to approach with care. Also This book will offer you the beautiful and mystical gift of "love" and it is specially written for those more inclined toward "feminine" views, though it can be used by all who approach it with respect.

Judging from my one star, I didn’t like this book AT ALL. After Chapter 3, I started skimming once I realized that I couldn’t understand the storytelling logic. There were jumps in the chapters that didn’t make sense and messed with the flow.

It was more New Agey than I was expecting. There was less focus on the goddesses than I was expecting (especially since it’s in the title).

There was more ritual work than background information on the angels or goddesses. From its presentation, I was expecting this book to be a reference book when it was really about manifesting.

There was a mention of a Mary in one chapter but didn’t mention which Mary (if referring to any of the many Marys in Christianity). Also, it felt like it removed the Christianity that is placed with Angels (I’m unsure of Judaism and Islam since I’m not as familiar). I would have taken any of the Abrahamic religions being mentioned but instead, closed practices are brought up and told to use.

Ultimately, I was expecting one thing and it ended up being too “Live, Laugh, Love” for my taste.

If you want to connect with angels, this books is for you! Not only will it take you through how to connect with angles, but also how to connect with their twin flame goddesses. I certainly had never been taught about the twin flame goddesses and this book not only introduces you to them, but provides you with a list of seven angels and their goddess. This is truly a great book that will help you get started and provides just how to do it. Connect and prosper from these connections. A great book for anyone who is interested expanding and connecting on a completely different level.
