I've always been bad at reading poetry. I've always said I don't like it. But... THIS!! This is poetry that speaks to me. This is poetry that makes sense to me. It's poetry for EVERYONE not just the literary elite. I simply could not put it down. The way that the author uses colors and flowers is simply exquisite. I started seeing whole new pictures in my mind. And even when she does that poetic indirect stuff, it STILL WORKS for me. (Am I gushing?) The thing is, this collection got me excited about poetry. It made me (finally) wonder if perhaps I could like poetry. Or... maybe I found my poet?

As a librarian/educator I also saw great potential in some of these poems as models for both teens and children. I think they'd spark conversation and ideas.

Thank you so much for this book. It's one of the best books I've had the fortune to meet this year and I am a voracious reader.
